Their split came just eight weeks after he was twice-quizzed by cops over drunken bust-ups with Lou on the Greek party island of Mykonos. A mutual friend of the former couple said: "Andy's had a really tough 12 months and has struggled a lot since his marriage breakdown. "Lou, who is sober, would prefer him to give up boozing, although she has dated other men who drink alcohol in the past. "Andy's mad about the idea, but she's got his best interests at heart. "She's been there throughout all the ups and downs over the past year and really does love him. "But it's all been very toxic and upsetting. It's as if they can't live with or without each other. "There are changes that Andy has to make - but it's whether he is committed enough to do that. "For now, he felt like he couldn't make certain promises, but who knows what the future will hold for them both." Carroll's whirlwind romance began just weeks after he split from Towie star Billi Mucklow, mum to three of his five kids, in summer 2024. Just days after splitting, the exes are at war over who was the one to pull the plug on their tempestuous love affair. 'Since being back home in England, Andy and Lou have had the head-space to think about what they really want out of this relationship," our source added. 'There have been a hell of a lot of ups and downs but now he's started a fresh chapter at Dagenham, Lou made clear what Andy needs to do to keep her." Lou ignored news of the split breaking last night - posting a boat snap from Ibiza. She declined to comment when approached by The Sun.

Brooklyn Beckham's vow renewal photos raise concerns as fans issue same 'alarm'
Beckham supporters have grown concerned after noticing a significant 'warning sign' in Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's vow renewal photographs. The delighted pair chose to wed for a second time in three years before 200 relatives and friends. Unfortunately, the intimate images revealed that the family feud between Brooklyn and his parents has reached rock bottom, with his inner circle excluded from the event. Sources claim that not only were David, Victoria and their children Cruz, Romeo and Harper not invited, but they were completely unaware the ceremony was taking place. Nicola and Brooklyn's Instagram snaps sent ripples of shock through the Beckham household, with their eldest son celebrating alongside his in-laws in their absence, reports the Mirror. Adding insult to injury, Nicola ensured her parents took centre stage on the day, with her father Nelson conducting the ceremony and mother Claudia lending her wedding gown for the 'bride' to don. However, supporters were more troubled after spotting a worrying element in the vow renewal photographs. Following numerous claims that Brooklyn appeared 'dejected' and like a 'visitor at his own wedding', one Instagram user turned sleuth and tallied how many images the aspiring chef actually features in. (Image: nicolaannepeltzbeckham/Instagram) Nicola beamed as she stood beside her parents Nelson and Claudia. (Image: Instagram/nicolaannepeltzbeckham) "Out of 48 pictures of the wedding 10 have got Brooklyn in them without his face being obscured by his wife's. I haven't really followed this narrative but came to see the pictures today," observed the sharp-eyed fan. "It seems like it was more of an excuse for Instagram photoshoot than a celebration of love." Others also pointed out that Brooklyn was absent from most of the photographs which centred on actress Nicole and her companions. "Brooklyn looks like a guest at his own 'second wedding" mocked a third. "He does! !" one replied. "I noticed the same and there is one photo of her and Brooklyn on all of these. Brooklyn looks like a guest at her party. I know we don't know what has truly happened but it's very sad. "I have a son and watching this makes me worry," said another. Last night, the Mirror exclusive revealed how friends of Nicola and Brooklyn have told how Brooklyn's siblings Romeo and Cruz were the reason the Beckhams's didnt get a call up to the no-expense spared nuptials. "Brooklyn's brothers have been fanning the openly made fun of and trolled Brooklyn in comments on social media," said the pal. One comment under the spotlight was when Cruz responded to a post from a user asking him he was "going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something?". Nelson Peltz, Claudia Heffner Peltz and Nicola Peltz-Beckham (Image: nicolaannepeltzbeckham/Instagram) To which Cruz, seemingly referring to his brother Brooklyn's many career paths, responded: "Wrong brother mate". There are some who feel Nicola is looking for "any reason" to drive Brooklyn further from his brothers. She's previously been accused of "isolating" her husband from not only his family, but his friends too. A friend of Peltz has responded to queries about why the entire Beckham family was barred from the wedding celebration on August 2. We reported yesterday on the disappointment that not only were Victoria and David not invited, but also his three siblings Cruz, Harper and Romeo, as well as his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. An insider told the Mirror: "Why punish the whole family for what is essentially a fall-out with just the mum and dad." Friends of Nicola and Brooklyn argue it was difficult not to invite sister Harper, who is close to Brooklyn, as well as his grandparents. The mate stated: "They are trying to make the best decisions for them in what are very unfortunate circumstances. Navigating family stuff is hard and it's ugly." Remarkably, they still hold out hope for a reconciliation. The friend said: "The door is open. No one wants to see this kind of pain exist. There is always hope. At the end of the day. Blood is thicker than water." Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here.

Taylor Swift's GAA lotto numbers might just be an album easter egg
Back in 2018, when Taylor Swift swapped stadium spotlights for the stately charm of Glin Castle, she left more behind than a flurry of Instagram envy. In a moment that made local headlines, and a few parish WhatsApp groups, the star bought a humble lotto ticket from Glin GAA club. Now, nearly seven years later, Irish Swifties are convinced that the numbers she picked weren't just random at all, but a cryptic breadcrumb trail to her next album. Back in 2018, when Taylor Swift swapped stadium spotlights for the stately charm of Glin Castle, she left more behind than a flurry of Instagram envy. Pic: Canadian Press/Shutterstock Hugh Dunne, the club member in charge of the lotto, told the Mirror back in 2023 that Swift still enters 'from time to time' but hasn't yet bagged the jackpot. That hasn't stopped fans from poring over a photo of her original ticket, which, they insist, features a date in 2025 — and possibly, a pop music plot twist. This theory has only been amplified by the announcement of Swift's 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, this week, with many theorising that she was leaving us easter eggs towards the release as early as 2018. 'I've been waiting nearly 7 years for this to mean something,' TikTok user hanna_ellena wrote, alongside an image of the ticket. 'In 2018, Taylor Swift bought a lotto ticket in Glin, Ireland — numbers: 10, 18, 20, 25. She didn't win then… but what if 10•18•25 is the real jackpot?' the TikToker added, with fans wondering if this could be a potential lead. 'And I'm just saying the album colours are orange and green,' one commenter suggested, in reference to the Irish flag. 'Maybe something is coming out on that day?' another added, while a third noted that Swift didn't choose her heavily publicised lucky number 13. Taylor, you truly are a mastermind.
