KDN FC need RM7m for new M-League season
KELANTAN Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) need an allocation of between RM6 and RM7 million to prepare for the 2025/2026 Malaysia League (M-League) season.
KDN FC president Rozi Muhamad said the amount is based on the advice and guidelines set by the Malaysian Football League (MFL), following the financial management challenges faced by the team last season.
He added that a restructuring process has been carried out involving officials and players to strengthen the team while a new management team has been established, consisting of individuals based on their vast experience in various fields, to ensure the club is better prepared for the upcoming season.
Rozi also announced that KDN FC has forged strategic collaborations with several parties, including sponsors and the state government, to ensure the club remain competitive.
'The club is actively addressing the licensing requirements as stipulated by the MFL and the First Instance Body (FIB), with 90 per cent of the process now completed,' he told reporters after the KDN FC Appreciation Night Dinner with sponsors and strategic partners here yesterday.
In addition, corporate figure Datuk Mohd Irwan Rizal Ali Napiah has also been appointed as the chief executive officer of KDN FC.

Former director charged with improper use of company property
SEREMBAN: A former company director pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here on Thursday (June 5) to eight charges of improper use of company property, amounting to RM153,609 between 2019 and 2020. He was also charged with four counts of committing a similar offence, involving RM10,000, RM10,000, RM15,000 and RM10,000 involving company property, to indirectly benefit him through a loan made to Tadika Universal Sdn Bhd, in which he has an interest, through Academy Adelphi Worldwide Hotels Sdn Bhd from Aug 6 to Oct 28, 2020. The offences were allegedly committed at a premises in Oakland Commerce Square here. The charges, framed under Section 218(1)(a) of the Companies Act 2016 and punishable under Section 218(2) of the same law, provide imprisonment for up to five years or a fine not exceeding RM3mil or both, if convicted. Chin was allowed bail of RM1,000 for each charge with one surety, and the court set July 31 for mention. Prosecuting officer Muhammad Akmal Azmi, from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), appeared for the prosecution, while lawyer Tan Zhi Xian represented Chin. – Bernama

Oasis Harvest to buy Chef Wan-branded restaurant, cafe chains for RM30.8 mil
KUALA LUMPUR: Oasis Harvest Corporation Bhd, a Bursa Malaysia-listed food and beverage (F&B) player, has proposed to acquire the entire equity interest in Metta Food & Lifestyle Sdn Bhd (Metta) for RM30.8 million. Metta is the operator of banquet-themed restaurants and cafes under the brands 1958 by Chef Wan and Cafe Chef Wan. In a statement today, Oasis Harvest executive director Ch'ng Eu Vern said the acquisition includes a profit guarantee from the vendors, ensuring Metta achieves a cumulative audited profit after tax of at least RM5.6 million over two years ending June 30, 2026. This reflectes strong confidence in the long-term growth and profitability of the enlarged group, he said. "This acquisition perfectly aligns with our strategic vision to diversify and strengthen our offerings in the F&B, travel, leisure, and hospitality sectors. Chef Wan's prominent brands will significantly complement and expand our existing portfolio," he added. According to Ch'ng, the strategic acquisition will enable Oasis Harvest to broaden its culinary offerings, benefiting from Metta's market recognition, operational expertise, and the prestigious reputation of international celebrity chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, famously known as Chef Wan. Post-acquisition, Oasis Harvest intends to streamline Metta's operations with existing brands such as Uncle Don's and Verona Trattoria. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Oasis Harvest said the purchase will be financed partly by reallocating existing proceeds from a proposed property disposal (RM6 million) and supplemented by bank borrowings (RM24.8 million). The proposed acquisition is deemed as a related party transaction as Datuk Seri Tan Ooi Han, who is Oasis Harvest executive director and major shareholder, is also a vendor as well as a director and shareholder of Metta. SCS Global Advisory (M) Sdn Bhd has been appointed as the independent adviser to advise the non-interested directors and non-interested shareholders of the company in relation to the proposed acquisition.
