Gujarat Titans players are wearing special lavender jerseys against Lucknow Super Giants in their 13th league match of IPL 2025 currently underway at Narendra Modi Stadium.
Gujarat Titans are up against Lucknow Super Giants in the 64th league match of IPL 2025 on Thursday, May 22. The match is taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In their 13th league match of the ongoing season, GT players are wearing lavender jerseys.
For the third consecutive year, Gujarat Titans players are wearing special lavender jerseys as part of their initiative to fight against cancer.
According to GT's official website, the franchise has planned to distribute 30,000 lavender flags and 10,000 lavender jerseys to fans on Thursday to promote early detection and access to quality care for cancer patients. It further aims to promote awareness about cancer prevention and also encourage lifestyle changes and regular screenings for early diagnosis.
Gill wins toss
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the toss on Thursday and opted to field first. The hosts are playing with the same team that took the field on Sunday, May 18, against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and secured a win by 10 wickets. On the other hand, LSG have made two changes. Himmat Singh and Shahbaz Ahmed are part of the playing XI in place of Digvesh Singh Rathi and Ravi Bishnoi.
In the last IPL match played between the two teams at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 12, LSG chased down the target of 181 runs in 19.3 overs for the loss of four wickets. The Rishabh Pant-led side would like to come up with a big show in Ahmedabad as well and secure another win over the table-toppers.
