Orientation kicks off for Delhi schools to implement entrepreneurship education across classes VII-XII

Time of India6 days ago
NEW DELHI: A new chapter in education is unfolding in Delhi govt schools as students from classes VII to XII prepare to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship—not as an optional activity, but as a part of their regular curriculum.
This initiative is part of the newly launched NEEEV (New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem & Vision) scheme, introduced this year.
To get things rolling, all heads of schools across Delhi will participate in an orientation session this week. This training will equip them to effectively implement NEEEV in classrooms and help students combat the potential problems they may face.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, NEEEV aims to prepare students for real-world challenges by equipping them with the mindset and tools needed to innovate, ideate, and build sustainable ventures.
Under this scheme, students will be gradually introduced to various facets of entrepreneurship, including startup ecosystems, ideation, prototyping, funding strategies, and the fundamentals of launching and managing a business.
Weekly sessions will be conducted by school faculty members appointed by the principal, ensuring consistent and hands-on learning throughout the academic year.

Each school will also appoint a NEEEV School Program Coordinator responsible for monitoring implementation through a soon-to-be-launched online portal. In addition, schools must establish a School Innovation Council (SIC)—chaired by the principal—to oversee entrepreneurship activities and evaluate student projects.
To enrich student engagement, the Delhi govt is introducing two flagship components under NEEEV: NEEEV Dialogue, a biannual speaker series that brings together entrepreneurs, university incubators, and industry experts to inspire and mentor students; and Startup Stormers, a competitive platform for students from Class IX onwards, where selected teams with innovative ideas may receive financial support to transform their prototypes into viable startups.
In 2019–20, the Aam Aadmi Party govt introduced the entrepreneurship curriculum to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking among students. A key feature of this programme was Business Blasters, a practical initiative that offered seed funding to students, enabling them to turn their ideas into real-world business ventures.

Rlys approves final survey for Neemuch-Banswara-Dahod line

Indore: The ministry of railways approved the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the final survey of the 380-kilometre-long Neemuch-Banswara-Dahod-Nandurbar new rail line. "This is a significant move aimed at fostering the economic and social development of the tribal-dominated regions," Ratlam railway division PRO Khemraj Meena said. "This project is set to create a new, vital route connecting Delhi to Mumbai," Meena added. According to railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the tribal-dominated Banswara naturally connects with Dahod. Therefore, a decision was made to prepare the DPR for the Neemuch-Banswara-Dahod rail line alongside the Dungarpur-Banswara-Ratlam project, Meena said. He added that this line will provide a new route for trains travelling from Delhi to Mumbai, passing through the tribal-dominated Banswara region. This will be the shortest route connecting the Tapti section to the Mumbai-Delhi main route via Dahod. The new rail line is expected to benefit six cities across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. The city of Shahada, with a population exceeding 50,000, may also be included in the survey for this route. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ask A Pro: "I'm 70 with $1.4M in IRAs. The area is abundant in minerals, presenting a strong potential for freight transportation, which can be facilitated by the shorter Neemuch-Banswara-Dahod route. Dahod-Alirajpur-Nandurbar section is located in a hilly and tribal area. This will be a shorter route connecting the Tapti rail section to the high-density Mumbai-New Delhi main line at Dahod. This route is also expected to uplift communities deprived of mainstream development, connecting them to the rest of the country via rail. Furthermore, this new rail line will boost tourism in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, while also creating local employment opportunities, he said.
