: Police arrested a 27-year-old man for attempting to extort money from former cabinet minister

filed an FIR under sections 204, 308(2), and 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanahita (BNS).
Police identified the accused as
Rahul Bhusare
from Karanjali in Peth taluka. He was arrested on Friday night after he collected a cash bag from Narendra Sonawane, who works for Chhagan Bhujbal.
According to DCP (crime) Prashant Bachhav, Bhusare first contacted MLA Chhagan Bhujbal's mobile phone on April 23. The calls were redirected to PA Santosh Gaikwad. Bhusare claimed to represent the income-tax department and said there were plans to raid Bhujbal's farmhouse in Trimbakeshwar.
He added said he could reach a settlement for Rs 1.6 crore and stop the raid.
Following the initial contact, Bhusare made another demand on May 2. After several conversations with Santosh Gaikwad over four days, he agreed to Rs 1 crore. Bhujbal, meanwhile, informed police commissioner Sandeep Karnik, who assigned the crime branch unit 1 to investigate.
Police planned to arrest Bhusare during the money exchange. They arranged for Narendra Sonawane to deliver a bag containing some genuine cash, counterfeit notes, and papers while officers waited nearby.

On Friday, Bhusare instructed Santosh Gaikwad to bring the money to Dharampur in Gujarat. Crime branch unit 1, led by senior inspector Madhukar Kad, followed Sonawane to the location. Bhusare was told to meet Sonawane for the handover.
Kad revealed that Bhusare, a former restaurant owner whose business failed, turned to extortion. He holds a BSc degree, is not married, and has no previous criminal record.

Dhandhal said he reached out to customer support, which initiated a return and offered him compensation of Rs 13,000 and Rs 18,000 when he rejected the offer. 'After a discussion with customer care they started a return and then after 2 days they called me and offered me a compensation of 13K which I rejected, then 18K I rejected again and finally they offered me 10% which I rejected again,' he shared. The YouTuber claimed that Flipkart rejected the return after the negotiation. 'And after all this negotiation they rejected the return. So I called them again and I asked for 10% compensation as it was a lot of hassle by talking to them. And moreover, I was able to clean the marks but the laptop was not new in the first place,' Dhandhal said. He also claimed that the seller has been scamming customers for years. ED attaches assets worth Rs 100 crore held by dummy owners in Muda case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached 92 immovable properties with an estimated market value of Rs 100 crore in connection with the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. The attachment was carried out on June 9 under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), to the ED, the properties in question include Muda sites that are registered in the names of housing cooperative societies and individuals who are alleged to be front persons or cummies for influential individuals, including officials of the enforcement action stems from an investigation initiated on the basis of a First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Lokayukta Police in Mysuru. The FIR was filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860, and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Among those named in the FIR is Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with others. The ED's investigation has uncovered what it describes as a large-scale scam involving the allotment of Muda sites. The agency claims that statutory provisions and government orders or guidelines were flouted to carry out fraudulent allotments. It further stated that the role of former Muda commissioners, including GT Dinesh Kumar, has emerged as central to the illegal allocation of compensation sites to individuals and entities who were ineligible.
