New photos released to mark Charles and Camilla's 20th wedding anniversary
King Charles and Queen Camilla have released three official photographs to mark their 20th wedding anniversary.
The images were captured in Rome following the couple's arrival for a four-day state visit.
They show them shortly after landing at Ciampino Airport, having been escorted by an F-35 fighter jet.
The couple were photographed at the Villa Wolkonsky, the official residence of the UK's ambassador to Italy and San Marino, Edward Llewellyn.
Camilla is seen wearing a white and beige Anna Valentine coat.
Two photographs depict the couple near the Neronian arches, part of the Aqua Claudia, a Roman aqueduct, while one shows them in the gardens of the villa.
The royal couple's visit is expected to strengthen ties between the UK and Italy.
Their anniversary evening will be spent as guests of honour at a state banquet in Rome.
Charles and Camilla are expected to be joined by leading figures from Italian life at the black tie dinner, held as part of the couple's state visit.
The head of state and his consort wed in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on April 9, 2005 following a romance that began when they were in their early 20s.
Charles first met Camilla on Windsor Great Park polo field in 1970 when he had just left the University of Cambridge, a year before he joined the Royal Navy.
No marriage proposal came despite the closeness between the pair.
When the relationship cooled after Charles dedicated himself to his Navy career, Camilla wed cavalry officer Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973.
Charles later married Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981.
After Charles and Camilla both divorced – and Diana died in 1997 – Camilla's eventual emergence as Charles's long-term partner was part of a carefully planned PR campaign masterminded by the heir to the throne's spin doctor Mark Bolland.
Their first public appearance together was outside the Ritz hotel in London in 1999, dubbed Operation Ritz, where the mass of waiting photographers had been tipped off.
At their wedding reception, held the same day as the Grand National, Queen Elizabeth II said about their romance: 'They have overcome Becher's Brook and The Chair and all kinds of other terrible obstacles. They have come through and I'm very proud and wish them well.
'My son is home and dry with the woman he loves.'

King and Duchess of Edinburgh visit Royal Windsor Flower Show
Charles, who has a passion for gardening, stopped to smell the flowers during his visit to the show which is billed as 'a joyful one-day celebration of gardening, nature, food and traditional crafts'. Gardener Alan Titchmarsh, who is the honorary president of the Royal Windsor Rose & Horticultural Society, helped to welcome the royal party including the Duchess of Edinburgh who officially opened the event. The theme for this year's show, held at the York Club in Windsor Great Park, is Patterns in Nature' inspired by Charles's 2010 book called Harmony: A New Way Of Looking At Our World. The King's Foundation explains Charles's philosophy of harmony is aimed at understanding 'the balance, order and relationships between ourselves and the natural world' to 'create a more sustainable future'. It adds: 'The Harmony philosophy sees everything in nature as interconnected, including ourselves. 'This means taking a holistic approach to the challenges facing our planet, and looking to solve these challenges by working with nature, rather than against her.' Apart from looking at the displays Charles smiled and shook hands with members of the public and Sophie chatted with Chelsea pensioners. There were also expert talks, demonstrations and hands-on workshops on offer for those who attended. Saturday was the 118th edition of the show, which has Charles as its patron.

She elaborated: "He apparently absolutely loved them and then went back to go and tell his family what he'd found and he was met with bafflement and bemusement." This insight into Charles' relationship with Windsor Castle comes ahead of a significant reception at the estate later this month. On June 12, the King will be joined by five other royals including the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Princess Royal. However, Queen Camilla is not on the list, and no explanation has been provided for her absence, according to the Daily Express. At the upcoming event, 197 British businesses are set to be honoured for their accomplishments in four categories as part of The King's Award for Enterprise. Meanwhile, it isn't just Windsor Castle which is seeing a visit by the King, but Balmoral Castle too as plans were announced to open it to the public following a successful trial run in 2024. A statement on the official Balmoral Castle Instagram read: 'Following the historic opening of the castle's doors in the summer of 2024 — for the first time since its completion in 1855 — we are once again delighted to offer exclusive private tours, guided by our experienced team. "Journey through history, from Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's purchase of the Balmoral Estate to the present day. "You'll have the rare opportunity to view a selection of rooms within the Castle that are still used by Their Majesties The King and Queen, as well as other members of the Royal Family." King Charles is breaking with tradition by being the first modern-era monarch to make Balmoral accessible to the public, unlike his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, who kept it as a strictly private retreat.
