Police probing Shila Amzah's assault claim
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad said police have recorded statements from two people.
He said Shila, whose real name is Nurshahila Amir Amzah, lodged a report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters here at 5.31pm on Thursday.
'So far, the individual alleged to have assaulted Shila has not been summoned, but efforts are underway to obtain a statement from the person involved.
'The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code,' he told Bernama yesterday.
On Thursday, the media reported that Shila claimed she was assaulted by a popular singer during a rehearsal session for a concert.

CRIME & COURTS GEORGE TOWN, July 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has launched a major crackdown on scrap metal smuggling syndicates operating in five states, which are believed to have paid bribes to enforcement officers, resulting in an estimated tax revenue loss of over RM950 million to the government. The raids were carried out by the MACC's Special Operations Division through the Multi Agency Task Force (MATF), in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), at 19 locations across Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, and Kedah. The special operation, dubbed 'Op Metal,' also involved personnel from MACC's Anti-Corruption Tactical Squad (ACTS), who raided six sites in Penang yesterday, including residences, offices, and scrap metal storage and processing centres believed to be involved in the smuggling operation. The first raid, which was also joined by Bernama, was conducted at a three-storey luxury bungalow in Batu Maung around 6 am Monday (July 14), believed to belong to a businessman who owns a scrap metal company. A domestic helper opened the door after ACTS officers knocked, and a search was conducted with officials, though the company owner was reportedly not home at the time. Only the man's wife, child, and an elderly woman believed to be his mother were in the residence, while the foreign national was said to be abroad on business for the past two days. The operations team searched for evidence and documents related to the smuggling activities, while the ACTS team maintained surveillance inside and outside the home to ensure a smooth operation. Later, members of the media were brought along for a raid on a scrap metal storage and processing site at Jalan Bukit Minyak in Bukit Mertajam around 9 am, just as the premises opened for business. The ACTS team conducted a thorough inspection of the zinc-fenced facility, which contained scrap metals of various forms, sizes, and types believed to be processed before being exported overseas.

[UPDATED] Foreigner nabbed for slashing ex-girlfriend in private college
SUBANG JAYA: Police have arrested a foreigner for slashing his former girlfriend at a private college here today. District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the 20-year-old victim, also a foreigner, was in critical but stable condition with a slash wound to her neck. He said the ex-boyfriend was detained shortly after the incident. "At 6.30pm, Subang Jaya police received a report that a foreign man had injured his former girlfriend, also a foreigner, with a knife at a private university here. "Investigations revealed that the victim, aged 20, had slash wounds to the left side of her neck. The victimwas sent to University Malaya Medical Centre and placed in the Red Zone. "The victim is said to be in stable condition," he said. Wan Azlan said the suspect in the case, a 21-year-old who is the victim's former boyfriend, was detained not long after the incident. "The motive behind the attack is still under investigation," he said. He added that the case has been classified under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means, which carries a sentence of imprisonment of up to 10 years, fine or caning, or any two of the three punishments. Bursa Malaysia Reprimands Zetrix AI, Fines Seven Directors RM150,000 Each
BUSINESS KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has publicly reprimanded Zetrix AI Bhd, formerly known as MYEG Services Bhd, and fined seven directors for breaching the Bursa Malaysia Securities Main Market listing requirements (LR). The stock exchange operator imposed a fine of RM150,000 on each director, including the company's group managing director, Wong Thean Soon; executive chairman Datuk Dr Norraesah Mohamad; and non-independent non-executive director, Datuk Mohd Jimmy Wong Abdullah. Also reprimanded and fined were independent non-executive directors Wong Kok Chau, Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff, Datuk Mohd Jeffrey Joakim and Mohaini Mohd Yusof. According to Bursa Malaysia Securities, the findings of breach and the imposition of penalties on the company and the directors were made pursuant to paragraph 16.19 of the Main Market LR upon completion of due process and after taking into consideration all facts and circumstances of the matter. These included the materiality of the breaches, the impact of the breaches on the company and shareholders/investors, and the roles, responsibilities, knowledge, involvement and conduct/action/inaction of the directors. "Bursa Malaysia Securities has also reminded the company and its board of directors of their responsibility to maintain the appropriate standards of corporate responsibility and accountability to its shareholders and the investing public," it said in a statement. On July 7, 2023, Zetrix AI announced that the company received a notification letter dated July 4, 2023 from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) to confirm that the Ministry of Finance (MOF) had approved for the company to be appointed as the collection agent for the government revenue and to extend its role as the provider of online services for the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
