If there is one thing to remember about South Korean actor Park Bo-gum's Singapore fan-meet yesterday (Aug 14) — besides his good looks, many charms and singing prowess — it's the word shower.
AsiaOne attended the event at the Star Theatre, where the 32-year-old began the evening with a cover of the upbeat song Hello by Red Velvet's Joy.

Addressing his fans as his "life-long friends", Bo-gum thanked everyone for coming to see him, even saying "Hot sia !" to everyone's amusement.
He also said, through interpreter April Kim: "This year marks 14 years since my debut [in showbiz], thank you for all your support and love. [After all these years], you guys are still here, being with me. Thank you for being my friend, being with me, which is why I prepared the title of this show to be 'Be With You'."
In the first part of his show named 8/14 platform, Bo-gum brought his fans on a 'train ride' where they could know more about him, his filming experiences and interaction with fans.
He revealed his daily routine in the segment named B-cut Station, where he said he usually wakes up early in the morning and go for a run along Han River, before having breakfast and going for work.
He also shared that he began his day yesterday morning with a swim before going for a run near Marina Bay Sands, where he saw a lot of people jogging.
"I was so thankful, because when my life-long friends recognised me, they respected my boundaries, and I am so touched," Bo-gum said, adding that they only waved and gave him a thumbs-up.
How to smell like Bo-gum?
Kim also asked him about one thing he must do every day and as Bo-gum pondered, a few fans shouted: "Shower!"
Kim asked the fans how they knew that, as Bo-gum jokingly pulled his jacket closer around himself.
"Whenever I end work after a day, I must take a shower. I don't lie down without showering at all," he added.
And this heralded a long conversation about his routine in the bathroom, from where he washes first to his favourite shampoo fragrance ("floral rose or minty").

"Now you know what to add to your Lazada and Shopee carts tonight... Ah rose, mint and now you can smell like Park Bo-gum," Kim quipped.
He also shared his filming experiences playing good-natured husband Yang Gwan-sik in the Netflix drama When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025) and athlete-turn-police officer Yun Dong-ju in the drama Good Boy (2025).
As his topless shower scene in Good Boy came on screen, fans started cheering and Bo-gum covered his eyes shyly.

He was also asked to narrate the scene in English, describing the "magnificent and exquisite lines of his back muscles" and how the lights caught on his body, and Bo-gum only realised the situation as he read the lines given to him.
"Oh I understood, you guys asked me about my shower routine, because of this scene?" he asked.
As everyone continued to tease him about it, he said shyly: "Okay, that's it."

Bo-gum also granted the wishes of four lucky fans — including a seven-year-old girl, who were invited to joined him onstage, as he sang and took selfies with them.
At one point, he even sang our national folk song Singapura, Sunny Island while playing the tune on the piano.

He also prepared gifts for 12 fans, including autographed personal music albums and drama soundtracks, a five-packet set of his favourite jjajang instant noodles, a box of Jung Kwan Jang red ginseng tonic and one bottle of Celine shower cologne.
Bo-gum is a brand ambassador for the latter two.
As he introduced the cologne, Kim reminded him that it's not just that, it's a "shower" cologne.
Fans broke into laughter again, and Bo-gum quipped: "So when you guys shower, you will think of me."
In the second part of the show, Bo-gum sang his songs, including On My Way, All My Love and Nae Saram (My Person) from his drama Love in the Moonlight (2016) soundtrack.

'Do not think about me when you take a shower'
Three hours with Bo-gum flew past too fast and the fan-meet soon came to the end.
After taking a few photos on stage with everyone, he thanked them again for coming to see him.
"I hope you guys had a really good time and always take care when you go back home today. I hope today will be a good memory in your life and journey. So whenever you are tired, bored, stressed or sad — I don't want you guys to be sad..."
He was interrupted by some fans who shouted: "Showering!"
"Showering? Oh please no, do not think about me when you take a shower. When you are showering, you should just focus on being clean," he laughed.
While Bo-gum said he was told to wrap up his show at 10pm, he remained onstage for another 15 minutes as the crowd was reluctant to see him go.
He went around the edge of the stage to be closer to his fans and waved goodbye to everyone. He did a kneeling bow, always waving till the curtains dropped.

Blackpink's Jisoo shot new music video in Singapore's Rainforest Wild Asia

South Korean singer and actress Jisoo from K-pop girl group Blackpink shot the music video for her new song Your Love in Singapore's Rainforest Wild Asia, in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Mandai Wildlife Reserve. The two-minute 54-second clip, released on Aug 12, sees her singing amid a lush tropical rainforest, as well as the man-made cave system in Singapore's fifth wildlife park. She is also filmed in Cavern Restaurant, a cavernous 150-seat air-conditioned restaurant and one of the eateries within the attraction. Also making an appearance are langurs, one of the animal species that inhabit Rainforest Wild Asia. Your Love is a single from Jisoo's debut solo mini-album Amortage, which was released on Feb 14. In March, the 30-year-old was in Singapore for an appearance at Amortage at Far East Malls, a pop-up concept store celebrating the album release. Jisoo will be back in town with her fellow Blackpink bandmates to perform at the National Stadium on Nov 29 and 30 as part of their highly anticipated Deadline world tour. The music video is also a collaboration with local dance talent agency Jam Republic, which oversaw the overall operations and logistics during filming, and Jisoo's agency Blisoo. Ms Serene Tan, STB's director, North Asia, says in a statement: "Together with Mandai Wildlife Group, one of our key partners in this collaboration, we aim to showcase Singapore's unique landscapes and attractions, including its lush green spaces and immersive wildlife experiences. "Jisoo's emotional performance brought Singapore's natural beauty to life, and we hope that leveraging her global influence, we can introduce K-pop fans and visitors around the world to the unforgettable experiences that only Singapore can offer, and inspire them to experience them for themselves." South Korean singer Jisoo from Blackpink shot the music video for her song Your Love in Rainforest Wild Asia, Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore, in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board and Mandai Wildlife Reserve. PHOTO: SCREENGRAB FROM JISOO/YOUTUBE Ms Jean Choi, chief sales and marketing officer at Mandai Wildlife Group, adds in a statement: "This project is a great opportunity to creatively showcase Mandai Wildlife Park and show people a different side of Singapore that they might not have expected. Mandai Wildlife Park is a visually striking and memorable experience, and we expect it to resonate strongly with South Korean travellers who value emotional storytelling and Instagrammable photos." Rainforest Wild Asia will be hosting the Your Love Meets The Wild campaign, an immersive rainforest adventure that includes special trails that recreate scenes from the music video and visits to stone chambers inspired by real caves. The campaign will run from Aug 13 to Oct 5. Jisoo is the latest pop star to film a music video in Singapore in partnership with STB this year. In May, K-pop boy band BTS member Jin released the shot-in-Singapore music video for his single Don't Say You Love Me that featured scenes filmed in local spots such as National Gallery Singapore, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer and Goldhill Plaza. British band Coldplay's Man In The Moon MV, released in February, features the quartet performing on a custom-made floating stage in Marina Bay. Besides prominent places such as Jewel Changi Airport and S.E.A. Aquarium, it also features heartland spots, such as an HDB estate in MacPherson.

K-star Park Bo-gum proves he is a consummate entertainer at all-English Singapore fan meeting

Sign up now: Get ST's newsletters delivered to your inbox South Korean actor-singer entertained his fans with songs at his Be With You fan meeting at The Star Theatre. Park Bo Gum 2025 Be With You Fan Meeting Tour The Star Theatre Aug 14, 7pm If there was a recurring theme for Park Bo-gum's Be With You Singapore fan meeting, it would be gratitude. Throughout the 3½-long event at The Star Theatre on Aug 14, words such as 'thank you', 'grateful' and 'blessed' flowed freely from the 32-year-old's mouth. The South Korean star was also visibly touched by his fans' support as he celebrated his 14th year in show business. Park – who also sings, plays music and hosts – debuted as an actor in 2011 with a bit part in the crime thriller film Blind, and went on to become a successful performer. He admitted to the audience that 2025 is his year, with his recent TV series – romance drama When Life Gives You Tangerines and actioner Good Boy – receiving rave reviews and high viewership ratings. He said that it is his wish to take his fans on a personal journey at the fan meeting, for being with him all these years. To the supporters – some of whom flew in from China, Thailand and the United States – the handsome K-idol, famed for his 'good boy' reputation, is their Prince Charming personified. The Be With Me world tour kicked off in Yokohama, Japan, in July, with Singapore being the third stop after Seoul. Other stops include Asian cities like Kaohsiung, Manila, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur before the tour heads to Latin American countries such as Mexico, Brazil and Chile. Here are three highlights of the show that proved Park is a consummate all-rounder entertainer. Top stories Swipe. Select. Stay informed. Singapore Ong Beng Seng fined $30k for abetting former minister Iswaran in obstructing course of justice Asia Sun Haiyan, ex-China ambassador to S'pore, detained for questioning: Sources Singapore Jail for drink-driving cop in hit-and-run accident, victim suffered multiple fractures Life How do household bomb shelters in Singapore really work? Asia Johor authorities seize four Singapore-registered vehicles over illegal e-hailing Singapore Owners call for stronger management rules in ageing condos, but seek to avoid being overburdened 1. No language barrier Fan meetings with South Korean stars in town are usually conducted in their native language, even if the celebrity is adept at communicating in English. Park scored a home run by holding his fan meeting primarily in English. Although he had a translator backstage and slipped back to his mother tongue at some moments, he adequately held court in English. Park often apologised for his 'limited vocabulary' whenever he struggled and stammered, as he tried to articulate his thoughts. There were also several cute boo-boos, such as saying 'poo poo' instead of 'choo choo' when imitating the sound of a train. He would then cover his face with his hands in embarrassment, laugh at his mistakes and ask his fans to 'wipe that out' from their memory. But to the crowd, the charismatic multi-hyphenate could do no wrong, often screaming 'it's okay, take your time' in Korean, much to Park's surprise and delight. 2. Serenading fans in a mini concert Before becoming an actor, Park wanted to be a singer-songwriter. He has also released several singles and a studio album, Blue Bird (2020). Recently, the musical theatre-trained artiste has been indulging in his passion for music, such as hosting the South Korean music talk show The Seasons: Park Bo-gum's Cantabile (2025). He kicked off the singing segment of the fan meeting with the energetic On My Way (2025), a song written for him and commissioned by Korea Tourism Organization to promote South Korea as a travel destination. Park is the honorary ambassador for his country. He also knew how to rouse the audience, inviting them to dance with him during his covers of South Korean singer Cho Yong-pil's upbeat Let's Take A Trip (1985) and South Korean folk duo MeloMance's jazzy Let's Take A Break (2016). Park serenaded fans with his buttery tenor vocals on ballads, often playing the accompaniment on the piano. Cue fan favourites such as My Person, the romantic song he performed for the soundtrack of Love In The Moonlight, the hit 2016 K-drama that turned Park into a global star. There was also his 2018 single Let's Go See The Stars and All My Love, a number he recorded for his fans before enlisting for his mandatory military service in 2020. Sitting at the piano and chatting with the crowd, Park, in a spur of the moment, asked everyone to sing along with him to home-grown Mandopop singer JJ Lin's Practice Love (2013). Park had performed the Chinese-language ballad at his last Singapore fan meeting, held at The Star Theatre in 2019. Never once did he show any signs of slowing down, turning the event into a mini-concert. 3. Real-life Prince Charming Park's appeal comes from his humility, innate charm and sincerity, which were on full display during the talk show segment. He shared how he never fails to keep to his daily routine of jogging, even when he is in Singapore. The avid runner thanked his waiting fans for not approaching him and respecting his privacy when he was jogging around Marina Bay Sands the morning of the fan meeting. Four fans also had the opportunity to take photos with Park on stage during the 'fan wish' segment. Seven-year-old Tarana, who travelled from New York, asked 'Bo-gum samchon' (uncle in Korean) if he had watched the hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters (2025), to which he replied 'of course'. The girl then requested that Park sing Falling Slowly with her mother, which he obliged – complete with his piano accompaniment. The Oscar-winning track, composed by Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard for the Irish romantic musical film Once (2007), went viral when Park performed it with Dublin all-male choir The Ramparts in the South Korean reality series My Name Is Gabriel (2024). Park ended the evening with a kneeling deep bow and a nod to his new role as his country's tourism ambassador. He said: 'I don't know when I will return to Singapore again, but all of you are welcome to meet me in South Korea.'
