Playboy legend Holly Madison insists sex with Hugh Hefner wasn't 'a horror story'

Perth Now03-05-2025
Holly Madison says her sex life with Hugh Hefner was "a lot more normal" than people might assume.
The 44-year-old star was in a relationship with the late magazine owner and lived i his famed home from 2001 until 2009 but explained that while she "hated" having to get intimate with him in front of others, it wasn't such a "horror story" when they were alone together.
Speaking on the ' In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele' podcast, she said: "Well, it's a very different story between when we were just by ourselves than with everybody else in the room. Everybody else in the room, no. That was disgusting. I hated it. I made it very known I hated it.
"But if it was just me and him, it was a lot more normal than you would think.
"I think everybody has this real horror story of how gross an old man's body must be."
The former 'Girls Next Door' star added that she would face trolling on a daily basis that would make fun of Hugh's " old and nasty" privates, but she insisted that wasn't how she saw it in real life.
She said: "I feel like there was a time when I couldn't post anything without some dumba*** in the comments like, 'Oh, old balls,' or something like that and look, maybe some people's balls do get old and nasty, but I've never seen such a thing. All cats are grey in the dark."
When Holly broke up with Hugh, she recalled getting to leave the Playboy Masion and found a folder next to her bed which contained a will that claimed she was to receive millions when Hugh eventually passed away but wondered if it was all a "lowkey bribe" he had laid out for her.
She said: "This is kind of sad, but when I broke up with him, I was like packing my stuff, and then one day there was like ... I don't know why I'm laughing ... There was a folder set out on my side of the bed because he knows I'm going to look at it. "Everybody knew I was the biggest snoop in the house, so I looked at it. I had zero control.
"You didn't know who was showing up, who was going to be in the bedroom the next day and I just wanted to be prepared.
"This was very clearly for me to see, my side of the bed, so I look at it and it's his will all printed out, all the details. This is who's getting what and blah, blah, blah. He was leaving me $3 million, but it was kind of sad though, because I'd already broken it off with him and he was trying to get me to stay, so it was kind of like a lowkey bribe but also sad because he can't sit me down and talk to me about it. It was just like, 'Oh, maybe if she sees this...'"

Crystal Hefner applies for name change

Crystal Hefner has applied to change her name. The 39-year-old model - who got engaged to James Ward earlier this year - has officially petitioned to revert back to Crystal Margaret Harris, using the surname she had before marrying late Playboy tycoon Hugh Hefner in 2012. Court documents on the matter obtained by People magazine didn't list a hearing date but in California, legal name changes typically require a public notice period and a formal court hearing before they can be carried out. Crystal previously claimed she only loved Hugh - who died in 2017 aged 91 - like an elderly relative. She wrote in her memoir 'Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself': 'Life in the (Playboy) mansion wasn't the fairy tale I had once hoped it would be. 'From the outside, sure, it had all the trappings of a fairy tale. But it wasn't, and everyone who lived there knew it. 'I was never in love with Hef, but I loved this old man in the ways you are supposed to love your elders. 'In the ways you are supposed to love someone who is nearing the end of a long and complicated life.' The model also spoke of her late husband's insistence on controlling how she looked. She said on Tamron Hall: '[He wanted me to] be helpless, be small, have bleach blonde hair and stay skinny and have big fake boobs.' She added Hugh would 'tap' her head whenever her natural brunette roots would show through and once hit her thigh and said she needed to 'tone up'. Crystal added he also wanted her to be 'seen and not speak', and said: 'That was hard. This charming man all of the sudden is changing.' She said she was so worried about keeping him happy she lost all sense of self and 'became whatever he wanted'. After a series of surgeries, Crystal announced in 2022 she had 'everything fake' removed from her body. She also reflected on the "really big power imbalance" of her marriage. She told People magazine: "I realised I was dealing with a really big power imbalance. It seemed like a world of success and fantasy, but everyone's having to sleep with an 80 year old. There's a price. Everything has a price.'

Hugh Jackman's ex Deborra-Lee Furness 'ready to start dating' after divorce

Deborra-Lee Furness is reportedly being encouraged to "start dating again". The 69-year-old actress - whose divorce from Hollywood star Hugh Jackman was finalised last month - is said to be open to finding love again, but she's not rushing into another relationship. A source told Woman's Day magazine: "Deb is finally starting to heal and talk about what she wants in her life going forward. "She's got an incredible support system that's been there every step of the way, helping her to pick up the pieces of her life. "They are encouraging her to start dating again." It's said while Deborra-Lee has been getting offers from some "incredible guys", she won't be tempted to settle. The source added: "She knows what she brings to the table." Deborra-Lee and Hugh split in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage, but she only filed for divorce in May, and it was signed off by a judge a few weeks ago. According to PEOPLE magazine, online court records from New York's Suffolk County Supreme Court show that a judgment of divorce was filed on June 12, and later uploaded to the website on June 23, with the case not listed as 'Disposed'. When Deborra-Lee filed for divorce from the 56-year-old actor, she indicated the terms were uncontested and would only need a sign-off from a judge. It was revealed days after the filing that the pair had begun to separate their shared assets. The former couple met on the set of the Australian TV series Correlli in 1995 and married on 11 April 1996. They adopted their son, Oscar, now 24, in 2000, and their daughter, Ava, 19, in 2005. In September 2023, they confirmed their separation in a joint statement shared with People, saying: 'Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. 'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.' In May, Deborra-Lee issued a separate statement discussing the emotional impact of the split. She said: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It's a profound wound that cuts deep.' Deborra added: 'However, I believe in a higher power and that God or the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working for us. 'That belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.' According to The Daily Mail, a source claimed Hugh was 'blindsided' by Deborra's comments and 'extremely disappointed', alleging there had been 'an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press'.

Juliet Stevenson paints to switch off

Juliet Stevenson paints to switch off her brain. The 68-year-old actress - whose notable films include 1991's Truly, Madly, Deeply, 1996's Emma and 2002's Bend It Like Beckham - says being a working mum makes it harder to have time to meditate or practice yoga or Pilates, so she opts for painting. She told Yours magazine: "I'm not somebody who can meditate, I don't do yoga, I don't do Pilates. "I just don't have the time. I think when you're a working mum, that's it - you've got your job, and you've got your kids. "The thing that gets me to switch my brain off more than anything is painting, because you get so obsessed with that pile of colour. You can dive into it and not think about anything else." The BAFTA-nominated star finally married her partner Hugh Brody after 30 years together in 2021. The Olivier-winning actress tied the knot with writer/director Hugh, who is in his 80s, in 2021 after spending more than three decades as a couple and having two children together. Asked if getting married changed their relationship in anyway, she told the Guardian newspaper in 2024: "Absolutely nothing at all! "So many people said: 'Oh, I felt quite different once we got married', but that's not true for me." She added: "The only reason we did it is we're older now, and it made a sort of sense." Juliet feels incredibly "lucky" to still be madly in love after so many years together. She said: "To have weathered some of the most challenging storms, and actually love each other even more after many, many years, makes me feel incredibly lucky. "Love needs time and energy. It's the most important force in the world." The couple was struck by tragedy back in 2020 when Hugh's son from a previous marriage, Tomo Brody, died suddenly aged 37. Juliet previously admitted losing her stepson was very painful and "frightening". In a previous interview with the Guardian, she said: "Tomo was one of the most beautiful human beings who ever walked the Earth. He was incapable of lying. And he was amazingly good at love. Losing a child, it's so frightening."
