Austin Police search for 3 suspects in commercial burglary investigation
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department asked for help identifying three burglary suspects related to a March 21 commercial burglary.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. in the 300 block of San Antonio Street.
APD said the three suspects arrived in a dark four-door pickup truck, broke into a storage unit and stole multiple items by loading them onto the truck before leaving the scene.
The first suspect was described as a man last seen wearing dark pants and a dark sweater.
APD said the second suspect was a man last seen wearing a green Hi-Vis vest, a dark cap, an orange balaclava mask, and blue jeans.
Police said the third suspect was a man last seen wearing a green Hi-Vis vest, a red cap, a dark balaclava mask, and dark pants.
The suspect vehicle was described as a possible recent model, four-door Chevrolet Silverado that was dark in color.
Anyone with information related to this burglary was asked to contact APD's Commercial Burglary Unit at APDCommercialBurglary@austintexas.gov.
Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. APD said a reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.

Medics took Riley to Miami Valley Hospital with suspected minor injuries, according to the report. Dayton police officers note in the report that they believe Riley was driving under the influence of alcohol. An OVI test was given, but the results are currently unknown, according to the report. At the time of writing, Montgomery County Jail records show that Riley is in custody on preliminary charges of OVI, carrying a concealed weapon, using weapons while intoxicated, and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. APD hosts training session to recruit more women into the department
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Historically, jobs in law enforcement have been considered male-dominated, which is why the 'Women In Blue' over at APD are encouraging other women in the community to grab a seat at the table. They hope to inspire the next generation of female officers. Twenty years ago, Lt. Jennifer Garcia left her former career as a counselor to become a police officer when there weren't many opportunities for women. 'We need to have a seat at the table,' shared Garcia. It took decades for women to have the ability to move up the ranks and take on the same roles as their male counterparts, which has deterred women from seeing themselves in those positions. 'We don't have any problem recruiting male applicants, but sometimes female applicants are a little more apprehensive,' explained APD Sgt. Chermain Carter. APD: K-9 killed by 'friendly' fire during SWAT standoff According to the National Policing Institute, 50 years ago, there were fewer than a thousand female police officers. Fast forward to today, in 2025, there are about 13% or 96,000 women. APD is hoping to change that narrative in the metro. 'In today's world, women are moving into more non-traditional female jobs, occupations, and we definitely want to see that continue,' said Garcia. Saturday's Women In Blue event was all about inspiring and recruiting future female officers. Participants received first-hand knowledge about the job, the application, and the recruitment process from current female officers. And their physical capabilities were put to the test for the job. Crash shuts down all lanes of I-35 southbound near 51st Street
AUSTIN (KXAN) — All southbound lanes of Interstate 35 in north Austin were shut down Saturday night due to a crash, according to the Austin Police Department. APD posted on X shortly after 10 p.m. that officers were responding to a crash in the 5400 block of I-35 southbound. That area is between 51st Street and U.S. Hwy 290.
