One Piece theory: Could Gol D. Roger's body be hidden at Laugh Tale?

Time of India14-05-2025

The Pirate King's final resting place might not be what fans expect. For almost 25 years and through 1,000+ chapters, One Piece has mesmerized fans across the globe with its grand narrative, deep character development, and intriguing lore. The greatest mystery of the series remains
Laugh Tale
, the fabled final island that is home to the
One Piece treasure
. Fans are beginning to get excited as Luffy's arrival there approaches, but a crazy new fan theory has emerged — what if
Gol D. Roger
himself, the Pirate King, is STILL at Laugh Tale?
I know that sounds insane, but in the hands of the master
Eiichiro Oda
there are hidden clues and emotional, full-circle moments all over the place. If you're unfamiliar with the anime or manga, Gol D. Roger was the person who created the "Great Pirate Era" when he was executed by the World Government. There's one very odd aspect that long-time fans may have picked up on — Roger's body was never seen or discussed again.
That could be a sign that something huge is on the horizon.
Reasons Gol D. Roger is still involved in the last One Piece arc

Outside of maybe the death of Ace, in One Piece death is a big deal. When heavy hitters like Whitebeard and Ace died, they received elaborate burials, and the resulting graves turned into shrines of respect. For Gol D.
Roger — the most legendary pirate in all the world — there is no tomb, no burial at sea, no one knows what became of his corpse following his execution in Loguetown.
This absence just as clearly feels like a choice. Oda doesn't let something like that slip. What if Roger's body was brought to Laugh Tale by his crewmates?
Roger's crew keeps reappearing for a reason
Rayleigh, Crocus, and Gaban All Lead the Straw Hats
It's been a few months now since the Straw Hat Pirates have repeatedly crossed paths with members of Roger's old crew. Crocus in the first half of the Grand Line, Rayleigh training Luffy during the two-year time skip, and Gaban likely showing up in Elbaf. This pattern just looks too systematic to be a coincidence.
Each of these meetings has had particular significance as key turning points in the Straw Hats' journey. So why not allow Roger himself to join us for this final phase — not in the flesh, of course, but still in a very real and powerful way.
Could Roger's remains be waiting for a Laugh Tale?
A Tribute, a Remembrance, or a Last Farewell?
Another fantastic one is that Roger's skeleton or corpse is located within Laugh Tale alongside a tone dial or even a recording of his final message. This would give fans a chance to follow his entire gigantic flashback of a life, his maiden voyage to when he visited Laugh Tale and uncovered the True History of the world — something even Luffy hasn't done yet.
This wouldn't merely be emotional — it would be epic. Roger's last message might just go on to detail it all: the Void Century, the Will of D., Joy Boy, and what the true meaning of the One Piece is. If so, then it's only fitting that Roger 'shows up' one last time.
Hints in the series suggest Roger is still 'Waiting'
Whitebeard, Crocus, and the Last Ride
In One Piece, there are quiet but staggering suggestions that Roger remains tied to the story's conclusion. Before his own death, Whitebeard informed Blackbeard that Roger was 'waiting for someone.' Arguably the most impactful moment happens when Crocus, the Roger Pirates' doctor, engages a portrait of Roger himself when the Straw Hats first depart Reverse Mountain, explaining that Luffy seems like 'the one.'
So, whom is Roger waiting on? Seems like all signs point to Luffy — the man who picked up Joy Boy's will and is continuing on their path to bring together the whole world. When Luffy finally comes to Laugh Tale, Roger's last tale could be the final key to unlocking the truth.
Will we get to see Roger's flashback before One Piece ends
With only one Road Poneglyph left to find, Luffy and the Straw Hats are closer than ever to reaching Laugh Tale. With five years worth of episodes remaining, Oda has sworn that the end of One Piece will be an emotional and fulfilling experience, one loaded with answers. Whether it's through someone discovering Roger's remains, or finding a recording left for them at Laugh Tale itself, a complete flashback of Roger's journey would be the ideal way to connect the past to the present.
Fans already understand that Roger was simply born too early to turn the world on its head. It turns out Luffy will be the one to finally complete what Roger started. When he does, the full meaning of Gol D. Roger's dying words—and his legacy—will finally be known.

The movie had immense hype since its release with two of the most prominent filmmakers collaborating; however, it is reportedly struggling to hit the Rs 50 crore mark in India even after nine days of release. As per trade analyst Sacnilk, the movie saw its collections dip under Rs 1 crore, collecting just around Rs 75 lakhs on its second Friday, as per the early estimates. This makes it the film's lowest single-day figure since its release. The week started strong with an impressive Rs 15.5 crore on Day 1, but the momentum quickly dropped. On the second day, the movie only collected Rs 7.15 crore, followed by Rs 7.75 crore on Day 3. Despite weekend footfalls, the numbers failed to cross expectations. 'Housefull 5' Box Office collection day 8: Akshay Kumar's comedy film earns Rs 6 crore, total crosses Rs 133 crore

After a smashing start at the box office, Akshay Kumar's multi-starrer comedy 'Housefull 5' has begun to lose some momentum. While the film opened strong and pulled in big numbers during its first week, its eighth day saw the lowest collection so far – earning Rs 6 crore. Despite this fall, the movie has still managed to cross the Rs 133 crore mark in India net collections, according to early estimates by Sacnilk. A bumper opening weekend 'Housefull 5' made a grand entry at the box office. It earned Rs 24 crore on its first Friday, followed by Rs 31 crore on Saturday and Rs 32.5 crore on Sunday. By the end of the weekend, the film had already collected Rs 87.5 crore. However, the numbers started to fall gradually during the weekdays: Day 4 (Monday): Rs 13 crore Day 5 (Tuesday): Rs 11.25 crore Day 6 (Wednesday): Rs 8.5 crore Day 7 (Thursday): Rs 7 crore Day 8 (Friday): Rs 6 crore By the end of Day 8, the film has collected a total of Rs 133.25 crore across India (net), as per early estimates by Sacnilk. Occupancy day 8 With the dip in collections, 'Housefull 5' also witnessed a drop in audience turnout on its eighth day. The overall Hindi occupancy on Friday, 13 June 2025, stood at 11.71%. Morning shows saw just 5.51%, while afternoon and evening shows recorded 12.73% and 11.74% respectively. The night shows performed slightly better at 16.85%. Such a decline is common during weekdays, and the film is expected to recover some momentum as the weekend sets in. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Packed with popular stars 'Housefull 5' boasts a massive star cast, which has played a key role in drawing crowds. In rare white glove sale at SoBo auction, MF's 25 artworks fetch over 68cr

1 2 Defying calls for a ban from right-wing groups earlier in the week and under tight police watch, 25 artworks by MF Husain fetched Rs 68.5 crore at a court-mandated auction in South Mumbai on Thursday that made for a rare white glove sale where every artwork found a buyer. A total of 25 paintings across 21 lots from Husain's 'Our Planet Called Earth (OPCE)' series went under the hammer. "Two of the lots were triptychs, each made up of three individual works," said auctioneer Dadiba Pundole. The evening's highest bid was Rs 9.5 crore for a dramatic triptych from the OPCE series, followed by Rs 8.5 crore for a Gandhi-themed canvas, both acquired by the same buyer. The auction, held at Pundole Art Gallery in Hamilton House in Ballard Estate and overseen by the Bombay High Court through the office of the Bombay Sheriff, went ahead smoothly. Just days earlier, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had submitted a memorandum demanding a ban on the sale, warning of "strong public protest" if it proceeded. The protest was eventually called off. "The auction proceeded without a hitch. I think the police did a fantastic job," said auctioneer and gallerist Dadiba Pundole. In 2004, then nearing 90, Husain set out to create 100 paintings that would, in his words, "document the century I have lived through." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 今すぐ、2025年最高のRPGゲームを制覇しよう! BuzzDaily Winners ゲームをプレイ Undo The result was the OPCE collection that reflected his fascination with global events and human achievement spanning the World Wars, space exploration, aviation, cinema, and the tension between nature and modernity. That same year, industrialist Guru Swarup Srivastava bought these paintings from Husain for Rs 25 crore, a record-breaking figure at the time. Only 25 were completed before the deal collapsed, following Srivastava's Rs 236 crore loan default that led to National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) securing the artworks in 2008. These artworks remained in legal limbo for over a decade before going under the hammer on Thursday. Painted in acrylic on expansive canvases, the OPCE works remain among Husain's most theatrical. The top-selling lot — a large untitled triptych painted in 2004 and exhibited in Paris and Dubai — depicts two seated figures resembling soldiers or explorers at one end, and a butler in a top hat offering a drink at the other. At the centre lies a reclining figure that evokes classical depictions of Christ in scenes of the Deposition. Art experts have called this one of the most enigmatic works in the OPCE series, with viewers left to speculate whether the figure is resting, unwell, or just theatrically posing. The second-highest sale of the evening was an acrylic-on-canvas white and grey toned portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, which went for Rs 8.5 crore where Gandhi's face is deliberately cast in shadow, with a white dove — symbol of peace — hovering near his head. The figure is rendered through familiar details such as the pleats of his dhoti, a pocket watch, his staff, and in the corner, a rural farmer with a plough. Both paintings had been stored rolled for years and were carefully conserved, cleaned, re-lined, and stretched, with minor restoration work ahead of the sale. The auction drew strong participation from in-room bidders, as well as online and phone buyers, including international interest. The proceeds will be deposited with the Mumbai Sheriff and subsequently handed over to the High Court. Husain, long regarded as one of India's most celebrated and controversial modernists, remains a polarising figure. His depictions of Hindu deities and Bharat Mata sparked legal battles and right-wing outrage, eventually pushing him into self-imposed exile. He died in London in 2011, a citizen of Qatar. But as Thursday's sale showed, even in his absence, Husain continues to provoke and to command the room. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here .
