Ex-bunny Kendra Wilkinson's biggest Playboy Mansion regret
Kendra Wilkinson revealed her biggest regret from her time at the Playboy Mansion.
During an interview with Fox News Digital, the 39-year-old TV personality-turned-real estate agent reflected on opportunities that she missed while living at the iconic Hollywood property as one of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner's girlfriends from 2004 to 2009.
'The only thing I can say I regret in my life is not starting my real estate career while I was living at the Playboy Mansion,' Wilkinson admitted while on the red carpet at the Operation Smile 25th Los Angeles Smile Fiesta.
'What was I thinking?' she added. 'Like, I mean, I was surrounded by everyone, every celebrity, every billionaire, and what was I thinking? But I'm now in real estate, so I'm good.'
Wilkinson launched her career in real estate after passing the California real estate exam in June 2020. A month later, Wilkinson was hired as a real estate agent at The Agency, the luxury real estate company founded by Mauricio Umansky, who is married to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
Wilkinson later left The Agency to join the high-end real estate firm Douglas Elliman. In November 2021, Wilkinson debuted her reality series, Kendra Sells Hollywood, which followed the former model as she navigated the ups and downs of her new career in Los Angeles' ultracompetitive luxury real estate market. Kendra Sells Hollywood ran for two seasons on Discovery+ and Max.
In May 2023, Wilkinson announced on Instagram that she was stepping away from her real estate career. However, in a September interview with People, Wilkinson revealed that she hadn't actually given up her real estate career and admitted that she had been too hasty in announcing her departure from the business.
'I just had a really bad day,' Wilkinson said. 'So I did announce that I'd be stepping away from real estate, but that was just a really bad day in my life and I should've never probably Instagrammed that I'm quitting, but I did on accident like an idiot, so I made a huge mistake.'
'But I'm back in it,' she added. 'I have so many deals I'm working on right now.'
Wilkinson told People that though working in real estate is 'so stressful,' she 'wants to do it again.'
'I want to publicly hate real estate again, but I can't, because I love it,' Wilkinson said. 'I love real estate. It's a challenge every single day.'
When Wilkinson initially announced that she was quitting real estate, she explained that she made the decision so that she could focus on her children and her mental health. Wilkinson shares son Hank IV and daughter Alijah, 11, with her ex-husband Hank Baskett.
Wilkinson has been candid about her struggles with her mental health after being hospitalised in September 2023 when she suffered from a panic attack.
At the time, a representative for Wilkinson said that she had been taken to the emergency room but would be released the same day.
In a January 2024 interview with People, Wilkinson shared that after she was released from the emergency room, she had to return to the hospital a week later.
Wilkinson explained that during her second visit, doctors prescribed her an antipsychotic medication, Abilify, and she attended therapy three times a week after her hospitalisation.
'I was in a state of panic. I didn't know what was going on in my head and my body or why I was crying. I had hit rock bottom,' Wilkinson recalled of her medical crisis.
'I was dying of depression,' she continued. 'I was hitting the end of my life, and I went into psychosis. I felt like I wasn't strong enough to live anymore.'
She shared that professionals helped her handle unresolved trauma, which stemmed from living in the Playboy Mansion and her 2019 divorce from Baskett.
Wilkinson rose to fame at the age of 18 when she became one of Hefner's girlfriends and starred on the hit reality series Girls Next Door.
'It's not easy to look back at my 20s. I've had to face my demons,' she admitted.
'Playboy really messed my whole life up,' the former model said.
'It was the lowest place I've ever been in my life. I felt like I had no future. I couldn't see in front of my depression,' she recalled. 'I was giving up and I couldn't find the light. I had no hope.'
The California native said before she was hospitalised, she was also struggling with her job in real estate, which caused her not to eat or sleep regularly.
''How am I going to succeed?' 'What am I doing wrong in my life?' 'Do I give up?'' Wilkinson said.
During her interview with Fox News Digital, Wilkinson recalled her hospitalisation and praised her team of medical professionals for helping her through her darkest time.
'My health and happiness is such a blessing,' she said. 'I credit amazing doctors. I credit an amazing psychiatrist, psychologists, therapists, trainers, physical therapists. I mean, it keeps going on.'
'I mean without them, I wouldn't be standing right now,' she continued. 'I went through a lot with my mental health. I ended up hospitalised for about seven days.'
Wilkinson shared that she was hospitalised at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where she said that the team of doctors and nurses who treated her were 'so amazing.'
'They got me on the right meds, and I feel like a million bucks tonight,' she said. 'I feel amazing. They got me through it. We talked through it. I learned a lot about the brain and how we think, how we behave. And it took a lot of opening my heart up, opening up my mind and really just dissecting everything that's a part of me. And it took me a long time to heal and recover from a lot things.'
Wilkinson told Fox News Digital that having 'amazing friends that support me' was also crucial at that time.
'So yeah, it's been a journey, but I'm there,' she said. 'I feel good, and I'm smiling, and I never want to take my smile for granted.'

Bryce Dallas Howard gets brutally honest about her most notorious move flops: ‘You always know'
Hollywood star Bryce Dallas Howard has opened up about some of her most notorious box office flops. Despite starring in the likes of Twilight and Jurrasic Park, Howard has also starred in projects that became some of their respective years' biggest bombs. She starred in Lady in the Water from director M. Night Shyamalan, which failed to recoup its $154m budget, as well as notorious flop Argylle, which cost over $300m to make but didn't manage to even hit $150m at the box office. 'You can always see it coming while you're making it,' Howard recently told The Independent about her movie flops. 'I've never been shocked when something doesn't work. But I'm just an actor – you're there to serve a director's vision. If a movie doesn't turn out the way that you envisioned, you can barely feel disappointed because it's not yours. You're not the person who's building the thing.' Howard said in comparison, she has seen her father, the Oscar-winning filmmaker Ron Howard, break down emotionally when one of his films doesn't do well. 'It blows him away that I don't do that,' she said. She went on to recall a story her father told her about Clint Eastwood back in the day. When her dad's 1992 film Far and Away with Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise flopped spectacularly at the box office, he turned to Eastwood for some sage advice. 'He said, 'Ronnie – a career is like a season of television. You've got 24 episodes, some of the episodes are going to be bad, some are going to be serviceable, maybe a little forgettable, and maybe five of those episodes are going to be really strong and last,'' Howard said. Argylle, from filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, starred the likes of Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa, but their combined starpower failed to help make the film a hit. In an interview with Empire last year, Vaughn confessed that he genuinely believed the movie was going to be a big success after test screenings ended positively. 'F**k yeah,' Vaughn said when asked if the disappointing reviews from critics were a difficult read for him. 'We had done test screenings that had gone fantastically well. The premiere was a really fun night, and it was like going back to the 'Snatch' days where there was such excitement. And I started drinking the Kool-Aid. It's a fun, feel-good movie, or I thought it was a fun, feel-good movie. We didn't make 'Citizen Kane,' but f**king hell, then the reviews came out and I'm like, 'Wait, what have I done to offend these people?' They were vitriolic. I'm not saying the movie's perfect by any means, but I didn't think it was offensive. That took me by surprise.'

‘Breaking Bad' homeowner's wild act
There's a new villain living in Walter White's house. The real-life owner of the famous 'Breaking Bad' home has had enough of fan visits and reached her own breaking point. Joanne Quintana grew up in the ranch-style property in Albuquerque, New Mexico, during the filming of the series which aired from 2008 to 2013, the New York Post reports. After years of dealing with trespassers and fans of the show flocking to take pictures of the iconic house, Ms Quintana is taking matters into her own hands. In his viral clip, Santi filmed Ms Quintana spraying fans on the street with her water hose, as she demanded they stay away from her property. While sitting on a chair in her front yard, Quintana asked one fan, 'Have you seen anything but 'Breaking Bad' stuff since you've been here?' 'You can take a picture from that corner, do not get close,' she continued. 'And no tripods, no nothing. One picture then you go.' When one visitor approached Ms Quintana's property, she told him, 'back up, cowboy.' Another visitor told Ms Quintana that he was a fan of the Emmy Award-winning show, to which she replied, 'the whole world is a fan, doesn't impress me.' Santi's video of Ms Quintana went viral with nearly three million views, as fans weighed in on Ms Quintana's behaviour. 'She just sits there all day and tells people how stupid they are lol,' one fan wrote. 'If she was smart she'd start charging,' another person said. Someone else pointed out, 'the street and sidewalk are public property.' Other fans suggested Ms Quintana should Airbnb her house to make money. In January, Ms Quintana listed her home for $US4 million ($A6.1 million) as she grew frustrated with fans of the show gawking at her property. Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, his wife Skylar and their son Walt Jr. famously lived in the home in the series. Ms Quintana told local news outlet KOB that she initially considered the filming a 'once in a lifetime thing' that allowed her and her family to witness 'the magic of Hollywood,' which included interacting with the entire cast and crew. But eventually Ms Quintana and her family dealt with strangers constantly visiting the property. On one occasion, a package for 'Walter White' showed up at the home at 4.30am, leading the Quintanas to call the bomb squad out of concern for their safety. They also put up a fence — but that did not deter television nerds from showing up to the home. Some fans even tossed full pizza pies on the roof of the house's garage in an homage to a classic scene from the show, but they were reprimanded by 'Breaking Bad' creator Vince Gilligan on the 'Better Call Saul' podcast back in 2022. 'There is nothing original, or funny, or cool, about throwing a pizza on this lady's roof,' Gilligan said at the time. 'She is the sweetest lady in the world, and if you are getting on her nerves you are doing something seriously f**king wrong,' he added about Ms Quintana.
