Swift Action Ordered on 25 Complaints Received at Prajavani Program
The Prajavani program was conducted on Monday at the Integrated District Offices Complex meeting hall. A total of 25 complaints were submitted by citizens who had come from various parts of the district.
During the program, the complainants presented their issues directly to Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Srinivasa Rao and Employment Officer (EO) Narender, submitting their petitions and seeking swift action.
RDO Srinivasa Rao emphasized that the complaints should not be kept pending and directed the concerned officials to examine each case promptly and ensure speedy resolution of the grievances. He stressed the importance of responsive governance and reminded the officials that public confidence depends on how quickly and effectively their concerns are addressed.
Officials from various departments participated in the event, listened to the grievances, and assured immediate action where possible.
The Prajavani program continues to serve as an important platform for citizens to directly interact with government officials and seek redressal for their problems.

Taking a strong exception to the remarks made by TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao on the issues related to privatisation of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), CITU State general secretary Ch. Narasinga Rao has accused the TDP-led alliance government in Andhra Pradesh of 'supporting the Centre's decision on strategic sale of the PSU'. A notification was issued on August 16 calling for bids for Expression of Interest (EOI) for the operation and maintenance of 34 wings of the VSP. Prospective bidders were asked to apply by September 9. On Tuesday, Mr. Srinivasa Rao reiterated that the NDA government was committed to protecting the VSP. However, he said that some harsh decisions were inevitable for the continuation of the VSP as a PSU, including privatisation of some sections of the plant to improve productivity and reduce costs. Referring to it, Mr. Narasinga Rao condemned the TDP State president for 'justifying the firing of workers on the plea of improving efficiency'. 'The VSP has some of the best workers in the country and the quality of Vizag steel continues to be impeccable. Concealing these facts, ground has been prepared for handing over the VSP to Arcelor Mittal,' he alleged. He alleged that the Centre had unilaterally terminated the services of 5,000 contract workers, 'with the support of the TDP and JSP'. Highly qualified officers and workers were shown the door, in two phases, under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS), he said. He dared Mr. Srinivasa Rao to prove his allegations related to 'ghost workers' and the involvement of trade union leaders in corrupt practices. Disputing the claims made by the TDP State president, Mr. Narasinga Rao said that the three Blast Furnaces were working during the YSRCP's tenure. 'The Centre had deliberately shut down two blast furnaces in 2021 and pushed the plant into losses of ₹7 crore as part of its plan for the strategic sale. While VSP, which has an annual production capacity of 50 lakh tonnes, was given a loan of ₹11,440 crore, while the Bhadravathi Steel Plant in Karnataka, with a production capacity of 50,000 tonnes, was given a grant of ₹18,000 crore,' he said. The Centre had bowed to pressure from the party which had just two MPs and gave ₹18,000 crore. He wondered as to what the 23 MPs from A.P. had done for the VSP. CITU district general secretary RKSV Kumar, Public Sector Coordination Committee convener S. Jyothiswara Rao and Steel Plant Employees Union general secretary U. Ramaswamy were present.

Visakhapatnam Steel Plant will never be privatised: TDP leader Palla Srinivasa Rao
VISAKHAPATNAM: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday reiterated that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) would remain in the public sector and would not be privatised. Addressing reporters at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, Srinivasa Rao said concerns about privatisation were misplaced. 'The outsourcing of certain auxiliary works to private firms should not be mistaken for privatisation. Such arrangements are not new. They have existed for decades. Today, more than 15,000 contract workers are employed in the plant, and their contribution is vital to production,' he stated. The TDP leader credited the intervention of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Rammohan Naidu, and Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat, with the support of the Union government, for mobilising over Rs 14,000 crore to stabilise operations. This included Rs 11,440 crore from the Centre and Rs 2,600 crore from the State.

TDP rubbishes rumours on ‘privatisation' of VSP
Mangalagiri: TDP state president Palla Srinivasa Rao called for an end to the rumours circulating about the privatisation of the Vizag Steel Plant. Addressing the media at the party's central office here on Tuesday, Srinivasa Rao categorically dismissed claims by YSRCP leaders and affiliated labour unions, asserting, 'The propaganda that the Vizag Steel Plant is being privatised is entirely baseless. The people of Andhra Pradesh need not worry, the plant will remain in the public sector.' Srinivasa Rao said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is making proactive efforts to save the plant, he noted that the plant has received a crucial financial lifeline with more than Rs 14,000 crore in funding, Rs 11,440 crore from the Central government and Rs 2,600 crore from the state, to meet operational needs for raw materials, power, and water. He recalled that during a previous crisis in 1998, leaders secured Rs 1,350 crore to save the plant. Now, with the combined sup port of CM Naidu, Union minister Ram Mohan Naidu, MP Sribharat, and the Modi-led Central government, the plant is once again on course for profitability. Refuting privatisation rumours, Srinivasa Rao clarified only some contract work is outsourced to private firms to enhance service quality, a longstanding practice. He emphasised that with over 15,000 contract workers, production is steady, but the plant must run at least two of its three blast furnaces at full capacity to break even. Achieving this operations level could result in profits of Rs 100–200 crore per month, even with a monthly wage bill of Rs 240 crore. Srinivasa Rao criticized the previous YSRCP government for operating at just 20–30 per cent capacity from 2020–2025, resulting in heavy losses, and accused some labour leaders of illegal fund collection. He called for a probe into these allegations and warned against spreading misinformation, particularly on social media, stating, 'False knowledge is more dangerous than ignorance.' Assuring public sector status, Srinivasa Rao said the coalition government is committed to the plant's prosperity and worker welfare, with ongoing efforts for the 8,000 displaced families. He concluded that under Chief Minister Naidu's leadership, any rumours about privatisation will be firmly countered.
