Illicit liquor worth Rs 1.09 lakh seized from SUV in Dhar

Mhow: Rajgarh police in Dhar district seized illicit liquor worth Rs1.09 lakh from an SUV early on Friday morning.
Rajgarh police station in charge Dipak Singh Chauhan told TOI that one of the patrolling teams was passing through underbridge near Mohankheda pilgrimage when they noticed a suspicious SUV.
When the driver saw a police vehicle approaching his SUV, he jumped out and fled taking advantage of the darkness. Subsequently, the vehicle was checked, leading to recovery of cartons of Indian-made foreign liquor hidden inside its cabin.
The vehicle along with the liquor was seized and the unidentified driver was booked under section 34(2) of the Excise Act.
