Are Rachel and Siya Kolisi back together? Viral airport video fuels romance rumours

Mzansi netizens eager for a reunion speculate whether Siya and Rachel Kolisi are back together after Siya was spotted walking next to a woman at the airport. Image: Supplied South African Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has sent social media into a frenzy after a video of him walking alongside a woman resembling his ex-wife, Rachel Kolisi, went viral. The clip was shared by a fan, @meagsypoo, who spotted Kolisi while travelling economy with the team at O.R. Tambo International Airport on Sunday. 'Yes, the game was good, but did you share a flight with the bokke the next day?' read the title of the TikTok, which quickly garnered close to half a million views. The video showcased the Springboks, who had just celebrated a victory over Ireland at Loftus Versfeld the previous evening. The fan, who admitted to feeling too shy to ask for a photo with the rugby stars, described her experience as 'stalking them like a weirdo instead'. Despite her reluctance to approach the players, her TikTok post captures a moment of excitement for rugby fans. As the video circulated, eager netizens began speculating whether Kolisi had rekindled his relationship with Rachel. Video Player is loading. Another user, @ilovejubah, quipped, 'Siya on the hunt for Rachel 2.0,' while @kamo_kula confidently stated, 'That was definitely Rachel!!!!!' However, some observers noted that the woman in the video might be Kate Woods, the director of Adidas South Africa, rather than Rachel. The resemblance sparked a flurry of online chatter about the Springboks captain's personal life. Siya and Rachel announced their divorce in October 2024, citing mutual respect and love as the foundation for their decision. They expressed their commitment to co-parenting their children and continuing their work together on the Kolisi Foundation, despite ending their marriage. The news left many South Africans heartbroken, as the couple had been beloved figures in the rugby community. Despite the speculation surrounding this recent airport sighting, it seems Kolisi remains focused on his role as both a father and team captain.

Springboks have plenty of homework to complete ahead of second Test against Italy

Player of the Match Morne van den Berg of South Africa battled to get clean ball at the breakdown against Italy at Loftus Versfeld this past weekend. Photo: Timothy Bernard Independent Media Image: Timothy Bernard Independent Media Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus did not mince his words in the post-match press conference following his side's unconvincing 42-24 victory over a spirited Italy at Loftus Versfeld. Erasmus conceded that the performance had not met the world champions' standards — and there's little doubt the players received a stern dressing-down in the change room. So what can we expect to change from the Boks in this week's second Test? Video Player is loading. Advertisement Next Stay Close ✕ Clean up the breakdown Italy coach Gonzalo Quesada outwitted the Boks at the breakdown — and he did it with precision. The Azzurri committed numbers and played with ferocity, frequently blasting the Boks off the ball or slowing it down. Without quick ball, the Springboks' attacking ambitions faltered. Expect Monday's training to be breakdown-focused, with a clear directive to restore order at the ruck. Play with width Against Italy, the Boks reverted to a more direct style, likely influenced by the opposition and the absence of key players. But the Tony Brown-influenced approach relies on width and tall, powerful carriers in the wider channels. The return of Siya Kolisi and Pieter-Steph du Toit this week will likely see them deployed as wide ball-carriers to stretch the defence and create space. The Italians scored a try from a line-out-maul against the Springboks. Photo: Timothy Bernard Independent Media Image: Timothy Bernard Independent Media Shore up the maul defence A 20-metre rolling maul try from Italy? That's not a sight many would expect to see. The Springboks' pride will have taken a hit when their vaunted pack was driven backwards. It may have stemmed from a technical lapse — but whatever the cause, it's unlikely to be repeated. This week, the lineout and maul defence will be a non-negotiable focus. Marco van Staden scores for the Springboks. Photo: Backpagepix Image: Backpagepix Play for 80 minutes South Africa looked poised for a rout at 28-3 up at half-time, but they failed to sustain their dominance. Italy fought back and narrowed the deficit to just 11 points late in the match. Erasmus admitted in his presser that playing for only 50 to 60 minutes is unacceptable at Test level. You can be sure that this message will be delivered with added bluntness in the first team meeting of the week. Rg Snyman of South Africa. Photo: Backpagepix Image: Backpagepix Fire up the Bomb Squad For once, the Bomb Squad misfired — and they'll know it. Quesada's so-called 'Grenade Squad' outmuscled the South Africans off the bench. The Boks' replacements take great pride in their impact, and their collective pride will have been wounded. Expect a fierce response from the bench this week, with a renewed intent to dominate the final quarter. Erasmus and his coaching team have plenty to address — but also plenty of firepower returning to the mix. In front of a passionate Eastern Cape crowd, the Boks will be desperate to reassert their dominance and silence any lingering doubts.

Tour de France: Jasper Philipsen good value for another stage win

Monday's 178km Stage 3 is from Valenciennes to Dunkirk and is likely to end with a bunch sprint into the historic town of World War 2 fame. The Tour de France is in full swing, with Monday's stage set to end in another bunch print finish. Picture: Anne-Christine Poujoulat / AFP Four legs gives way to two wheels. After excitement overload at the weekend, headlined by the 2025 Durban July, local horse racing takes a break with a blank Monday in the programme. It's a chance for punters to relax and switch focus. The Tour de France, the world's premier cycle race, set off on its three-week journey on Saturday. Traversing the French countryside, towns and cities, it's a relaxing watch on TV while also offering betting opportunities for competitive-spirited sports fans. Every day of the Tour is a new race for the 180-odd competitors. 'Odd' is appropriate as these guys are fit to the point of insanity. The trick for bettors is to match the stage to the rider. Monday's 178km Stage 3 is from Valenciennes to Dunkirk and is likely to end with a bunch sprint into the historic town of World War 2 fame. The winner of Stage 1, also a sprint finish, speed merchant Jasper Philipsen, is one of the obvious favourites to consider at a generous R4.00 for a win with Betway. The bookmaker's favourite is Tim Merlier at R2.60, ahead of Jonathan Milan at R3.20. All three of these riders have been in good form this season. Philipsen had a very efficient lead-out from his teammates in Stage 1, but that finish was a chaotic affair that worked against the other fast men – something unlikely to happen twice running. For anyone in search of value, Biniam Ghirmay at R15.00 and Kaden Groves at R67.00 could be interesting. The winner of Sunday's hilly Stage 2, Mathieu van der Poel (R34.00), is no mean sprinter himself and is clearly in fighting mood. But he might fancy an easy day after his efforts. Hot overall Tour de France favourite Tadej Pogacar (R1.40) finished second in Stage 2 but is not likely to be challenging on Monday – as reflected by his stage odds of R81.00. Pogacar will make his presence felt again on Stage 5 on Wednesday, a tough time trial around the city of Caen.
