Due to their lack of progress towards a new deal, there has been major tension between the two parties. Many believe that they will part ways following the upcoming season.
Even though there are major differences between Cook and Buffalo, a major update was revealed on the playmaker on Tuesday.
Despite being involved in a contract dispute, Cook showed up to the team's mandatory minicamp, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
"Source: Bills RB James Cook, who has been seeking a new contract this off-season, is in attendance for today's mandatory minicamp," Schefter wrote on X.
Cook was a massive part of the Bills' offense last season. His presence took a lot of pressure off of superstar quarterback Josh Allen and the passing game.
In the 16 games he played in 2024, Cook carried the football 207 times for 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 258 yards and another two touchdowns.

Perhaps the two sides could still work out a new deal before the 2025 season. It would take compromise from both sides, but Cook clearly still values being a part of the team. Many players in his situation have decided to hold out in search of a new deal.
At just 25 years old, Cook is just getting started. He's just now entering his prime and will have a chance to be a star in the backfield wherever he plays for years to come.
Fans in Buffalo will be watching this situation as the 2025 season continues to draw closer. Hopefully, the two sides are able to work something out and pursue a championship this year.

Flacco appears to be no fan of the current social media landscape, but he also extended his media availability to discuss the good old days. While he wasn't walking up and down the rolling hills in 10 feet of snow to school, the quarterback did end up speaking about players who think offseason activities are too hard in the modern NFL. "I think this offseason I spent a lot of time kind of building back a base starting from scratch, so a lot of it was rehab and wanted to put myself in a position where I didn't miss a day of OTAs and I could practice and play football again, be healthy and not miss a day, and I did that." Last season, McCaffrey carried the football just 50 times for 202 yards and no touchdowns, while catching 15 passes for 146 yards in four games. Back in 2023, he racked up 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns on 272 carries to go along with 67 receptions for 564 yards and seven more scores. He's been through a lot, but he's in great health and spirits entering the upcoming year as he looks to rebound and get his career back on track.
