Another La Masia talent set for pre-season with Barcelona first team under Flick
Hansi Flick, much like in his first year, will again work with a strong group of academy players during Barcelona's upcoming pre-season.
Only Gerard Martin, who requires surgery after a metacarpal injury, and Pablo Torre, currently playing in the Under-21 European Championship and likely to depart this summer, are expected to miss the start of pre-season.

Everyone else will begin from day one, which is excellent news for Flick. Additionally, with Barcelona not participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, the squad will be mentally and physically fresh to prepare properly for the new campaign.
Several promising youth players will join the first team for pre-season training, including Pedro Fernandez, Juan Hernandez, Jofre Torrents, Landry Farre, and Toni Fernandez.
As reported earlier today, Ibrahim Diarra is also expected to take part in some sessions.
Guille Fernandez also set to be called up
Now, according to SPORT, another La Masia player who, barring surprises, will start pre-season with the Barcelona first-team setup under Flick's orders is Guille Fernandez.

The midfielder, widely seen as one of La Masia's top prospects, is just 17 years old and will be a second-year youth player next season. He has already had a prominent role with Barça Atletic over the past year.
It has not been an easy few months, for him or for the team, but the experience has provided valuable learning at this early stage of his career.
Flick wants to involve Guille in the first few weeks of pre-season. The plan also includes taking him on the club's Asian tour – he already participated in last year's tour of the United States.
What about the future?
As for his short-term future, Guille is eager to stay at Barcelona and prove his unquestionable talent. However, he is aware that his position in midfield is heavily populated, and securing a place will be challenging. Still, many scenarios are possible.

Several paths remain open. Guille has received attractive offers from clubs such as Porto and Borussia Dortmund, both known for developing young talent.
For now, his focus is fully on Barcelona. What comes next remains to be seen. All options are on the table – whether that means staying, a transfer with a buy-back clause, or a loan move.

Report – Inter Milan To Focus On Offloading Fringe Midfielder After Completing Ademola Lookman Purchase

Inter Milan will intensify their efforts to offload out-of-favor midfielder Kristjan Asllani after completing Ademola Lookman's signing. According to La Stampa via FCInter1908, the San Siro giants refuse to let any distractions stand in the way of their pursuit of Lookman. Talks with Atalanta have reached an impasse, but the player's wish to join Inter could make the difference. Indeed, Lookman's agents are currently working with the Nerazzurri to unblock negotiations with La Dea. Once they've signed Ademola Lookman, Inter will focus on other deals. Therefore, the club has put the 23-year-old on the market, hoping to earn around €18 million from his sale. However, the former Empoli midfielder turned down a transfer to Real Betis earlier in the summer. Indeed, he is keen to stay in Serie A, where only a handful of teams can afford his price tag. After Bologna and Fiorentina, Torino have joined the race to sign Inter's fringe midfielder. Yet, Marco Baroni's men are hoping to land the Albanian on loan with an option to buy. That's not what Inter chiefs have in mind.

Rory McIlroy reveals he was approached about being playing Ryder Cup captain

We are inching closer and closer to the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black and soon enough we will know which United States players will square off against which European ones. The biggest question within the two groups lies on the American side and whether or not Captain Keegan Bradley will put himself on the team as a player as well. Speaking on Wednesday before the BMW Championship, reigning Masters Champion and top European Rory McIlroy noted that he has been approached himself about the idea of being a playing captain. For what it's worth, he doesn't think it is possible to pull off. It is very possible that Rory is speaking his truth and noting that he does not view the possibility of being a playing captain in the Ryder Cup as something that anyone, obviously himself included, can pull off in our current day and age. We should take him at his word. …but this could also be gamesmanship! The Ryder Cup is an arena void of rules and regulations (generally speaking) and Rory might be trying to get into the head of the Americans here with a bit of a long game play. The clock is ticking. Keegan Bradley will have to make a decision soon. Will what Rory said play a factor for him at all? We will see.
