Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Collection Day 18: Ashwin Kumar's film crosses ₹210 crore worldwide

Animated mythological epic Mahavatar Narsimha is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. Since its theatrical release on July 25, director Ashwin Kumar's big-screen spectacle has been setting new benchmarks for Indian animation, amassing over ₹ 210 crore worldwide, the makers announced on Monday. The film recently surpassed Hanuman and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to become the highest-grossing animated film in India. Sharing the milestone on social media, production house Hombale Films wrote, ' ₹ 210 CRORES+ worldwide gross & counting… Mahavatar Narsimha continues the glorious run, shattering records and winning the love of millions worldwide.' At the Indian box office, the film's momentum remains strong. On its third Sunday, Mahavatar Narsimha collected an impressive ₹ 23 crore, taking its domestic total to ₹ 171.92 crore after 18 days, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. That's not all, the film has become the highest-grossing animated film in India. 'When we get this kind of reception, it proves that Indian films have an audience. And even for Disney movies, the artists are all Indians. Yes, we had the resources. The technology was there, but someone just had to take that risk and prove that in India, Indian animation movies will also work,' said Hombale Films co-founder Chaluve Gowda in an interview with Hindustan Times. Produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under the Kleem Productions banner and presented by Hombale Films, Mahavatar Narsimha was released in both 3D and 2D formats in Hindi and multiple South Indian languages. The film's success has already paved the way for upcoming instalments, including Mahavatar Parshuram and Mahavatar Kalki, with the makers aiming to build a large-scale mythological franchise in Indian animation.

‘Selling lies, not truth': Student calls out celebrity and influencer over 'misleading' endorsement at Youth Parliament

At the Youth Parliament 2025 held at Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur, student speaker Arya Ojha delivered a sharp critique of celebrities, cricketers, and social media influencers who endorse products and services that, she said, raise serious ethical questions. Addressing a packed audience, Arya questioned whether the products promoted by high-profile figures are truly safe for consumers. She pointed out the contradiction between influencers who advocate self-love and body positivity, yet promote 'miracle' weight-loss products and quick-fix beauty treatments. Similarly, she flagged concerns over cricketers endorsing online gambling platforms despite being role models for millions. 'While they earn in crores, the public silently suffers—with compromised health, damaged self-esteem, and confusion,' Arya said, accusing public figures of trading trust for profit. 'What we consume today, we pay for at the hospital tomorrow, all thanks to the tagline we once trusted.' She also warned about the growing use of artificial intelligence in advertising, saying it has become easier to manufacture believable yet false narratives. 'A face can be faked, a voice cloned, and an entire story fabricated,' she said. 'We are no longer just consuming misinformation--we are helping spread it.' Quoting Swami Vivekananda--'Give me 100 youths, I will change the direction of this country"--Arya said today's generation should be standing with the truth, not 'selling lies.' She invoked India's philosophical and cultural heritage, citing the Mundaka Upanishad's shloka Satyamev Jayate ('Truth always triumphs'), which appears on the national emblem, and urged young Indians to uphold it. Arya concluded with a direct appeal to politicians, actors, and influencers to act responsibly. 'When what is visible is only noise, why not present the right facts so that the youth of the country don't just get lost in showbiz, but move forward with the right thinking and direction?' she said.

Conor McGregor faces harsh criticism as he trains for potential UFC fight at White House in 2026 (Image via Getty) Conor McGregor, the famous Irish fighter and former two-division UFC champion, is back in the news. The 37-year-old star has not fought since July 2021, when he broke his leg in his third fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Now, videos of McGregor training have appeared online, showing him preparing for a possible comeback. This comes after President Donald Trump suggested holding a UFC event on the White House lawn in 2026. McGregor has been close to Trump and seems interested in fighting at this unique event. But many fans and former fighters are not impressed with his current training. Conor McGregor's training videos get tough criticism from fans and former champions McGregor's recent training clips shared on his social media have been met with sharp criticism. Many UFC fans on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) say he looks slow and not ready for a big fight. One fan wrote, 'Bro looks so bad now, just stay retired.' Another added, 'He will never come back!' Some people even predicted that McGregor might lose quickly if he returns. A user said, 'He's gonna get KO'd first round,' while another warned, 'Stay retired because you'll get knocked out in round 1. Face it, man, it's over.' This shows he is busy with more than just fighting. However, the potential UFC fight on the White House lawn in Washington, D.C., remains a hot topic. President Donald Trump floated the idea in 2024 for a UFC event at the White House in 2026. McGregor's closeness to Trump and his political views make this fight idea even more likely. The Dublin native is obviously practicing and sharing his results even if no formal date or fight card has been set. Almost four years distant from the Octagon, spectators will be closely watching to see if McGregor can get back into fighting condition. During UFC 264 on July 10, 2021, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Poirier fractured his leg against Dustin Poirier in his final battle. Many wonder now, with this new training and White House fight opportunity, if the former champion still has what it takes to compete again. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4.
