Zionist Knesset approves bill targeting human rights organizations

Saba Yemen19-02-2025
Occupied al-Quds- Saba:
The so-called General Assembly of the Zionist Knesset approved Wednesday in a preliminary reading by a majority of 47 members and 19 opposition, a bill stipulating that the Supreme Court is not obligated to consider petitions submitted by human rights organizations that receive donations from foreign countries.
This bill comes in an attempt to prevent human rights organizations from documenting and exposing war crimes committed by the Zionist enemy.
According to the bill, the Zionist courts will not be obligated to consider requests submitted by human rights associations or bodies that are fully or partially funded by foreign countries.
The bill stipulates that donations received by human rights associations and organizations from foreign countries will be subject to an income tax of 80%, unless the Minister of Finance decides otherwise, and with the approval of the Finance Committee in the Knesset.
The bill also stipulates that it does not apply to public institutions funded by the state budget.
MK Ariel Kleiner of the Likud party, who introduced the bill, claimed that 'these organizations are not human rights organizations, but rather organizations that delegitimize' Israel's policies against the Palestinians, and that they 'turn the Zionist courts into an arena for foreign countries. This is a funded judicial coup against Israel.'

European Commissioner Demands Israel End Starvation Tactics in Gaza

Brussels – SABA Hadjah Lahbib, EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management, on Sunday called on Israel to immediately end its policy of starving civilians in Gaza and to allow unrestricted humanitarian aid access. In a post on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Lahbib described the humanitarian suffering in Gaza as 'horrific', stressing that denying food and medicine to civilians is a grave violation of humanitarian values. 'The scale of the humanitarian disaster in Gaza is shocking,' Lahbib wrote. 'Humanity must prevail. Aid must be allowed in — fully, immediately, and without restrictions.' Her remarks come as Palestinians in Gaza face unprecedented famine, triggered by Israel's closure of all crossings since March 2025 and tight restrictions on food, medicine, fuel, and relief aid. Shops are empty. Bread has become a rare commodity. Prices of basic goods have skyrocketed, and death by starvation is now a dominant cause of death in the besieged territory. Humanitarian agencies and rights groups have repeatedly warned that the situation in Gaza constitutes deliberate starvation, which under international law may amount to a war crime. Lahbib's statement adds to a growing number of voices within the EU demanding Israel end its blockade and comply with international humanitarian law. Yemen's Houthis claims Triple Drone Strikes on Israeli Targets

Sana'a — Yemen's Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for three coordinated drone attacks targeting strategic sites across Israel, marking a significant escalation in their military campaign linked to the ongoing Gaza conflict. According to Houthi military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the operations struck Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, and the port of Haifa, using unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Yemen. Saree stated that all three attacks 'successfully reached their goals,' describing them as part of the group's continued support for Palestinians in Gaza. The Israeli military confirmed intercepting at least one drone over southern Israel, while local media reported explosions near key infrastructure sites. No casualties have been officially reported, but investigations are ongoing. These strikes come amid the Houthis' broader campaign to disrupt maritime traffic linked to Israel. The group has previously targeted commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait, warning that any company dealing with Israeli ports could face attacks.

Occupation kills 58 Palestinians since dawn

Gaza – Saba: Fifty-eight Palestinian civilians were martyred and dozens of others injured on Sunday in ongoing Israeli attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip since dawn, according to medical, local, and media sources monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba). Israeli enemy forces targeted aid distribution centers, neighborhoods, homes, and civilian gatherings across Gaza in what observers describe as part of a continuing genocide campaign since October 7, 2023. Seven Palestinians were martyred by Israeli enemy gunfire while waiting for aid in the southern Gaza Strip, and another was martyred after the Zionist army directly targeted al-Tineh aid center in northwest Rafah. Two Palestinians were martyred and others wounded in an Israeli enemy airstrike on humanitarian aid security personnel near the intelligence area in northwest Gaza City. Medical and civil defense teams recovered the bodies of 22 martyrs from al-Shuja'iya and al-Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City, including five martyred in a new strike on a civilian gathering in al-Zaytoun neighborhood. Elsewhere, 20 Palestinians were martyred and 44 injured when Israeli enemy forces opened fire on crowds waiting for aid at two distribution points in central and southern Gaza. Among them were: 9 martyrs west of Rafah, 6 on Salah al-Din Street in central Wadi Gaza, and 5 in al-Sudaniyya in northern Gaza. Three civilians were also martyred in an Israeli airstrike on a gathering in Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood in Gaza City. Earlier in the day, two Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli occupation strike on al-Amal School in Khan Younis's Japanese neighborhood. Meanwhile, a staff member of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society was martyred and three others injured in an Israeli strike on the association's headquarters, which ignited a fire on the building's first floor. With U.S. and European support, Israeli occupation continues to wage a genocidal war on Gaza that has, to date, resulted in the martyrdom of 60,839 civilians—mostly women and children—and injured 149,588 others, according to a non-final tally. Thousands remain trapped under rubble or on roadways unreachable by rescue teams. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
