Animation of Joe Wicks launched to help children keep fit
The Body Coach's new animated persona talks children through exercises including jogging, squats and burpees in five-minute clips, which will be released via his YouTube channel. Wicks said the Government-backed Activate project aims to 'make movement fun'. Joe Wicks said the new programme is 'designed to make movement fun' (PA) In each clip Wicks' character performs various exercises accompanied by new animated characters known as the Activators. The first episode has been released on The Body Coach YouTube channel, with more episodes to be released each week over the school summer holidays. The animated series was launched at Ripple Primary School in Barking, east London, on Monday. Wicks and Health Secretary Wes Streeting met teachers and parents to discuss keeping children active. 'Activate is designed to make movement fun,' said Wicks. He told the PA news agency: 'We live in a world where it's very easy to be sedentary, it's very easy to rely on ultra-processed foods. 'So I think I've created something I personally think is different – it's about using technology and disrupting that passive screen time, and actually saying 'Come on kids, get up, let's do it'. 'I just want more people to see it and give it a go, because I know when they do, I think they're going to fall in love with it – the characters, the workouts and the music. 'It's going to be a really genuine useful thing for parents, I think, to get their kids moving. 'Because sometimes, especially in the summer holidays, kids are reluctant to move, this is something I think can really help with that.' Wicks went on: 'Activity doesn't have to be this perfect hour a day where you have an instructor or you're in a gym, actually, five minutes can be enough.' Health Secretary Wes Streeting told PA: 'Activate is a really great project, and the Government's proud to support it, because we want to get children, young people, more fit and active. 'One in five children are leaving primary school with obesity, so this is a really big challenge for us. 'And the truth is, if this was just a sort of boring government video it wouldn't have nearly as much success and impact as I think Activate is going to have, where you've got the energy and dynamism of Joe Wicks combined with some of the best creative minds and talents in our country and around the world. 'I think it's going to make it fun, I think it's going to make it accessible and that is the key to getting children and young people fit and active – meeting them where they are, making it accessible, making it free and making it fun.' Almost one in 10 children in reception year at school were obese, according to figures from the National Childhood Measurement Programme in England. This rises to 22.1% of pupils in Year 6, according to the 2023/24 data.

Love Island's Yasmin's secret twin sister Zara leaves ITV viewers in stitches as she recreates some of her sibling's most iconic one-liners
Love Island's Yasmin Pettet's twin sister Zara has sent ITV viewers into a frenzy as she recreated some of her sibling's most memorable one liners. The reality star, 24, has stirred trouble in the villa as one of the most iconic bombshells with her savage catchphrases. And now that she has become a fan favourite, her sister has taken to her TikTok to share a montage of her mimicking some of her best moments. In a clip posted to social media, she recreated the moment when the Islander told Harry to 'shut the f*** up and kiss her' in the Hideaway. She then continued by recreating the moment when Yasmin slammed Ben during a heated row as she delivered this line: 'Waste my money, waste whatever, don't f***ing waste my time.' And the clip was welcomed by fans of Yasmin as they flocked to the comments sharing their surprise between their similarities. One penned: ' I thought Yasmin got dumped and i missed a whole episode you look just like her. 'The mannerisms, the laugh, the voice? You guys are definitely related'; 'NO COS YOU ARE HER'; 'She looks like Yasmin more than Yasmin looks like Yasmin…' 'Slayyy and this woman is an Oxford grad!!!'; 'YOUR HER TWIN'; 'Vote for Yasmin and Jamie guys'; 'I wasn't a fan at first but now I'm starting to think she's iconic'. This comes after Love Island viewers were left stunned on Saturday night, after Yasmin appeared to directly address a popular fan conspiracy theory about her. The commercial banking executive has been plagued by long-running speculation that she is AI-generated since the start of the ITV2 series. The theory stemmed from fans clocking a string of 'glitchy' moments from her in the iconic villa, including her very upright posture while chatting with her co-stars and standing by the firepit, coupled with her slow blinking and formal speech patterns. It first gained traction after one fan took to TikTok to share a slew of clips of the Yas acting 'robotic', with the caption: 'Guys I'm scared... I think she's AI.' Since then the joke has snowballed, becoming a popular meme for this year's series, with fans frequently taking to affectionately refer to the sexy singleton as 'YasGPT' - in a play on AI chatbot, ChatGPT. She's definitely AI.' 'Convinced Yasmin is an ai bot sent from love island usa to cause havoc in the uk villa'; ''the batteries aren't 100%' did yasmin just confirm she is AI'. 'Are we sure Yasmin is not AI, she doesn't seem real'; ''the batteries are not 100%' yasmin is never beating the robot allegations i fear'; 'Yasmin is the certified first Love island AI icon'; 'I saw someone say Yasmin is AI and bro she is literally not real'; 'Are we sure Yasmin isn't AI robot?' 'Yasmin is almost a robot I'm kinda obsessed with it'; 'Yasmin wearing 80 denier tights during the height of summer in Mallorca proves she's AI because NO girl could survive that level of heat/friction'. 'Yasmin is never ever beating them AI bot allegations'; 'I actually love that we're seeing more of Yasmin's personality coming through. In true AI fashion she has learnt and developed. Since then the joke has snowballed, becoming a popular meme for this year's series, with fans frequently taking to affectionately refer to the sexy singleton as 'YasGPT' - in a play on AI chatbot, ChatGPT However, during Unseen Bits this weekend, it seemed as though Yas was aware of the public theory that she was an AI bot, as she insisted she was human. Sitting in the Beach Hut for a confessional, she was asked to show off her dance moves and immediately opted for the robot dance. She said: 'Oh my god, should I do the robot?' before letting slip: 'Everyone says I'm AI-generated anyway.' After attempting to her moves, she admitted: 'And I have to say, I am a real human. I'm not AI-generated, I wish I was though. I do feel like an alien sometimes.'

The sweet and salty pots cost £4.99 or £3.99 for Lidl Plus members, which is far more expensive than the store's other chocolate spreads. It wasn't around for long though as it sold out in a mere 84 minutes. Numerous supermarkets and bargain stores have been jumping on the Dubai-style chocolate trend. One of the most-anticipated was the M&S version, which it turned out was a new take on the viral Big Daddy chocolate bar. The Big Daddy Pistachio is on the pricier end, costing £8.50 for a big 280g bar. Similarly posh supermarket Waitrose also released a version for £10.
