The westbound lanes of Highway 407 are closed in the Burlington and Oakville area as a result of several grass fires producing heavy smoke.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say the westbound lanes of the 407 are closed between Bronte Road and Appleby Line on Monday evening.
The eastbound lanes have since reopened following a full closure.
'The smoke is very thick affecting visibility,' OPP said in a social media post. 'Motorists should avoid the area and take an alternate route.'
