The accused have been identified as Mustafa Mobin Khan and Mustakim Mobim Khan, both residents of Nuh district in Haryana. Police also booked their associates who escaped from the spot by car including Yusuf Khan, Varis Khan and brother of Yusuf, Azad Khan. Police investigation revealed that Yusuf Khan is a gang leader, who operates a gang from Haryana and is involved in many bank ATM robberies reported in many states across the country.
During night patrolling police constable Samadhan Patavkar and Kiran Patil noticed a suspicious car and when they were approaching the car, the accused escaped from the spot towards Alandi. At a nearby ATM, police noticed suspicious activities. Immediately, the police informed the seniors.
When police opened the shutter of the ATM, they found two individuals trying to break the ATM by using a gas cutter. They abused the police and threw stones at the constables. However, the police overpowered them with the help of locals.
Vikram Bansode, SPI at Dehu Road Police station said, 'Accused were part of an ATM theft gang operating in various parts of the state including Maharashtra.''
Police have recovered tools used in the crime, including a gas cutter, iron rods, and other equipment. A case has been filed at Dehu Road police station under BNS sections 310(2), 312, 132.

A 46-year-old man was arrested for allegedly throwing acid on a 17-year-old boy, days after his minor daughter committed suicide following the break up between the two, sources said on Tuesday (July 1, 2025). Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Rahul Gupta said the accused, a resident of Sindhudurg district in neighbouring Maharashtra, attacked the boy on Monday when the latter was waiting for a bus to go to his school (in Mapusa town). The boy was hospitalised with 30% burn injuries. His condition is stated to be stable. Mr. Gupta said the daughter of the accused and the teenage boy, who studied at a school in Mapusa, were in a relationship. The accused told the police that he stole a five-litre acid can on Friday from the company in Goa where he was employed and hid it in his scooter, the police officer said. The accused has been booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and section 8 (2) of the Goa Children's Act.

Jul 02, 2025 07:00 AM IST The Sadar police arrested a woman for forcing the 15-year-old daughter of one of her friends into prostitution. The woman along with her husband exploited the minor for three months before the victim found a chance to escape from the house of the couple when they went for a foreign trip. The police are trying to trace the accused who raped the victim. (HT photo for representation) In her complaint the victim stated that her mother had dropped her at the house of the couple asking them to find a suitable job for her. The victim stated that days later the accused forced her to establish physical relation with a man, whom she did not know. When she resisted the man raped her. Days later, the accused forced her to establish physical relations with another unidentified man. The man raped her when she refused. According to the victim the ordeal continued for three months. A number of men raped her and the accused threatened her to keep mum. Further she added that in the last week of June the accused couple went on a foreign trip. The victim, with the help of her sister, contacted the police and filed a complaint. The Sadar Police lodged an FIR against the couple and arrested the woman - identified as Naina of Rajan Enclave. Her husband Sushil is yet to be arrested. Sub-inspector Tammana Devi, who is investigating the case, stated that the couple sexually exploited the girl. Though the husband of the woman has not exploited the girl, he supported his wife in exploiting the victim. The SI added that an FIR under Sections 65 (1) (rape), 61 (1) (criminal conspiracy) of BNS, sections 6 and 17 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been lodged against the couple. The police are also trying to trace the accused who raped the victim.

Noida: Three youths were arrested and their vehicles impounded, a day after Noida Traffic Police issued Rs 1.2 lakh in challans against two cars for performing stunts in Greater Noida. This came after a video of the incident was shared multiple times on social media sites. A case was registered at the Knowledge Park police station for rash driving and endangering lives. The accused, Uday Pratap Singh , a lawyer and resident of Pratap Vihar in Ghaziabad; Shivam Patel from Alpha 1, Greater Noida; and Prince Bharadwaj of Jewar. Sarvesh Singh, SHO, Knowledge Park, said that the men were arrested after cops launched an investigation and searched for their registration numbers. "Initially, we registered a case against two vehicles. During the investigation, we found that three cars were used in this stunt. The trio, during questioning, confessed that the video was shot two to three months ago to upload on social media profiles," he said. Taking note of the video, Noida Traffic Police tracked the registration details of the vehicles and issued challans amounting to Rs 1.21 lakh — Rs 63,500 against one vehicle and Rs 57,500 against the other. The fines were levied under several provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act , including Section 184 (dangerous driving), Section 189 (speeding), Section 179 (disobedience and obstruction), and Section 194B (seatbelt violation). In addition, a criminal case under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125 (act endangering life) of the BNS was registered against the accused at the Knowledge Park police station.
