Haryana cancels leaves of all police, health department staff after Operation Sindoor
Amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Haryana government on Thursday cancelled the leaves of all the personnel of police and health department. The orders were issued, by the health and home department chiefs to keep the state prepared in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor.
Confirming the development, the police department's spokesperson said, 'The orders have been issued by the home department and we have recalled all the police personnel those on leave and have blocked all the further leave applications. All police personnel have been ordered to report on their duties and no leave shall be granted till further orders'.
A letter issued to the chief medical officers of all the districts across Haryana, mentioned that 'All the officers/ officials will have been remain stationed at their present places of posting and shall not leave the district headquarters, nor any leave application shall be approved. The directions shall remain in force till further orders. In case any officer/ official needs to go on leave, the application shall only be approved from the state headquarters'.
Haryana on Wednesday conducted mock drill in all 22 districts of the state to check preparedness in case of any exigency. The 10-minute blackout was also observed in all the cities and district headquarters from 7.50 pm to 8 pm. Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dr Sumita Misra monitored the exercise from the control room set up in Panchkula under 'Operation Abhyas'. She also took detailed information about the phone calls coming on Dial 112 and gave necessary instructions to officials.
'The mock drill was to prepare oneself for an emergency situation. There is no need for any citizen to panic or worry. I appeal to the people to follow the information given from time to time by the district administration officials and keep themselves ready to deal with any exigency. The situation is absolutely peaceful at present,' Dr Misra said.
She said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed to hold the mock drill regularly on the 7th of May every year to ensure 'preparation, precaution and No Panic'. People should follow the do's and don'ts as communicated by the district administration, she said.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asserted that indigenous weapons have proved their might and showed that they were second to none as he chaired a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers, sources said. He highlighted the changing nature of warfare, an apparent reference to the large-scale deployment of drones in the recent conflict with Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, and said 'Make in India' weapons and platforms will be a priority for the government, they said. PM Modi asked his Council of Ministers to aim high and work in overdrive to achieve the goals. The meeting witnessed a presentation that asserted India's strength in the conflict against Pakistan.
