The Buffalo Bills are heading into an important 2025 NFL season. After being so close to the Super Bowl in recent years, the window of contention is still open.
Last season, the Bills came up just short in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs. They made a few moves this offseason to change up the roster, but there are major questions that still need to be answered.
One of those questions happens to involve running back James Cook.

Due to their lack of progress towards a new deal, there has been major tension between the two parties. Many believe that they will part ways following the upcoming season.
Even though there are major differences between Cook and Buffalo, a major update was revealed on the playmaker on Tuesday.
Despite being involved in a contract dispute, Cook showed up to the team's mandatory minicamp, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
"Source: Bills RB James Cook, who has been seeking a new contract this off-season, is in attendance for today's mandatory minicamp," Schefter wrote on X.
Cook was a massive part of the Bills' offense last season. His presence took a lot of pressure off of superstar quarterback Josh Allen and the passing game.
In the 16 games he played in 2024, Cook carried the football 207 times for 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 258 yards and another two touchdowns.

Perhaps the two sides could still work out a new deal before the 2025 season. It would take compromise from both sides, but Cook clearly still values being a part of the team. Many players in his situation have decided to hold out in search of a new deal.
At just 25 years old, Cook is just getting started. He's just now entering his prime and will have a chance to be a star in the backfield wherever he plays for years to come.
Fans in Buffalo will be watching this situation as the 2025 season continues to draw closer. Hopefully, the two sides are able to work something out and pursue a championship this year.

Joe Flacco talks about 'embarrassing' TikTok dances: 'Be an adult'

Joe Flacco is the elder statesman of the Cleveland Browns quarterback room. Having just turned 40 in January, Flacco has morphed into the "back in my day guy" and is now just one step away from telling the young whippersnappers to get off his lawn. Flacco has embraced that youthful energy in the twilight of his NFL career, taking the opportunity to pose for a fun photo at media day with rookie, Dillon Gabriel. Advertisement Regardless, he continued to provide plenty of entertainment for the media following Wednesday's minicamp practices, turning the session into a chat about social media, TikTok and posting dancing videos online. Flacco began discussing Twitter, now known as X, as it has evolved into a primary source of news. "The difference now is, everybody's getting their stuff from there, and it's treated a little bit more seriously because that is the main news source," Flacco said, via 92.3 The Fan's Daryl Ruiter. "You still have the same thing you always had, which is a million different opinions, but it kind of blends your actual news source with a bunch of other stuff." The quarterback went on to say that Instagram is the only social media platform he's used and made one thing clear –don't expect him to show up in a TikTok dancing video anytime soon. Advertisement "No TikTok dances," Flacco said. "The fact that people want to get on their phones and show people. That's embarrassing! You're an adult. Be an adult. I can't wrap my head around that." He followed up with some advice for the parents. "I get it, you have kids and you wanna have fun with your kids," Flacco added. "Like, have fun with your kids in private." Flacco appears to be no fan of the current social media landscape, but he also extended his media availability to discuss the good old days. While he wasn't walking up and down the rolling hills in 10 feet of snow to school, the quarterback did end up speaking about players who think offseason activities are too hard in the modern NFL. Advertisement "We're out there for an hour 15 minutes and guys think it's hard," Flacco said via Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein, referencing the two-a-days that used to be commonplace in the NFL. He went on to add that organized team activities (OTAs) used to be over two hours, highlighting just how much has changed since he entered the league in 2008. In other words, Flacco was in a reminiscing mood as the Super Bowl champion prepares for his 18th season in the league. Former Georgia LB Nakobe Dean throws out first pitch for top Braves rival

Former Georgia LB Nakobe Dean throws out first pitch for top Braves rival Former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Nakobe Dean threw out the first pitch of the Philadelphia Phillies' June 11 home game against the Chicago Cubs. Dean won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles this past NFL season. Dean took advantage of an awesome opportunity to throw a first pitch at a MLB game, which is something most people never get a chance to do. Dean delivered with a pretty good pitch after receiving applause from Philadelphia fans. Georgia fans that are also Atlanta Braves fans may not be ecstatic to see Dean throw out a first pitch for another MLB team, especially since the Phillies are one of the Braves' most hated NL East rivals. However, the chance to throw out a first pitch is not one that almost anybody should ever pass up. Dean, who is from Horn Lake, Mississippi, is not necessarily a Braves fan. Dean delivered the first pitch despite recovering from a torn patellar tendon he suffered during NFL postseason. He has been unable to participate in spring practice with the Eagles and definitely took it easy on his first pitch. Interestingly, Dean has been doing some ballet as part of his rehab to recover from the injury. Dean's first pitch Follow UGAWire on Instagram!

49ers' Christian McCaffrey Speaks Out With Major Injury Update

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The 2024 NFL season was a tough one for San Francisco 49ers superstar running back Christian McCaffrey. Despite huge expectations, injuries completely ruined the year for him. At the beginning of the season, McCaffrey was dealing with Achilles tendonitis. He was able to come back from that injury, but only played four games and went down with an injury to the PCL in his knee. Going through two separate injuries like those in one season is a lot to handle. Despite that fact, McCaffrey has worked hard to recover and is ready to get back to dominating opposing defenses during the upcoming 2025 season. After making a run to the Super Bowl during the 2023 season and losing to the Kansas City Chiefs, the team missed the playoffs last season. That hasn't sat well with them. He's ready to make that happen. On Wednesday, the star running back spoke out with a major update about his current injury status and how he's feeling. "I feel great," McCaffrey said. "I think this offseason I spent a lot of time kind of building back a base starting from scratch, so a lot of it was rehab and wanted to put myself in a position where I didn't miss a day of OTAs and I could practice and play football again, be healthy and not miss a day, and I did that." Last season, McCaffrey carried the football just 50 times for 202 yards and no touchdowns, while catching 15 passes for 146 yards in four games. Back in 2023, he racked up 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns on 272 carries to go along with 67 receptions for 564 yards and seven more scores. Having him back at full health will help the overall team success, but the big winner will also be quarterback Brock Purdy. With his star running back in the backfield, a lot of pressure will fall off of his shoulders. Hopefully, the 29-year-old superstar will be able to stay healthy for the entirety of the 2025 season. He's been through a lot, but he's in great health and spirits entering the upcoming year as he looks to rebound and get his career back on track.
