TBT 2025 Semifinals Recap: Eberlein Drive Advances With Win Over Best Virginia
By the end of the night, there will be just two teams remaining. Kicking things off, Eberlein Drive took down West Virginia's alumni team, Best Virginia, in the first game of the semifinal round.
Up next, Wichita State's alumni team, Aftershocks, takes on We Are D3 (8 p.m. ET on FS1 and the FOX Sports app) for the final spot in Sunday's championship game.

Both teams came out strong in this one. Eberlein Drive held a narrow advantage over Best Virginia after the first quarter, 21-18, but the WVU alum had a second-quarter spark that put them ahead 40-37 headed into halftime. Terry Taylor (Eberlein Drive) and Toby Okani (Best Virginia) led all players in the first half with 10 points each.
Eberlein Drive found its footing again in the third quarter, jumping out in front by three heading into the fourth, 64-61.
Heading into the Elam Ending — the tournament's alternate ending, in which the game clock is shut off in the fourth quarter and a target score is set — it was a two-point game, 77-75. The target score was 85, and Gabe York came to life for Eberlein Drive. His clutch 3-point shooting lifted his team to the win. York led all players with 25 points.

The 2025 National Muslim Basketball Tournament happening in Schaumburg starting Thursday
The National Muslim Basketball Tournament is taking place in the Chicago area this weekend More than 600 Muslim athletes will come together for four days of competitive games. This year's Midwest regional is happening at the Schaumburg Park District Sport Center. Haroon Saadeh with One Athletics, who is hosting the competition, said the games expanded to four days instead of three to accommodate more participating teams. "Last year we had 60 teams as well, typically we have 30 to 40, and the interest has grown," he said. "We introduced the youth basketball league divisions, so that definitely helped a lot more teams get registered." The tournament will feature eight divisions, including 11, 13, 15, and 17 U, a men's elite division, two girls divisions, 13 and 17 U, and a vets division for those 35 and older. Saadeh said the money raised from this weekend will be donated toward Gaza relief. "The reason why we're doing this this year, and the last couple years, is raising funds for, you know, for what's happening over there. So we're actually donating all our funds and proceeds through Human Development Fund, which is our main sponsor for the tournament. So there are they are definitely our charity of choice. All the money that we make during the weekend, which is basically through team registrations, is donated to Gaza," he said. The tournament kicks off Thursday. Registration for the event has closed. The Final Four teams in the Elite Division will be invited to the championship.

The Basketball Tournament TBT 2025 Championship Recap: Aftershocks Top Eberlein Drive To Claim Title Published Aug. 3, 2025 6:49 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link The Basketball Tournament has officially crowned a new champion, with Aftershocks (Wichita State's alumni team) walking away with the $1 million winner-take-all prize on Sunday after defeating Eberlein Drive by double digits. Here's a recap of Sunday night's TBT action! Aftershocks 82, Eberlein Drive 67 Aftershocks was the first and last team to score on Sunday en route to winning the 2025 TBT title. It jumped out to a 12-point lead in the first quarter with ease, but Eberlein Drive fired back with a 12-0 run to knot things up at 18-all late in the frame. It was a one-point game, 21-20, heading into the second quarter, where Eberlein Drive took its first lead of the game. It was short-lived, however, as Aftershocks went on a 12-0 run of its own to get back in the driver's seat. It was a back-and-forth battle to close out the first half. Aftershocks took a nine-point lead into the break, 46-37. Eberlein Drive kept things close to start the second half but was never able to find a rhythm. It pulled within five points, 55-50, with roughly four minutes left in the third quarter but never truly threatened Aftershocks. Both teams combined for only 13 points in the fourth quarter before the Elam Ending — the tournament's alternate ending, in which the game clock is shut off in the fourth quarter and a target score is set. The first team to 82 would win it all. After a hard-fought final frame, Marcus Keene sunk a free throw for Aftershocks to seal the win. ADVERTISEMENT Keene's game-winner marked his seventh during an Elam Ending, passing Jamil Wilson (six) for the most in TBT history. Keene, who was named TBT 2025 MVP, led all players with 22 points on 50% shooting. What's more, he left the door open for a potential return to the tournament next year if Aftershocks participate again. Junathaen Watson led Eberlein Drive with 14 points.
