Emmerdale star looks totally different a year on from shock soap exit
A former Emmerdale cast member surprised fans with their return to social media this week. The actor, who worked on the ITV soap opera for 17 years, now looks a little different, more than a year on from his unexpected departure.
Sebastian Dowling, now 18, is best known for playing Heath Hope on the show from 2007 until his exit, which saw the character die in a car accident in scenes that aired last year. He starred alongside his twin Gabrielle Dowling, 18, who plays Heath's twin Cathy Hope, for over a decade on the soap.
Now, Sebastian has showcased his latest appearance in a new post on social media this week, as reported by the Express. He shared photos on Instagram recently, returning to the platform after an almost year-long break.
The actor has ditched his lengthy blonde hair and been hitting the gym as part of his transformation since leaving Emmerdale. Alongside photos of his new look, Sebastian wrote in the caption of his post: "Have you missed me?"
One photo showcased his shorter hairstyle, with Sebastian sporting short and tousled dark locks in a selfie included in the post. A second photo in the post this week showed him posing shirtless in a mirror.
The post marks the first time that the former soap star has posted on the platform since October last year. Fans shared their reaction to his latest appearance in the comments section, with some seemingly surprised.
One person wrote: "Wow guy. All grown up and looking great. Still miss you on the show. Let us know what you up to now." Another said: "Holy c***, mans become Hulk! Looking great bro."
A third wrote: "Now this is what a 'glow up' looks like." Meanwhile, a fourth person commented: "Wow you look awesome there Seb. Nice one there mate!"
Sebastian left Emmerdale in a New Year's storyline that saw his character die on January 1 last year. He was killed off in a car accident that involved other teenagers from the village, including Heath's twin sister Cathy.
The car crash was initially thought to have been caused by Cathy. However, it was later revealed that Cathy wasn't the actual driver, with pal Angelica King (played by Rebecca Bakes) having been behind the wheel instead.
Angelica ended up facing trial, having been charged with death by dangerous driving. She was handed an eight-month custodial sentence in a secure children's home.
She left the soap as part of the storyline. However, there's a chance that Angelica could make a return to the village once her sentence has been served.

Big Brother winner unrecognisable 7 years after 'accidental' win
The then-19-year-old won what was thought to be the last ever series of Big Brother. Big Brother's Cameron Cole went down in history in 2018, when he won what was thought to be the last ever series at the age of 19. The beloved reality programme has since returned on ITV, with a third season yet to air later this year. During his time in the iconic house, Cameron was showered in support from fans and his fellow housemates after coming out as gay, in one of TV's most emotional moments. Reflecting on that moment in a recent interview with Metro, Cameron revealed that he'd only told his best friend beforehand and had written letters to his family, which he still has. He feared the news would 'go down badly' with the other contestants and the public - only to have a completely different reaction. He told the publication: 'Once you come out on TV, you can't really do it again. I just don't even think about it now because there's no point hiding it. It is out there everywhere, and for that, I'm very grateful. [If I hadn't done it] I probably wouldn't have been living my true life which is never obviously a good thing.' Cameron went on to win the £100,000 from what he calls an 'accidental' win, but told host Emma Willis at the time that he didn't know what he'd plan to spend it on because he 'hadn't really thought that far ahead'. Unlike the likes of Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson, who have also appeared on Big Brother, Cameron opted for a quieter life away from fame following his stint on the show. He studied psychology in London and was in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend who he met in the city, though he still keeps his relationship and personal life private. In a post back in 2023, Cameron reflected on his fame from Big Brother, celebrating five years since he won the show. Alongside snaps from the show, he wrote on Instagram: 'I cannot believe it's been 5 years since the best 53 days of my life. I'm still so grateful to have done something as life changing as Big Brother. I lived my dream, and it never disappointed. 'I'm so glad big brother is back and that I won't be the last winner forever. I've loved this series so much and can relive it in a way I hadn't been able to. 'I can't explain how much I miss big brother and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't miss the house, housemates and absolutely everything it entitled, the BB voices, the task, diary room, chats, laughs the whole f*****g thing.' He went on: 'It was the safest and happiest I've ever been and will ever be. My safe haven the first place I felt I belonged and was normal. I love what was the best set of housemates and people. 'The memories made I'll never forget or get bored of remembering. I'll always miss it and crave the feeling and experience again, but when it makes me sad, I try to remember just how lucky I was to do it. 'Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me at any point. It's always been so appreciated. I'll never forget you and I'll always miss you, big brother, more than anyone will ever know. 'You made a sad boy with no hope a happy boy and gave me the most priceless prizes: hope and reason to live and laugh again. You changed my life completely and unfortunately you were so good, my heart now hurts everyday with how much I miss you! 'That said I'm so f**king glad I got to spend 53 days of my life with you, if only it was more. So happy more people can now live it too with BB being back. Love you always BB and I'll forever miss you.'

Kerry Katona compares herself to Britney Spears after sharing fears for singer
Celebs Go Dating star Kerry Katona was told she looked like Britney Spears during an Instagram live and compared herself to the legendary pop singer Kerry Katona compared herself to Britney Spears during an Instagram Live on Saturday afternoon. The Celebs Go Dating star, 44, has just jetted off abroad with her children for her family holiday, and gave fans a glimpse into her luxury getaway, Opting for a pink two-piece, Kerry lay down on a sofa and while one fan claimed she resembled former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, another told her she looked like pop star Britney. In response, Kerry said: "I look like Britney Spears? Am I acting like her as well? I used to get called the British version of Britney Spears." As fans of the pop megastar will know, Britney regained control of her multimillion dollar fortune and various aspects of her life when a conservatorship that had been governed by her immediate family was terminated in November 2021. Since then, she has admitted that she has no plans to return to the music industry but has become known for sharing her sultry snaps to her millions of Instagram followers. It comes after pictures emerged of inside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash's luxurious £30k family holiday at 'second home'. READ MORE: Kerry Katona 'moves in with new boyfriend' just months after Celebs Go Dating romance Kerry, who shot to fame around the same time as Britney, 43, when she joined the girl group Atomic Kitten in the late 1990s, has previously been vocal about the Baby One More Time songstress. She noted in her new! magazine column: "I think it's awful what's going on with Britney Spears. I wish we wouldn't make people like her fall further after what they've been through. Saying that, she is quite erratic and it's hard to tell what is actually going on. I think she is really struggling." Just months later, Britney went viral when she danced around with knives on Instagram, and Kerry shared her concern for the pop legend then, as she said: "The Instagram videos she's been posting recently are worrying, especially as she did one dancing with knives last month. I'm not one to judge, but it is concerning. I see all these conspiracy theories on TikTok and they make me wonder if it's the real Britney in these videos." Prior to that, Kerry, who has famously made more than £1 million through her profile on OnlyFans, previously suggested to Britney that she should join her in selling her racy snaps on the adults-only platform rather than giving them away for free on social media. Meanwhile, Kerry, who is mother to Molly, 23, and Lilly-Sue, 22, with former Westlife star Brian McFadden, Max, 18, and 17-year-old Heidi with Mark Croft as well as daughter DJ, eight, with the late George Kay, also told her fans of the calamity that ensued once she arrived in the foreign location and was temporarily locked out. She said: "So, gets in the car, gets to the apartment. got no key. I have got no bloody key! What time did we get here, Heidi, about 1? We've just got here and we can have a bloody barbecue!" What's more, the TV favourite also seemed to have forgotten to sort out a hire car for herself, so was left without the inability to stock up on food so had to rely on takeaway delivery services. She added: "I've got no car because I'm a n**head. I am a n**, that's what I am. "So I've done JustEats because we're all exhausted. There's [a little bit] of sun left on the balcony, and our Heidi has took it. So now, I've got to stand in t'bloody shade. But it is really, really nice here. I'm not showing anyone the views or anything though." For Kerry, the family getaway comes just months after she split from former fiance Ryan Mahoney. In an effort to move on from Ryan, Kerry has stepped back out into the dating pool as has grown close to personal trainer Paolo Margaglione. She signed up to Celebs Go Dating in an effort to find her perfect match. However, it seemed the pair may have faced some bumps in the road already after snaps of the pair in Ibiza seemed to show them in a tense exchange. A source claimed that, while they're totally 'smitten' with each other, Kerry is nervous about putting yet another relationship in the public eye. 'Kerry is being very cautious with this romance,' they told the Mirror. 'She has been very wary about going public with Paolo and it impacting their relationship. "She's been down the route of high-profile, public relationships before and she doesn't want anything to ruin things this time.' Kerry and father-of-two Paolo, 33, are thought to have met during the new series of Celebs Go Dating. However, Kerry has remained resolutely tight-lipped on her new relationship. The source added: 'Kerry's worries have caused some tense moments as she doesn't want any exterior drama getting in the way. "But Paolo isn't overthinking it – he's just really happy to be with her. He doesn't see the problem and is telling her not to worry, they're great together and should just enjoy what they've got.'

Love Island's Harry 'proves doubters wrong' on first days outside villa
Harry Cooksley, who finished in second place on the dating programme, has shared a glimpse into his life after the villa - and silenced the sceptics Love Island's Harry Cooksley has shut down his critics on his first day back from Majorca. The footballer, who stepped into the ITV villa on day one and reached the finale, clinched second place alongside partner Shakira Khan, 22. Now, the 30 year old reality television personality has turned to TikTok to offer followers an insight into his private world. In a vlog-style clip shared on 8 August, Harry chronicled his return journey from Spain, which kicked off at the break of dawn. Upon arriving home, the sportsman headed straight to a supermarket he lovingly referenced throughout his villa stint. It comes after Paul Weller reveals the unusual reason he refuses to watch Oasis concerts. "This whole experience has been wild and I've been wondering what life's gonna be like after. It is gonna be so weird," he reflects in the footage, reports the Daily Star. He continued: "I proved some of the doubters wrong, I headed straight to Aldi to pick up the essentials." Harry incorporated a brief moment from Love Island where he and Shakira contemplated their post-celebrity existence, with Shakira voicing concerns about managing everyday activities like popping to Aldi. This touching conversation took place as the pair were rekindling their connection, after Harry's original coupling with fellow day-one Islander Helena Ford. Despite his new-found fame, the Farnham Town player encountered no difficulties whilst browsing the aisles at Aldi. In another segment of the now-viral clip, Harry discloses that he also dropped by to see his mum during his initial days back on home soil. "It's been a bit odd being away from her these past few months. We're thick as thieves, I see her every week, so it was a treat to catch up and dish the dirt on Island life," he added. The ITV heartthrob experienced quite the emotional journey on the reality dating show. He initially paired up with Shakira shortly after the series began, but their budding romance faced turbulence when his attention shifted to Helena. Finding himself in a vexing love triangle, the 22 year old ultimately chose to sever ties with Harry, which resulted in him spending most of the season with Helena. Yet, in an unexpected twist, Shakira revealed she still had feelings for Harry. In a surprising turn of events, Harry and Shakira rekindled their flame just days before the final, securing the runner-up position with 26% of the public vote. Earlier this week, Harry said he thinks he 'handled things the wrong way' when it comes to his infamous triangle on Love Island. in their first joint interview as a couple, Harry has spoken out on his behaviour in the villa which saw him play Shakira and Helena against each other time and time again. He also sat back as Helena and Shakira took the triangle drama out on each other. Just days after the final, he has admitted that he hasn't actually spoken to Helena but gave a positive update on the status of their relationship now that the show is over. He told Christine Lampard on Friday's edition of Lorraine: "I think I definitely handled things in the wrong way with Helena and Shakira. But at the end of the day, Helena and I are now moving forward as friends. I haven't actually spoken to her since I've been out but we had a couple of conversations before she left the villa and I'm delighted it's amicable." Christine then quizzed Shakira on how she felt during the whole situation, and she said: "Honestly it was heartbreaking and having to watch it pan out every day was so tough. I think in the outside world you can have a bit of distance, you can speak to each other. It was something I'd never experienced before." Elsewhere in the series, Harry had to deal with his ex-girlfriend Emma Munro arriving as a Bombshell during the Casa Amor portion of the competition and joked that he and the other boys had been hitting the gym every day in an attempt to impress the girls before all the drama unfolded.
