Swift Action Ordered on 25 Complaints Received at Prajavani Program
Gadwal: Giving high priority to addressing public grievances, RDO Srinivasa Rao instructed the officials to resolve the complaints received during the Prajavani (Public Grievance Day) program immediately without any delay.
The Prajavani program was conducted on Monday at the Integrated District Offices Complex meeting hall. A total of 25 complaints were submitted by citizens who had come from various parts of the district.
During the program, the complainants presented their issues directly to Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Srinivasa Rao and Employment Officer (EO) Narender, submitting their petitions and seeking swift action.
RDO Srinivasa Rao emphasized that the complaints should not be kept pending and directed the concerned officials to examine each case promptly and ensure speedy resolution of the grievances. He stressed the importance of responsive governance and reminded the officials that public confidence depends on how quickly and effectively their concerns are addressed.
Officials from various departments participated in the event, listened to the grievances, and assured immediate action where possible.
The Prajavani program continues to serve as an important platform for citizens to directly interact with government officials and seek redressal for their problems.

Arrested journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao taken to Guntur govt. hospital for health checkup
Kommineni Srinivasa Rao, senior journalist working in Sakshi TV, who was arrested on alleged broadcasting of a controversial allegation on women fraternity, was brought to the Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH) for medical check-up on Tuesday (June 10, 2025). He was arrested in Hyderabad on Monday (June 9) around noon and shifted to Nallapadu Police Station in Guntur by midnight. In the morning on Tuesday (June 10), he was brought to hospital for the health checkup, before production him in the court. The criminal case was filed on him at Thullur Police Station but he was brought to Nallapadu Police Station to avoid unforseen problems. The police in Guntur told The Hindu that he would be produced before Mangalagiri Court for further proceedings. Cases have been registered against the accused including Mr. Krishnam Raju, Mr. Srinivasa Rao and Sakshi TV management under Section 3(1)(u) of SC and ST Prevention of Atrocities Act (POA) Act, 1989, Section 67 of IT Act-2000-2008, Section 79 (Word, gesture or an act intended to outrage the modesty of women), Section 196 (Promoting enmity between different groups) and other charges including 353(2), 299, 356(2), 61(1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). While Mr. Srinivasa Rao was arrested, the police are still on the hunt for Mr. Krishnam Raju, who is absconding. The police informed that Mr. Raju, who allegedly made derogatory remarks during the TV debate, escaped from his residence and will be arrested as soon as possible.

‘Sakshi TV' anchor arrested for derogatory remarks against Amaravati women
Hyderabad: Senior journalist and 'Sakshi TV' anchor Kommineni Srinivasa Rao was arrested on Monday by Andhra Pradesh police for allegedly making derogatory remarks against women from the Amaravati region during a televised debate. He was detained from his residence in Journalists' Colony, Hyderabad, and taken to Andhra Pradesh for further legal proceedings. Srinivasa Rao is to be produced before a court in the Guntur district, where a case has been registered at the Thullur Police Station. The arrest follows a complaint lodged by State Madiga Corporation Director Khambampati Sirisha. Along with Srinivasa Rao, political analyst V.V.R. Krishnam Raju, and the management of 'Sakshi TV' have also been named in the FIR. The accused have been booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other relevant sections of the IPC. Several Amaravati-based women farmers and members of various Joint Action Committees (JACs) have also filed complaints, condemning the remarks that allegedly referred to Amaravati as a 'capital of prostitutes'-- a statement widely viewed as an offensive and demeaning insult to the women who gave up their land for the capital city's development. Assembly Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju also filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP), calling for strict action. 'Such remarks are not only biased but a serious breach of journalistic ethics and human decency,' he said. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu strongly condemned the remarks aired on the channel owned by former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. 'Our culture honours daughters and mothers. Vulgar and disgraceful remarks against them, under the guise of political discourse or media commentary, are unacceptable,' Naidu said. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan shared the same sentiment, warning that the government would take stringent legal action. He described the remarks as part of a politically motivated smear campaign against Amaravati and its women land contributors. 'This is not an isolated incident. It's part of a well-orchestrated conspiracy. The public must see through the real intentions of Jagan Mohan Reddy and his media machinery,' he said. Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) dismissed the outrage as a 'malicious campaign' led by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its allied media. YSRCP leader Pothina Mahesh clarified that the statements made by the journalist were not reflective of the party's views. 'TDP is deliberately amplifying these remarks to divert attention from the strong public response to our recent protests,' Mahesh said. He also accused the TDP and its social media wing of hypocrisy, alleging that they regularly engage in online abuse, including targeting YSRCP women leaders and supporters. 'These platforms are being funded by Nara Lokesh to malign opponents and spread misinformation,' Mahesh alleged.

CPI(M) demands regularisation of houses built by poor on govt. lands
Communist Party of India-Marxist [CPI(M)] State Secretary V. Srinivasa Rao on Sunday (June 8) demanded that the government give land titles to the poor residing in houses on government land, as per the G.O. No. 30. Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the G.O. 30, issued in January to provide houses to the poor, has not been implemented. The G.O. clearly states that titles should be issued to those residing even on objectionable government land and that their settlements be regularised. The government did not carry out any door-to-door campaign, and even when people voluntarily submitted applications, the process remains pending. In places like Palakoderu, applications were not even accepted and were summarily rejected, he pointed out. In West Godavari district, the officials demolished the houses even after the residents applied for regularisation. Action should be taken against such officers and the police who carried out the demolitions, and houses should be built immediately or alternative homes provided at the same locations, he said. CPIM State secretariat member Ch. Babu Rao said the kind of attention being given to 'Yogandhra' should instead be focused on 'Gr̥hāndhra' (Home-Andhra) and 'Nivāsāndhra' (Residential-Andhra), but unfortunately, the government is not taking up such work. During the elections, the NDA promised to provide house sites—three cents in villages and two cents in towns—to the people. Now that a year has passed since the NDA came to power, he demanded that the government release a White Paper, detailing how many people have actually received the house sites.
