Hyderabad: In a move to strengthen relations between the two Telugu states, Telangana Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Manohar on Friday decided to amicably address the pending issues related to division of assets as per the AP Reorganization Act.
In a step forward, the AP Minister announced that the Andhra Pradesh government would hand over AP Civil Supplies Bhavan in Hyderabad to Telangana.
During the two-hour long meeting at the Civil Supplies Bhavan here, Uttam and Manohar also discussed various pending inter-state issues mainly curbing the smuggling of fine variety paddy to Telangana from AP, use of cutting-edge technology to check corruption in the fine rice distribution scheme to the white ration card holders without any leakages, the export of Telangana rice from Kakinada to Philippines, etc. Manohar said that the transfer of assets under the AP Reorganization Act were pending since 2014 and hence the AP came forward to handover the Civil Supplies Bhavan spread over 25,000 square feet in the city to the Telangana government.
'We want to maintain cordial relations with Telangana state', the AP Minister said, adding that the Telangana government would take possession of AP-owned building in the Civil Supplies Bhavan on June 1. Sixteen flats in the Shanti Shikara Apartment will also be given to Telangana state, he added. Uttam Kumar Reddy said his government was ready to extend all help in transferring modern technology to enhance the quality services to the people in the Civil Supplies wing.
Required facilities would be developed at Andhra ports to export Telangana rice to Asian countries, he said, adding that the recent unabated smuggling of the fine variety paddy to Telangana from Andhra was a cause of big concern for the two states. 'A mechanism would be developed by the two states to stop the paddy brokers from exploiting the Rs 500 bonus on the fine variety paddy scheme. Only genuine farmers from Telangana should benefit from the bonus scheme,' he said.

Stocks to buy or sell: Osho Krishan of Angel One suggests buying Paytm, Titagarh Rail shares today

Stock market today: India's main stock indexes opened higher on Thursday, reflecting gains from Asian counterparts, with declines in Treasury yields and the US dollar. The Nifty 50 increased by 0.29% to 24,691.2, while the BSE Sensex gained 0.24% to reach 81,196.08 as of 9:15 IST. On Wednesday, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) shifted to a buying position, purchasing equities worth ₹ 1,076.18 crore, based on exchange data. In Asian markets, South Korea's Kospi, Shanghai's SSE Composite index, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng were all performing positively, whereas Japan's Nikkei 225 index reported a decline. Domestically, investors are anticipating the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) policy announcement on Friday, where it is broadly expected that the central bank will reduce key lending rates by 25 basis points for the third consecutive meeting. Market analysts suggest that both geopolitical and economic developments may impact markets in the short term. A significant concern is the possibility of Russia retaliating in response to recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian aircraft. The severity of this situation and its consequences remain uncertain at this stage. Notably, the major economic news is the significant drop in the US ISM PMI data, indicating a pronounced slowdown in the US economy. The yield on the US 10-year bond has fallen to 4.36%, and in light of the decelerating US economy, it is expected to decline further. This trend could be beneficial for emerging markets like India in the medium term. The broader market kept the market participants active as we witnessed a slight improvement in the Advance-Decline ratio from the previous session. The benchmark index continued its struggles near the 20 DEMA for the entire session, highlighting the significance of these technical parameters. The current outlook for the index appears to be predominantly sideways, with no substantial movement expected until a decisive breakout occurs beyond the 24,700-24,800 zone, which could catalyse a favorable upward trend. On the other hand, recent market developments suggest that a support level around 24,550-24,500 is likely to materialize, providing a cushion for the index. Should this level be breached, it could lead to further corrective movements toward the bullish gap identified around 24,380 in the near term. This situation presents both challenges and potential opportunities for market participants and thus requires a pragmatic approach until the trend becomes clear. As we move forward, it is essential to adopt a stock-centric strategy, particularly during the current period of consolidation that continues to impact the indices. This approach should be accompanied by a strong emphasis on risk management to navigate the market effectively. On stocks to buy on Thursday, Osho Krishan of Angel One recommended two stocks - One 97 Communications Ltd (Paytm), and Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. Paytm share price has demonstrated a consolidation breakout after a brief consolidation above the cluster of its EMAs on the daily charts, indicating a robust upward trend. From a technical analysis perspective, the stock is currently exhibiting a pattern of 'Cup and Handle', supported by favorable indicators that enhance its bullish sentiment. Furthermore, considering the risk-reward dynamics, Paytm share price is in a favourable position and appears poised to maintain its upward trajectory in the near term. This situation presents a significant opportunity for investors seeking growth potential. Hence, we recommend to BUY Paytm shares around ₹ 930-920, keeping a stop loss of ₹ 885 for a potential Target of ₹ 1,000-1,020. Titagarh Rail Systems share price has recently emerged from a consolidation phase and is on the verge of a strong breakout, indicating an initial sign of a counter-trend. Additionally, the positive crossover observed between the 20-day and 50-day Exponential Moving Averages (DEMA) represents a favourable development in the technical analysis. This progression is further corroborated by positive movements in the 14-period RSI indicator, followed by pent-up trading volumes, suggesting a constructive outlook for the stock's performance. Hence, we recommend to BUY Titagarh Rail Systems share price around ₹ 920, keeping a stop loss of ₹ 870 for a potential Target of ₹ 1,000-1,040. Adani Group sees 29 pc rise in tax payments to Rs 75k cr in FY25

Last Updated: New Delhi, Jun 5 (PTI) Ports-to-energy conglomerate Adani Group saw a 29 per cent rise in tax outgo across portfolio companies to nearly Rs 75,000 crore, it said on Thursday. This includes both direct and indirect taxes paid, as well as payments towards employee social security. 'For fiscal year 2025 (April 2024 to March 2025 financial year), the Adani Group's total contribution to the exchequer increased by 29 per cent to Rs 74,945 crore, from Rs 58,104 crore in FY 2023-24, through its portfolio of listed entities," it said in a statement. The Rs 74,945 crore tax outgo in FY25 is roughly the cost of building the entire Mumbai Metro network – an infrastructure lifeline for millions of people. It's also nearly enough to host a modern-day Olympics. Of the total contribution of Rs 74,945 crore, direct contributions stood at Rs 28,720 crore, indirect contributions stood at Rs 45,407 crore, while other contributions added at Rs 818 crore. The conglomerate said that among its publicly listed entities, the leading contributors include Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL), Adani Cement Limited (ACL), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), and Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL). 'The details are covered in the independent annual reports published by seven of the group's listed entities – Adani Enterprises Limited, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited, Adani Green Energy Limited, Adani Energy Solutions Limited, Adani Power Limited, Adani Total Gas Limited, and Ambuja Cements Limited," the statement said. The figure also includes the tax paid by three other listed companies – NDTV, ACC and Sanghi Industries – that are held by the seven companies. The group has also published a document titled 'Basis of Preparation and Approach to Tax' on the websites of its seven entities, which provides a complete breakdown of Adani Group's global tax and other contributions, it said. It includes direct contributions like global taxes, duties, and other charges borne by Adani's portfolio of companies, indirect contributions like global taxes and duties collected and paid on behalf of other stakeholders, and other contributions like social security, contributed for the benefit of the employees. 'Adani Group considers tax transparency as an integral part of its broader ESG framework. Through this voluntary initiative, the Group aims to demonstrate its commitment to transparency, foster stakeholder trust, and contribute to a more accountable global tax environment. The group strives to harmonise growth with social responsibility, aiming to transform India's infrastructure landscape while promoting innovation and creating long-term value for stakeholders," the statement added.
