Baby boy, 20 months, rushed to hospital after alleged assault in Dublin park
Gardaí have launched an investigation following the alleged assault which took place in Thomastown Park, Sallynoggin, Dublin on Tuesday, July 22 at around 2:30pm.
The child, who is 20 months old, was rushed to Children's Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin for treatment of their injuries.
One man, aged in his 50s, was arrested and detained but has since been released without charge. Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that occurred in Thomastown Park, Sallynoggin, Dublin (on the) afternoon Tuesday 22 July, 2025 at approximately 2.30pm.
"A male infant, 20 months, was injured during the incident and taken to Children's Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin for treatment.
'A male, aged in his 50s was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He has since been released without charge and investigations are ongoing."

Gardaí have launched an urgent search appeal for a Cork teenager missing for a number of days. John O'Donoghue, aged 15, is reported missing from Bandon, County Cork. Gardaí concerned for wellbeing of missing man who may be driving silver car
Gardaí are concerned for the wellbeing of a missing Wicklow man last seen on Tuesday who may be travelling in a silver Ford Focus. Jason Kenna, aged 50, has been missing from Greystones, Co. Wicklow since Tuesday, July 29. Jason is described as approximately five foot 10 inches in height, of slim build, with brown hair and brown eyes. He may be travelling in a silver Ford Focus bearing a 09-WW registration. Both Gardaí and Jason's family are concerned for his welfare and have appealed for anyone with any information on his whereabouts to contact authorities. A Garda spokesperson said: 'Gardaí are appealing for the public's assistance in locating 50-year-old Jason Kenna, who has been reported missing from Greystones, Co. Wicklow since Tuesday, 29 July.' Tributes pour in for 'always helpful' young Dad after death in motorcycle crash
Tributes have poured in for a 'lovely, quiet and always helpful' young man who had 'his whole life ahead of him' following his tragic death in a motorcycle crash this week. Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle which occurred on the R675 at Ballinahilla in Waterford at around 11.45pm on Wednesday night. Sadly, James (Jimmy) Power of Kill, Waterford, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene near Bunmahon. His body was removed to the morgue at University Hospital Waterford. James will be dearly missed by his beloved parents, adoring brothers and sisters, his loving daughter Aria, his many extended family members and a wide circle of friends and neighbours. James will repose at Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Saturday, August 2, from 2pm to 5pm with vigil prayers and rosary taking place at 4pm. Funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Kill on Monday, August 4 at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace. One mourner penned: 'My deepest condolences to Breda, John and family! What a shock it is to lose a child - it should never happen by the order of things. Wishing you strength to cope - we will all remember Jimmy, what a lovely, quiet and always helpful young man he was, with a whole life before him.' Another wrote: 'Sincere condolences to John, Breda and all of Jimmy's family. Great memories down through the years together where he always brought a smile to many a he Rest in Peace.' While one more shared: 'Deepest condolences to you John, Breda and family, we were deeply saddened to hear of the sad passing of your beloved son Jimmy. We are thinking and praying for you all in this very sad time, may God give you strength in these very dark days, he was such a lovely, quiet young man'.
