The final event for the Alabama Crimson Tide between now and the 2025 NFL draft took place Wednesday morning in Tuscaloosa, as the program hosted their annual Pro Day inside of the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility.
This year, a total of 11 players from the Alabama football program participate in Pro Day activities, some of which also participated recently at the NFL scouting combine a few weeks ago. Many of these names were in action throughout the morning and afternoon Wednesday, participating in drills such as the 40-yard dash, along with Milroe throwing in front of professional scouts, in hopes of showcasing their skills one final time before the NFL draft arrives.
A three-day event, the 2025 NFL draft will officially take place from Thursday, April 24 through Saturday, April 26.

Za'Darius Smith: 'Hopefully,' I'm back with the Detroit Lions
Defensive end Za'Darius Smith remains a free agent, but, in the end, he wants to be back with the team that he went to the playoffs with last season, that being the Detroit Lions — who cut him in March. "Hopefully, I can get back to Detroit because the coaching staff and everybody in the front office are great," Smith told USA TODAY Sports. "When I'm there, I feel like a leader and like I can influence the young guys and do great things. Hopefully, I can get back to where I want to be in Detroit." Smith split the 2024 season with the Cleveland Browns and Lions, who acquired him at the NFL trade deadline after suffering myriad defensive injuries, including to star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson, a 2023 Pro Bowler. In all, Smith finished the 2024 regular season with a combined nine sacks and 35 combined tackles. Smith ranked 21st among edge defenders in pass-rush grade (76.5), 33rd in overall grade (74.7) and 85th in run-defense grade (62.8) according to Pro Football Focus. Now, should Smith return to Detroit, there are some changes on the coaching side, as the Lions lost defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn — who became the new head coach of the New York Jets — and promoted former linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard to the position. They also have a new defensive line coach in Kacy Rodgers, among many other coaching changes. The 32-year-old Smith, who expressed that he's focused on "getting a ring now and winning a championship," thinks he and Hutchinson could be a special duo off the edge. "I'm still a veteran. He's [Hutchinson] still a young guy. I can help him with a lot of things. He's already great, but as a player, there are some tools that I know that I can help him with," Smith said. "And there are some things as a young guy that he can help me with." Smith, a three-time Pro Bowler, spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens (2015-18), followed by a three-year stint with the Green Bay Packers (2019-21), one season with the Minnesota Vikings (2022) and a season-plus with the Browns before being acquired by the Lions during the 2024 season. Elsewhere, Detroit re-signed defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike, defensive end Marcus Davenport and linebacker Ezekiel Turner to one-year deals apiece, while adding defensive tackle Roy Lopez and selecting Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams with the No. 28 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Last season, the Lions went 15-2 and claimed the No. 1 seed in the NFC before losing to the Washington Commanders in the NFC divisional round. Detroit's defense surrendered 244.0 passing yards (30th in the NFL), 98.4 rushing yards (fifth), 342.4 total yards (20th) and 20.1 points (seventh) per game. Update on Alabama football start times vs SEC opponents for 2025 season
Update on Alabama football start times vs SEC opponents for 2025 season Alabama-Georgia kickoff time, TV channel announced. Crimson Tide matchup vs. LSU will be night game. Alabama football provided some new information related to start times against its 2025 SEC opponents Wednesday. The highly anticipated showdown between the Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs, set for Sept. 27 at Sanford Stadium in Athens, will kick off in prime time. Similar to last season's matchup at Bryant-Denny Stadium, Alabama-UGA is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ABC. The Crimson Tide defeated the Bulldogs, 41-34, in coach Kalen DeBoer's first big test as head coach last year. Alabama's game at Missouri on Oct. 11 will be an 11 a.m. CT kickoff on either ABC or ESPN. The Crimson Tide will be making their first visit to Faurot Field since Nick Saban's 2020 national championship team opened the pandemic-shortened season there on Sept. 26 with a 38-19 victory. Not surprisingly, Alabama's annual showdown with LSU on Nov. 8 will also be a night game. Although an official kickoff time was not announced Wednesday, the game will kick off at either 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. Alabama's matchups with Vanderbilt and SEC rivals Tennessee and Auburn were given the 'flex' window tag, essentially meaning the conference and ESPN haven't decided on official start times. For now, the tag simply means that Alabama won't be playing its two biggest rivals at 11 a.m. Additionally, the Crimson Tide's Nov. 22 game against Eastern Illinois in Tuscaloosa was announced as a 1 p.m. start. The game will only be available for streaming via ESPN+ and SEC Network+ Prior to Wednesday's updates, Alabama announced its Week 1 kickoff against Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Aug. 30 would be a 2:30 p.m. start on ABC. The Crimson Tide will face Louisiana-Monroe the following week at 6:45 p.m. on SEC Network. Alabama's game against Wisconsin on Sept. 13 will kick off at 11 a.m. and be televised on ABC or ESPN.
