Georgina Bailey's weight loss journey is not just about losing weight and cutting down on kilos, it's a story of rediscovering life. At one point, she weighed 114 kilos and wore a size 20.
Running even a single kilometre felt impossible. But in just 18 months, she turned her life around with the help of her coach, Johnny.
Today, Georgina weighs 69 kilos, runs marathons, and glows with self-love and energy. But what truly stands out is her transparency; she doesn't talk about shortcuts or magic formulas. Instead, she shares habits that worked slowly but surely. Here are some realistic and natural steps she swears by.
Fat loss isn't about starvation, it's about smart protein choices
A common belief floating around is that one must eat less to lose weight. But Georgina's routine tells a different story. She didn't give up food, she made smarter swaps. One key change was understanding the role of protein.
Instead of loading up on high-fat protein sources, she leaned on leaner options like chicken breast, white fish, and prawns. These gave her the fullness she needed without piling on unnecessary calories.

Different protein sources have varying calorie and fat content. Choosing
lean proteins
allows larger portions without exceeding calorie goals. This is especially helpful for people who enjoy "volume eating", feeling full while staying in a calorie deficit.
Keep meals simple, high-protein, and quick
One doesn't need fancy superfoods or expensive powders to stay fit. Georgina regularly shares quick recipes like her Easy Prawn Fried Rice, which packs 28 grams of protein in just 512 calories.
This meal, made with everyday ingredients, rice, peas, prawns, soy sauce, and miso paste, comes together in under 10 minutes and still supports fat loss goals.
The body needs protein to maintain muscle during fat loss. Meals like this are proof that high-protein doesn't mean boring. Balanced meals, when cooked mindfully, can be both satisfying and fat-loss friendly.
Regular exercise is important for your overall wellness.
Consistency over intensity, fitness that grows with the person
Georgina didn't jump into extreme workouts or rigid gym routines.
In the beginning, she couldn't even run a kilometre. But with patience and consistency, she built up her stamina and eventually ran a full marathon.
This shows that progress doesn't come from pushing too hard, but from showing up regularly, even on tough days.
Slow and steady
exercise, when done consistently, improves endurance and metabolism. It's not about how intense the workout is at first, but about forming a rhythm the body can adapt to over time.
Falling in love with the process, not just the outcome
Perhaps the most powerful part of Georgina's story is her shift in mindset. At the end of 18 months, she didn't just lose weight, she fell in love with staying fit and healthy.
She openly admits that she never imagined she would enjoy this lifestyle. But the truth is, she didn't chase a finish line, she found joy in the process.
Lasting weight loss comes not from punishment or pressure, but from building habits that feel sustainable. When
movement
and eating well become a part of daily life, the body responds naturally, and happily.

Samosa, jalebi join cig ranks, statutory warning to roll soon

Nagpur: Move over cigarette packs with scary photos. Nagpur's beloved samosas, jalebis, and chai biscuits might soon carry their own version of health warnings — at least on the walls near where you buy them. In a move that signals the start of what doctors long predicted — that sugary and oily foods will eventually carry health warnings just like tobacco — the ministry of health and family welfare has ordered all central institutions, including AIIMS Nagpur, to install 'Oil and Sugar Boards'. These are brightly coloured posters revealing just how much hidden fat and sugar lurk in everyday snacks. Officials at AIIMS Nagpur confirmed they have received the circular and are preparing to roll out these boards across cafeterias and public spaces. "It's the beginning of food labelling becoming as serious as cigarette warnings," said Dr Amar Amale, president of the Nagpur chapter of the Cardiologic Society of India. "We've been saying for years that sugar and trans fats are the new tobacco. People deserve to know what they're eating. " The govt letter points to alarming numbers: over 44.9 crore Indians could be overweight or obese by 2050, making India the world's second-largest hub of obesity. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cách giao dịch ETH/USD mà không cần nắm giữ Ether IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo In cities, already one in five adults is overweight. The rising tide of childhood obesity, fuelled by poor diets and sedentary lifestyles, adds to the worry. The initiative, officials say, is part of the fight against non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease — many of which have strong links to excess sugar and oil in the diet. The boards, once installed, will act like silent but stern sentinels in central offices and institutions — reminding people that the innocent-looking laddoo could be loaded with enough sugar to sabotage your health goals. "This is not about banning food," said Dr Sunil Gupta, senior diabetologist. "But if people knew that one gulab jamun might contain five teaspoons of sugar, they might think twice before going for seconds." The move echoes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Fit India' pitch, including his call for a 10% cut in oil use. Now, Nagpur is gearing up to put that message front and centre — even if it means some awkward stares at the office snack counter. So, the next time you reach for that samosa in a govt canteen, don't be surprised if a colourful board nearby politely whispers: "Eat wisely. Your future self will thank you."

CWC to govt: Establish care, support centre for pregnant minor girls

Mysuru: The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Mysuru has appealed to the state govt to establish a dedicated care and support centre for minor girls who become pregnant or mothers, addressing a critical gap in the welfare system. In a letter to the principal secretary of the department of women and child welfare, the CWC highlighted the increasing challenges faced by minor mothers and pregnant girls, who are currently rehabilitated in govt children's homes for girls due to the absence of specialised facilities. Meanwhile, activists urged the state govt to form a policy for the care and a support system for these minor pregnant women and new mothers along with their children. CWC Mysuru reports that the city sees 3-4 cases of minor pregnancies each month, driven by rising child marriages and Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) cases. These minors, along with their children, require sensitive, specialised care that the existing children's homes are not equipped to provide. "It is not legally appropriate to house minor mothers and their infants in children's homes for girls," stated CWC member Mahadeva Kote. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "These girls need tailored medical, psychological, and legal support to navigate their unique circumstances." "The needs of minor mothers and their children are distinct and complex," he emphasised. "A dedicated facility in Mysuru would ensure proper rehabilitation, emotional support, and a secure future for both mother and child," he said. An activist who wished not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter underscored the urgency of the issue, noting that the absence of a clear policy leaves these girls in limbo. "This is a highly sensitive matter, and the govt must act swiftly to formulate a dedicated welfare policy," she urged. The lack of a dedicated centre leaves minor mothers and pregnant girls vulnerable, often without adequate counselling, healthcare, or legal guidance. In many cases, these girls are abandoned by their families, exacerbating their plight, she said.
