Dune: Prophecy Season 2 Filming Update Hints at Release Date Window
actor Josh Heuston recently shared an update regarding the filming of the show's Season 2, thus teasing its release date window. The prequel series of the Dune movies by Denis Villeneuve premiered its debut season on HBO in November 2024. Despite its huge hype among the franchise's fans, the HBO series met with mixed reception from critics and viewers.
The Heartbreak High actor, who portrays the role of Constantine Corrino in Dune: Prophecy, recently revealed the filming status of Season 2.
While speaking to Collider, Josh Heuston conveyed that he was part of the second installment. He added, 'Yes. Definitely in Season 2. We go back, I believe, in August, and then we're filming through the rest of the year.'
Heuston further shared more details regarding what fans can expect from his character in the upcoming season. He stated, 'I love playing Constantine. He's such a loose, fun character. And the way Season 1 ends, you can tell that he's probably going to go on a bit of a ride after that. So, yeah, I'm excited to jump back into those shoes.'
Although Heuston avoided spoiling the plot details, he said, 'Production has lots of secrecy around it, basically like the show. But I know that it will have all of the factions going against each other. I know that much at least.'
According to Screen Rant, in January 2025, Emily Watson, who portrays the character of Valya Harkonnen in Dune: Prophecy, also shared a filming update. She told the outlet, 'I think we are going to start in the fall, and I don't know anything [about Valya's story]. I know nothing, so I'm just as excited as you are.'
Season 1 of the series came out in November 2024, almost a year after it wrapped filming in December 2023. With Dune: Prophecy Season 2 starting filming in August 2025, the release date window of the next installment is speculated to fall in late 2026. However, if the sophomore season doesn't follow the same aforementioned pattern as its predecessor, the release date can also be pushed to early 2027.
Nevertheless, there is no official word from the makers yet about the release date window for Dune: Prophecy Season 2.

Feud rumors first circulated on the heels of comments by co-star Jason Isaacs, who repeatedly referred to 'social tensions' on the HBO drama's Thailand set. Those rumors were further inflamed by Goggins's physical separation from the rest of the ensemble cast, including Wood, post-wrap. As he explained to Variety, that distance wasn't personal: He's been preoccupied with production on Prime Video's Fallout season 2, and on the evening of The White Lotus season 3's finale, he was in New York for an appearance on a late-night show, far from his fellow cast members. In the latest chapter of showrunner Mike White's hit drama, Goggins and Wood play Rick and Chelsea, an unlikely pair of star-crossed lovers who meet a heart-breaking fate in the finale episode. During the Variety interview, in which Wood and Goggins were interviewed jointly, Goggins turned to Wood to express his sorrow at having missed the cast's finale watch party. 'I wish I would have been able to watch this with you,' he shared. 'It was so cathartic and so painful, and I regret that. I really do.' But as the two explained in the cathartic tell-all, they have nothing but love to share with each other, and their rumored 'feud' largely amounts to public misconception. 'I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,' Goggins said of Wood. 'This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I'll be on an island, I think Greece. But she's special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.' In the days leading up to Goggins's recent Saturday Night Live hosting gig, the comedy show revealed a skit in which Sarah Sherman played a parody version of Wood's White Lotus character, Chelsea, complete with a pair of prosthetic buck teeth. Wood later went on Instagram to describe the sketch as 'mean and unfunny,' while Goggins reposted the clip and complimented its humor. Many viewers interpreted this move as a not-so-subtle swipe at Wood. Goggins told Variety it was anything but, and that after he encountered Wood's hurt response, he 'felt awful and deleted his post.' 'I've been posting for 14 fucking years, and if I'm gonna say something, I'm gonna say it to your face,' Goggins said. 'I don't use social media in any way, and I'm not a mean guy.' Added Wood, 'I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a shite about Instagram.' Goggins also addressed why he unfollowed Wood on Instagram after The White Lotus wrapped, as well as his recent interview with the U.K.'s Times, which was published with the title, 'Walton Goggins: Aimee Lou Wood? I'm not gonna have that conversation.' Regarding the Times story, Goggins said he simply did not feel as if a solo interview was the right time and space to address his relationship with Wood. 'What am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never,' he said. Regarding Instagram, he explained that he unfollowed Wood as a way to distance himself not from Wood herself but from the experience of filming The White Lotus. 'My catharsis in this experience was different than other people's, because of my history in this place,' Goggins said of his time in Thailand, referencing his time spent traveling the country in the wake of his wife's suicide in 2004. 'I knew what [Aimee and I] had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea,' Goggins continued. 'And I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, this is what I've gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.' He continued, 'I needed to just back away from everyone. I haven't spoken to anyone [from the cast]. I couldn't handle it. Judge me or don't. I don't give a fuck what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that's what I needed to do for me to process all of this.' At the end of their conversation, Variety reports that Goggins re-followed Wood on Instagram, and that they embraced. 'I completely understand,' Wood told him. His response: 'I love you.' Patrick Schwarzenegger is still coming off the 'whirlwind of emotions' that was the making of 'The White Lotus' Season 3. The actor, who is taking part in a new campaign for Venmo with costar Aimee Lou Wood, spoke to CNN recently about how his perspective has changed since the release of the show, which saw his character Saxon go from loathsome finance bro to a vulnerable young man who realized he has a lot to learn. 'It was definitely a learning experience for me, being on this show,' Schwarzenegger said, adding that the viewership and engaged fandom – famous for its memes and fan theories -– was an experience 'that I've been never been part of.' As for his character – a 'grandiose alpha male that comes in grabbing his crotch and walking around naked,' in Schwarzenegger's words – he acknowledged that there were indeed some parallels between himself and who he portrayed, particularly in how they each were received by the viewing public over the course of the season. 'I think people did not like the character, and what happened was, a lot of people did not know who I was,' he said. '(They would) come up with their preconceived ideas of who I am or how I got the role' based, of course, on his famous last name. As the Mike White-created show went on, viewers learned that there was a lot more to Saxon than met the eye, and it was delivered via Schwarzenegger's capable acting chops – family name notwithstanding. 'It's a mistake to think you know a character that's in a Mike White show on day 1, or on week 2 or week 3,' he shared. Schwarzenegger called the show's creator 'very smart' in how he writes his characters, and 'how they change.' Or don't. 'It was fun for me to watch the hysteria of it all and how it evolved over time,' he said. And while he wasn't surprised that viewers received his character rather coolly at first, he was moved by how much they eventually warmed up to him. 'But I also did not know to what extent people were going to like Saxon,' he said. 'It was a very big roller coaster ride of people despising him to (him) becoming one of the most liked and enjoyed characters by the end, because he had a place to go to.' The same could be said of Schwarzenegger himself, who is slated to appear opposite Al Pacino in the feature 'Billy Knight,' according to his IMDb page. (The project is in post-production with no public release date set). The actor's famous father, however, might have some thoughts on any further on-screen nudity. In their conversation for Variety's 'Actors on Actors,' he once again sounded off on the topic spurred by Saxon's nude scene in the 'White Lotus' season 3 premiere, but this time, in a lovingly embarrassing that way only a father could. 'I'm watching your show, and I'm watching your butt sticking out there, and all of a sudden, I see the weenie,' the elder Schwarzenegger said. His son – and the Internet – howled with laughter. Russell Simmons Sues HBO For $20M Over ‘On The Record' Doc
Russell Simmons has launched a lawsuit against HBO for $20 million over the release of the 2020 documentary, On The Record , which detailed a number of he mogul's sexual assault allegations. Simmons also named the filmmakers behind the production of the documentary. Russell Simmons, 67, filed the lawsuit in a Manhattan court on Tuesday (June 3), naming HBO and On The Record direcctors, Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick as reported by Deadline . In the summons that was filed in court, Simmons' lawyer Imran Ansari laid out their offensive move. 'Despite voluminous support for Mr Simmons in the form of credible information, persuasive evidence, witness statements, and calls for further investigation by notable members of the media, politics, and the civil rights movement, the defendants simply disregarded it, and released, and continue to re-release globally, a film that tremendously disparaged and damaged Mr Simmons with salacious and defamatory accusations that he vehemently denies,' Ansari and co-counsel Carla DiMare shared in a statement. Although the statute of limitations for defamation has long since expired, Simmons and his team are hoping to move things in their favor because the documentary was shown in the global market, thus resetting the timeline. HBO sidestepped the lawsuit, calling it unfounded according to Deadline 's report. 'We dispute Mr. Simmons' allegations, stand by the filmmakers and their process, and will vigorously defend ourselves against these unfounded allegations,' a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery shared with the outlet.
