Zoey Stark injury update: WWE star could be out for rest of 2025
WWE Superstar Zoey Stark has reportedly suffered a serious knee injury during this week's Monday Night RAW and may be sidelined for the rest of 2025. The 31-year-old was part of a high-stakes Triple Threat match to qualify for the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The match featured Stark, Rhea Ripley, and a returning Kairi Sane. Midway through the bout, Stark attempted a missile dropkick on Sane but landed awkwardly, jamming her surgically repaired knee. The visible distress on her face prompted officials to immediately intervene and escort her backstage for medical attention.
Surgery likely as injury raises concerns
Initial reports indicate that Stark may require knee surgery once again, echoing her 2021 injury which also kept her out for months.
Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has reported that WWE is preparing to be without Stark for the remainder of the calendar year. This sentiment has been echoed by Dr. Chris Featherstone and other backstage insiders.
Following the incident, Stark took to social media to thank fans for their support. 'What hurts more than my knee is knowing I won't be able to perform for all of you for a while,' she wrote on X. 'As the saying goes, the comeback is greater than the setback.'
WWE veteran Dutch Mantell weighed in on the incident during his podcast, suggesting that Kairi Sane may have been responsible for the mistimed spot. 'There's no way to adjust once you're in the air… the adjustment has to come from the one taking the move,' he said, pointing fingers at Sane.
While not officially confirmed, reports also suggest that Stark was originally scheduled to take the fall in the match. Her removal prompted a shift in plans, with Rhea Ripley pinning Kairi Sane to win the bout.

Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez revealed that the second half of the match had to be called on the fly, which saw Sane unexpectedly taking the pinfall despite her recent return.
Zoey Stark made her WWE debut in 2021, quickly rising through the ranks in NXT and later the main roster. Her pairing with Io Shirai (now Iyo Sky) led to a successful run as NXT Women's Tag Team Champions before her initial knee injury.
This latest setback comes at a crucial time in her career and could impact WWE's ongoing plans in the women's division. While no official statement has been made regarding the severity of her injury, fans and superstars alike are rallying behind Stark, wishing her a speedy recovery.

Rey Mysterio details double injury setback before WrestleMania 41
Image via WWE WWE legend Rey Mysterio has opened up about a pair of injuries that kept him out of action during WrestleMania 41, shedding light on his sudden removal from a planned singles match against El Grande Americano. The high-flying veteran was originally slated to face the masked alter ego of Chad Gable at the marquee event. However, on the final episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania, Mysterio suffered a torn groin and was pulled from the card. Speaking to Jim Varsallone in a recent interview, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he was also dealing with a busted eardrum at the time. Rey Mysterio keeps the heat on 'I'm actually still recovering from the injury I suffered just before WrestleMania - a torn groin and a busted eardrum. But I still love what I do,' said Mysterio, who was recently honored with the Legend Impact Award at the National Hispanic Media Coalition's Impact Gala. Rey Mysterio, Brenda Victoria Castillo talk National Hispanic MC Legend Impact Award, WWE, AAA, Dom The 49-year-old was replaced by Rey Fenix in the WrestleMania bout, where the babyface team - also featuring Dragon Lee. emerged victorious over American Made. Despite being sidelined, Mysterio's interview has kept him in the headlines, thanks to a light-hearted jab aimed at his on-screen son, Dominik Mysterio. While the injuries sidelined him physically, Mysterio remained sharp on the mic. During a rapid-fire segment in the same interview, he was asked if Dominik could ever surpass his legacy in AAA Wrestling. Without missing a beat, Rey leaned into their long-running WWE storyline: 'Dirty Dom? Dirty Dom needs a spanking with a chancla and a belt.' The culturally resonant quip, referencing a common Latino disciplinary tool, drew laughter from the hosts but also sent a clear message - the family feud is far from over. WWE x AAA: Could the rivalry spill into 'Worlds Collide'? The timing of Mysterio's comment is interesting, especially in the context of WWE's recent acquisition of AAA Wrestling, a historic move that opens doors for crossover rivalries and fresh storylines. The upcoming WWE x AAA: Worlds Collide event is being promoted as a celebration of global wrestling styles and legacies, with both Rey and Dominik Mysterio prominently featured in the early marketing campaigns. Dom Mysterio talks WWE Tampa Takeover, IC Win, Attitude Era, Judgment Day, Carlito, AAA, Omos, Miami Although Rey has not disclosed whether he'll be wrestling or appearing in a different capacity, fans are already speculating that the father-son feud could take center stage at the international showcase. Rey's deep roots in lucha libre and Dominik's current run as Intercontinental Champion present a compelling contrast, offering creative opportunities for a legacy vs. rebellion narrative to unfold on a bigger stage. Dominik, now firmly entrenched in his heel persona as part of The Judgment Day, has not shied away from provocation. In a separate interview, he boldly claimed to have already eclipsed his father's legacy in WWE and expressed a desire to 'sh** all over Rey Mysterio' in AAA as well. The comment raised eyebrows and further fueled fan interest in a possible in-ring confrontation. For now, both stars remain on separate paths - but in the world of professional wrestling, it often takes just one moment to bring everything crashing back together. Fans will be watching closely to see whether that moment arrives at Worlds Collide.

Sweden's Maja Stark wins the U.S. Women's Open for her first major championship
ERIN, Wis. — Maja Stark of Sweden continued the steady play she demonstrated all week to win the U.S. Women's Open on Sunday at Erin Hills for her first major championship. Stark shot an even-par 72 to finish at 7-under 281, two strokes ahead of top-ranked Nelly Korda and Japan's Rio Takeda. Stark earned $2.4 million in the biggest event of the women's golf season. The 25-year-old Stark became the sixth Swede to win a women's major, and the first since Anna Nordqvist in the 2021 Women's British Open. The former Oklahoma State player is the first Swede to win a U.S. Women's Open since Annika Sorenstam in 2006. Stark won her second second LPGA Tour title. She also won the 2022 ISPS Handa World Invitational in Northern Ireland, an event co-sanctioned by Ladies European Tour. Korda closed with a 71, and Takeda had a 72. Hye-Jin Choi , Ruoning Yin and Mao Saigo tied for fourth at 4 under. Hailee Cooper and Hinako Shibuno were 3 under. Stark took a one-stroke lead into the final round and had said Saturday she wanted to make sure she played freely, noting that 'no one has ever played well when they've been playing scared, and I think that's been my habit before, to just kind of try to hang on to it.' It was her consistency that ultimately made the difference as Stark stayed ahead throughout the day and held off the challengers. This still was as close as Korda has come to winning a U.S. Women's Open. Her best previous finish was a tie for eighth place in 2022 at Pine Needles. Korda made birdied Nos. 7 and 8, but missed a 9-foot birdie putt on No. 9 that would have tied her for the lead. Korda's birdie attempt on No. 9 came minutes after Stark's bogey-free streak ended at 21 on No. 7. Stark then extended her lead to three by making a 14-foot birdie putt on No. 11 immediately after Korda missed a par putt of just under 5 feet at No. 13. Korda, Shibuno and Takeda got within two strokes of Stark with birdies on the par-5 14th, though Korda missed a 14-foot eagle putt and Shibuno missed an eagle attempt from 9 1/2 feet. Stark then made a birdie of her own on No. 14 to regain her three-stroke advantage at 9 under. She bogeyed the last two holes. Her playing partner, Julia Lopez Ramirez, fell out of contention early on her way to 79 that left her tied for 19th. Lopez Ramirez had a triple bogey on 18. golf: /hub/golf
