Person rescued after car goes down bank in North Auckland

A person has been rescued by firefighters after their car went off a bank in North Auckland.
The person was taken to hospital in a serious condition following the crash on Hibiscus Coast Highway at Puhoi.
Emergency services were called to the scene, between Schischka Rd and Fowler Access Rd, just before 5pm on Tuesday.
Fire and Emergency NZ said the car had gone off a bank and crews rescued one person trapped inside.

Five people were injured, one critically. Photo: RNZ / Cole Eastham-Farrelly Five people have been injured, one critically, in a serious two-vehicle crash in Clive in Hawke's Bay. Emergency services were called to the intersection of Mill and Richmond roads shortly before 9.30am on Sunday. Fire and Emergency shift manager Murray Dunbar said two people trapped in one of the vehicles had to be cut free. A St John ambulance spokesperson said five people were taken to hospital, one with critical injuries, while two patients were in a serious condition, and two others sustained moderate injuries. Police remain at the crash site and said both roads were closed with diversions in place.
