Hollyoaks star exits soap a year after dramatic return – and he's already filmed his final scenes

A MAJOR Hollyoaks star has left the soap - and he's already filmed his final scenes.
The actor made a shock comeback just over a year ago but has now decided to bow out of the Channel 4 soap and spread his wings.

Charlie Clapham first played Freddie Roscoe first arrived in the village in 2013 and stayed for four years before leaving the show.
Last year he made a shock return alongside Tamara Wall as villain Grace Black as his wife.
Freddie quickly cheated on Grace with Vicky Grant, and again Mercedes McQueen.
He is plotting to bring down Grace but he has no idea she's got his brother Robbie chained up in a basement somewhere.
The storyline is set to come to an explosive head later this year and it will lead to actor Charlie's exit.
A source said: 'Charlie has finished his stint filming.
'He's hugely popular and everyone's really sad to see him go but the storyline is great and it was all planned out before his return.
'There's going to be a big send off for Freddie as the soap ramps up for a huge summer leading to the 30th later this year.'
A Hollyoaks spokeswoman declined to comment.
Last week the soap also said goodbye to Nikki Sanderson after 12 years playing Maxine Minniver.

Breaking her silence on her exit, she said: 'My proudest moments have to be the domestic violence storyline with Jeremy Sheffield, and of course, the phenomenal episode that was The Long Walk Home, both working in conjunction with government's campaigns to help, protect and save vulnerable people living these horrendous experiences.
'I will miss her and the show so much, but most of all I will miss the extraordinary people who work at Lime Pictures, they are the heartbeat of the show.
From Hollyoaks to Hollywood
James Corden played a caretaker in the early days of the soap.
The former American TV host doesn't have much positive to say about his time on the soap, claiming it was "hell on earth."
Since his short-lived time on the show he has gone on to bigger things including smash hit comedy Gavin and Stacey.
Rachel Shenton joined the soap as aspiring glamour model Mitzeee Minniver in 2010.
Over two years her character was sent to prison, got pregnant and had a number of romantic affairs.
Since leaving Hollyoaks she has won an Oscar for best live action short film, The Silent Child.
Rachel has also starred in White Gold and All Creatures Great and Small
Emmett J. Scanlan played gangster turned anti-hero Brendan Brady.
Emmett played the love interest of Steve Hayes, with their romance delighting fans until it turned violent.
Since his departure Emmett has appeared in Peaky Blinders, The Fall, Gangs of London and even appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy
Emma Rigby joined Hollyoaks when she was 15 as Hannah Ahsworth.
Hannah's eating disorder storyline was the first of it's kind on TV while other plots included being caught in a fire, gangland drug dealing and running away.
Since leaving the soap in 2010 Emma has gone on to star in ABCs Once Upon a Time in Wonderland as the Red Queen. Other roles include guest appearances in Death In Paradise, Ripper Street and Fresh Meat
Nico Mirallegro got his big break with Hollyoaks starring as emo Barry 'Newt' Newton.
Nico's main storyline in the soap was developing schizophrenia which culminated in a suicide pact.
He left the soap in 2010 and went on to star in My Mad Fat Diary, Our Girl, Rillington Place, The Ark and Common, Penance, as well as the Mike Leigh movie Peterloo and was nominated for a Bafta for his role in period drama The Village.
Ricky Whittle used Hollyoaks as a stepping stone to break America.
He played one of the soap's resident hunks, Calvin Valentine, from 2006 to 2011 - when he was killed off at his wedding.
After leaving the soap Ricky cracked America starring in teen drama The 100 and America Gods.
He also appeared in Strictly Come Dancing in 2009.
Warren Brown joined Hollyoaks in 2005 for a year as evil Andy Holt.
His stint on the show consisted of date rape storylines and a crime spree, before eventually being killed off.
After leaving Hollyoaks, Warren became a big hitter in TV playing DS Justin Ripley in Luther, as well as major roles in a number of dramas including Liar, The Responder, Homefront and Good Cop.
Wallis Day played Holly Cunningham in the soap for years before leaving.
In 2021 Wallis won the role of Batwoman in DC's series, taking over from Ruby Rose.
'They don't get the praise they deserve. Hollyoaks can sometimes be given a hard time, but I can honestly say I have spent over a decade working with some of the most talented, creative, kind people.
'Thank you to you all, it's been an honour working with you.'

Anna Williamson gives verdict on Naked Attraction's return as she lauds show for 'paving the way' for controversial series Virgin Island and Open House - despite both sparking swathes of viewer complaints

Anna Williamson has given her verdict on whether Naked Attraction will ever return to our screens as she admitted she thinks that the show has 'paved the way' for controversial series Virgin Island and Open House: The Great Sex Experiment. The Channel 4 programme, which sees contributors bare all in a bid to find love, hit our screens back in 2016. Naked Attraction aired 65 episodes across seven series, before wrapping up in March last year. Many have wondered if the show will ever come back for an eighth series, and speaking exclusively to Daily Mail, she admitted: 'I am desperate for it to come back. 'I want a campaign that basically says "Bring back Naked Attraction". 'It is wildly popular. People absolutely love it. It is funny. It's about acceptance. The Channel 4 programme (pictured), which sees contributors bare all in a bid to find love, hit our screens back in 2016 Virgin Island (pictured) premiered on C4 in May and viewers blasted the 'absolutely excruciating' dating show 'as a new low' for TV as it saw 12 singletons endure raunchy tasks in a bid to lose their virginity 'And I think at the moment, in a world where we're all actually a bit p***ed off and we feel ground down in this country, you know, there's a huge amount of division and anger. 'I think Naked Attraction brings a bit of levity. 'So the fact is, the truth is, I have no idea whether it's coming back. 'I really hope so, because it's a fun show to do, and it does very well, but I have no idea about about the politics of whether it is or not, but let's keep our fingers crossed.' When the show aired its first episode nine years ago, it certainly shocked viewers with the format. The single person picks their dream date while standing next to host Anna, while their potential lovers are standing in different coloured pods totally naked. Their potential match's reveal a part of their body during each round and the single person sends one person, that they are least attracted to, home at the end of each one. At the end of the segment, they reveal their faces and their voice is heard and the person picking also strips down to reveal all, so everyone has seen each other naked. They then pick between the remaining two people and they go on a date with clothes on. Since Naked Attraction hit our screens, other more controversial shows have gone on to air on Channel 4, including Virgin Island and Open House: The Great Sex Experiment. Virgin Island premiered on C4 in May and viewers blasted the 'absolutely excruciating' dating show 'as a new low' for TV as it saw 12 singletons endure raunchy tasks in a bid to lose their virginity. It has since been confirmed for a second series. Meanwhile Open House has been on our screens since 2022. The programme follows couples who are interested in opening up their relationship - and they definitely don't hide anything during filming. It saw a woman break down in tears after begging her boyfriend for an open relationship and it backfired at a sex-filled party. While another couple left the experiment after a group romp ended in disaster. The views of sex and nudity has definitely changed over the years, and Anna believes that Naked Attraction 'paved the way' for programmes like those. 'Everybody had a breakdown when Naked Attraction was announced. And, you know, the press went absolutely crazy... "this is a new low for, you know, new low and moral standards on British television." 'And of course, we were trailblazers, so now we've paved the way to things being more open and talked about and accepting. 'I've watched both Open House and Virgin Island, and I think they're both incredible formats. 'In terms of Open House, what they're doing, very cleverly, is just merely reflecting the fact that polyamory is on the rise, people are sexually open and curious. 'And why not with Virgin Island? I think that's an extraordinary idea, that there are sex therapists out there that ultimately are prepared to have sex with people who have psychological issues around their virginity. 'Again, what you're dealing with here is issues of being vulnerable and people being human. Yeah, so I think they're both fantastic formats.' She added: 'The thing that I do question sometimes, you know, as a producer and a format creator, I do question, where are we going next? 'Because the more extreme we're becoming, ultimately you're going to hit a brick wall in the end, if you can't get any more extreme and with acceptable television, but, but I'm curious about it.' Anna recently joined forces with iD Mobile, who have recently found out that more Brits than ever are dating abroad. She told us: 'I'm a journalist by trade, and also people very much view me, with the shows I've done, people view me as a bit of a relationships expert, a sex and dating expert. 'I am a qualified cognitive hypnotherapist. 'So I'm interested in human behavior. I'm interested in our dating landscape. I'm interested in connection and how we're not doing it very well at the moment in the UK. 'So this really piqued my interest. When I was approached by ID mobile, I thought this is an interesting survey, actually, journalistically, in terms of the fact that people are now starting to look worldwide to connect more authentically, it sort of piqued my curiosity in terms of why we're not doing it in the UK.' Anna explained: 'This is actually a really fascinating campaign that's come off the back of a survey that Id mobile have launched, where they interviewed and surveyed 2000 British singles and discovered that more Brits than ever before are dating abroad. 'So they're looking for love abroad, which I thought was really, really interesting, that obviously the dating, the dating field, I suppose, or landscape in the UK, is becoming more diminished, and people are going abroad. 'Off the back of that, they are then offering inclusive Data Roaming to 50 different countries that people can find love worldwide, basically with ease, without landing a huge bill at the end of it. 'But the the survey results are very, very interesting, just just given the fact that we know that 45% of people say that their best romantic experience happened abroad. Most of us have had a holiday romance. 'We know that around a third of people use dating apps when they go abroad to hook up with locals, but also because they're saying that actually, they get a more authentic experience of the town or the city that they're in if they use a language app or dating app.' Anna Richardson has partnered with iD Mobile to explore the rise in overseas dating and highlight how roaming charges are preventing millions of Brits from making meaningful connections abroad.

EastEnders star confirms more trouble for Oscar as he gets set to flee

There may be trouble ahead… (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) EastEnders favourite Pierre Moullier has revealed there's more drama ahead for Oscar Branning as the character gets set to flee Albert Square. Viewers of the BBC One soap have seen Oscar experience a number of run-ins with thuggish associate Fat Mike (Tai Hilferink) over recent weeks, from threatening text messages to being beaten up and threatened with a knife. The situation has made Oscar increasingly more paranoid, so much so that he launched an attack on his sister Lauren's (Jacqueline Jossa) fiancé Peter Beale (Thomas Law). Desperate to find a resolution, he has to act fast next week when Mike demands £5k in exchange for the Branning family's protection. 'To me, this situation with Mike is like a multi-choice game, and Oscar always chooses the worst option,' actor Pierre told us. 'He should be going for option A and asking Jack [Branning, (Scott Maslen)] for help, but instead, he thinks he can make Option B work and find the money himself. 'Oscar seems to believe that all he needs is the time to get his hands on the money.' Mike demands 5k out of Oscar (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) He steals the money from Patrick (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) After discovering that Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) has struck lucky at the betting shop – bagging himself a whopping £6k – it seems to be the answer to his prayers. Pierre continued: 'This is the last thing he wants to do, but he's deeply concerned by Mike and feeling quite alone in this. 'In his head, he thinks that Patrick wasn't expecting to have this money, so it won't hurt him if Oscar takes it. In the heat of the moment, Patrick is sent tumbling to the floor (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! 'He thinks he can get in, take the money and get out with nobody being any the wiser.' Unfortunately, after being caught red-handed, Oscar pushes Patrick to the floor and knocks him unconscious. This was not on his bingo card! Despite everything, Pierre reckons there could be some redemption for Oscar. '[He's] done some bad things, but he's not a bad person.'
