McDonald's fans 'wanted to throw up' after trying McSpaghetti
It is always interesting to see what chain restaurants are like abroad, and we're all susceptible to an airport McDonald's meal before our flight home in the hopes of trying something completely different on the menu.
McDonald's meals vary from country to country with some places offering unique dishes, like France with the Croque McDo, and the Netherlands with the McKroket. However, one meal in particular has riled the internet and gone viral for its sheer audacity - the McSpaghetti.
The dish is only available in the Philippines and Indonesia and essentially is a small, cardboard container of spaghetti with sweet tomato sauce, sliced hot dogs, and cheese.
According to TikTok videos, you can get a McSpaghetti meal with fries and a drink for 152 Philippine pesos, which is the equivalent of about £1.98. You can also get a McSpaghetti Happy Meal for 156 Philippine pesos, one video showed.
One TikTok user posted a video of him reviewing the McSpaghetti and he pointed out the size of the container, saying: 'This is only like four bites.'
However, he continued on to say of the dish: 'That's not bad, I'm not going to say it's Olive Garden level, but it's not bad … It's not very expensive and it's basically a side portion.' He added: 'It's a pretty good spaghetti, for McDonald's it's pretty good.'
Another social media user who tried the McSpaghetti said: 'It's so little, a little baby spaghetti.' She added: 'It's a little bit sweet … it's not terrible but it's not great either.'
However, one customer was less than impressed, and said: 'I'm not even joking, they prepared this in about 30 seconds. Why did I buy this?' After trying the pasta, he said: 'Oh mate, this is grim. It's cold … I'm not even going to bother eating the rest of that, it makes me want to throw up.'
Someone else agreed, stating that the meal 'offended' them: 'Nonna's rolling in her grave AND her pasta dough. Am I offended? Absolutely. Did I eat it? Also yes.'
One Italian customer posted his review of the dish, and simply said: 'I don't know what to say …'. He pulled a face, and confirmed in the comment section that it was not good.
A commenter questioned if the dish was 'legal' while another said that they had also tried it and it was the 'worst' spaghetti they had eaten. One TikTok user said 'it's very artificial', while another said the meat it in tasted like 'processed sausages'.
Another McDonald's dish which has garnered attention online is the McAloo Tikki and is available in India. Beef isn't served in Indian McDonald's restaurants, so this vegetarian burger features a spiced potato and pea patty with tamarind-style sauce, onions, and tomatoes.
Meanwhile, the McKroket in the Netherlands is one of the other more distinctive burgers offered by the fast-food chain. The deep-fried croquette patty is added to a traditional burger bun along with mustard. The Netherlands restaurants offer both a meat and vegetarian option.

American shopper 'sent into coma' after Sainsbury's visit
Content creator Paige Wester, who is an American living in England, posted a TikTok where she revealed her shock and confusion over how Brits shop. Taking to Sainsbury's and in a later video Tesco, the TikTok star branded the series "things in a British grocery store that would send Americans into a coma." Both videos have gone viral on TikTok, gaining a combined nearly 3 million views. American's shocked over British supermarkets Stepping into Sainsbury's, Paige was first surprised by British eggs, sharing: "Their eggs are never refrigerated, they're always in these containers or on shelves." One big element the TikTok creator was stunned by was the beloved tea aisle: "The tea aisle is absolutely insane to me. "It's an entire aisle just dedicated to different types of teas." Paige was also surprised by Brits' love of pies: "People love to make anything into a pie. "We've got steak pies, we've got chicken pies, we've got cheesy veg pies. "Don't get me wrong, I love a good pie, but not everything needs to be inside of a pie." The TikTok then entered the 'scary' part of Sainsbury's when she discovered black pudding on the shelf: "This is where things get scary, but black pudding is a staple in most people's households." Later, the content creator visited Tesco and was confused by the amount of juice concentrate available: "Americans may be fat, but someone tell me why British people won't drink water, they have to have juice." Adding: "Let's just all grow up and drink water like a normal person." Recommended Reading Last but not least, the American was stuck on having to pack their own shopping bags, sharing: "I know this is the lazy American in me, I'm well aware of that. "But I miss people packing up my groceries for me. "I leave the grocery store actually sweating because it stresses me out so much."

Mum adopts gecko from Spain after finding it in her suitcase
Beth Withington and her partner Ryan Birch, 31, travelled to Costa Blanca in Spain for a week of sun with their three kids on July 13. When they returned home on July 20 from their Jet2 holiday, the 24-year-old, who was simply expecting to tackle a mountain of washing, was shocked to spot the tiny reptile lurking inside Ryan's case. The pharmacist dispenser assumes the 2.5-inch gecko must have been inside their hotel room and covertly crawled into the unlocked case stashed under their dressing table. After sharing their pint-sized stowaway on TikTok, the clip has gone viral with more than 146,000 views (Image: Kennedy News/bethwithington5) The worried couple scooped him up into an aerated plastic tub and rang a vet who confirmed they were able to keep him. Despite previously saying they'd never have pets, the mum-of-three believes the gecko 'chose' their family and have decided to adopt Grylls, named after the British Adventurer Bear Grylls. After sharing their pint-sized stowaway on TikTok, the clip has gone viral with more than 146,000 views. Despite swapping the sunnier climes of Spain for a chillier Manchester, the reptile seems to be thriving thanks to a tank and heat mat gifted by kind-hearted social media users. The couple are due to take him to a vet to ensure he's disease-free and safe for the family to handle. Beth, from Littleborough, Greater Manchester, said: "We were all shocked and didn't know what to say. We couldn't believe it. "It wasn't until Monday afternoon that we opened the suitcase. As I got all the clothes out I noticed a lizard and I was like 'oh my god Ryan there's a lizard there'. I was really shocked. "The first thing I did was slam the suitcase shut because I was a little bit scared. We opened the suitcase back up and it was just there running around. "We took the suitcase back downstairs and at this point we didn't really know what to do. We put it in a plastic tub and my partner put a few holes in it with a screwdriver. "We ended up ringing a lizard wildlife number. He said 'send me your address and a picture of it and someone will pick him up'. "I put a post on social media saying 'does anyone know what to do with it?' A few people commented saying they'd take it in so we thought 'we might as well keep it then'." After the vet confirmed the family were able to keep the gecko, they decided to adopt him. After being gifted a tank and heat mat from social media users, the pair bought locust hoppers, fruit flies, gecko food, reptile bark and a UV light to keep Grylls comfortable. Beth said: "We're enjoying having it as a new member of the family. It's a sign, he clearly wanted to be part of our family. "He chose us and now we've got a little holiday souvenir. "We've called it Grylls like Bear Grylls and my partner says he's a born survivor. He's a very strong little lizard. "We never considered getting a pet gecko and we said we wouldn't have any pets. "We have said if Grylls passes away we will have to buy another one. I think he's really cute and the children would be devastated, it's meant to be. "I told my [three-year-old] son we were getting rid of it at first and this morning when he woke up I told him we're keeping it and he's thrilled. "He said 'I love the lizard's new home, it's amazing'. I think he's very happy about it. "Some people [on TikTok] were really offended and acted like I took it and put it in my case like 'you're coming home with me'. But we believe it chose us. "We couldn't put it into the wild, it wouldn't survive and it wouldn't be fair on it." A Jet2 spokesman said: "With our generous 22kg luggage allowance, there is always room for a gecko or two!"

'I visited UK's biggest waterpark and there's one secret perk for young families'
A mum of two tried out the UK's biggest outdoor waterpark, and she was seriously impressed with what she found, calling it 'the perfect family day out' for her brood The summer holidays are stretching ahead of us, and for parents across the UK prospect of keeping the kids entertained whilst they are off school can sometimes be pretty daunting. Many families throughout the country are working to pretty tight budgets, so parents are often on the lookout for days out that won't break the bank. If you're looking for a day out to remember with the whole family, then one mum-of-two has recommended paying the UK's biggest waterpark a visit this summer - which promises fun for every age group. Designers create kids' dream school shoes - including wheels and secret snack spot 'I'm an Alton Towers rollercoaster expert and people always make one mistake on rides' Perched right by the stunning beach, Goodrington Sands, Splashdown Quaywest is a jewel in Devon's crown as the largest outdoor waterpark in the country. Mum of two, Chloe Sweet, posted about her family's day out to the waterpark on her TikTok account, which boasts 113,000 followers. She was seriously impressed with the range of what the waterpark offered, with something to keep children of every age entertained. "There's 18 waterslides in total," Chloe explained in her video, "If you're into that adrenaline buzz, it's got some serious fast flumes for older children and adults, you've got the slides such as the devil's drop, the screamer, Kamikaze, and much more that will test [your] nerves". However, the facilities and slides for younger children and toddlers left Chloe really impressed, with one area a major perk for young families. "They have a dedicated section called Shipwreck Island, which is amazing for toddlers and little ones. There's seven slides in this section, and it's just the right height for toddlers. "The water is all shallow, so you don't have to stress, it's like a big massive splash zone." Chloe added, "They have water sprinkling out all over and, of course, the big massive tipping bucket that soaks everyone every couple of minutes, the kids absolutely enjoyed themselves". The mum of two explained the different tickets you can get for the waterpark, which include two, three, and four-hour slots, as well as entire day passes. The waterpark warns on their website that you cannot get tickets on the door for this attraction, so anyone interested in spending a day out there has to make sure they have booked their slot ahead. Chloe added that there were good food offerings available at the waterpark, including things like burgers, but that her family opted to bring packed lunches - and there was plenty of space for them to enjoy their little picnic. There's also an ice cream stand, which families will definitely make the most of during a hot summer's day, and Chloe advised that if you are planning on booking a two or three-hour slot, you should make the most of the day out by spending time at the beach next door as well. She called Splashdown Quaywest the "perfect family day out," and people in the comments seemed keen to try it out, with many asking for further details, and one user writing: "That's awesome, looks like it's abroad." and another commenting: "Went Monday...I love it'.
