Siddharth Anand praises Ranveer Singh's gritty transformation in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, calling the ensemble cast spellbinding. Releases Dec 5, 2025.
The storm has officially arrived. With the release of its explosive first look, Dhurandhar — the upcoming action thriller starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Uri filmmaker Aditya Dhar — has sent shockwaves across the internet. From its powerhouse ensemble cast to a blood-soaked, gritty visual universe, the film promises a cinematic spectacle unlike anything Indian audiences have seen before. And if early reactions are any indication, Dhurandhar is gearing up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year — earning high praise from filmmakers, fans, and now, director Siddharth Anand himself.
Filmmaker Siddharth Anand has heaped praise on the first look of Dhurandhar, calling it 'refreshing" and 'motivating." Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Pathaan director couldn't hold back his excitement: 'So refreshing. So motivating to see #Dhurandhar today. Such an amazing powerhouse ensemble. I'm spellbound. Each actor looking like a character from the film and not like the actor themselves." He added, 'This is no mean feat. Akshaye Khanna, Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and of course the dynamite Ranveer Singh – I'm seated for 5th Dec already! Full credit to the director Aditya Dhar. 👏"

Anand's admiration aligns with the growing buzz around the film's gritty and explosive first look. Directed by Uri filmmaker Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in a never-seen-before avatar — long hair, cigarette dangling from his lips, rage burning in his eyes, and a relentless ferocity in every frame. With bloodied knuckles and smoke-filled chaos, the first promo presents Ranveer not as a Bollywood star, but as an unrecognizable, raging beast. Violence, rebellion, and style merge seamlessly in this glimpse that has left fans stunned.
The teaser isn't just a showcase for Ranveer's transformation. The rest of the ensemble cast — Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal — is equally arresting. Arjun steals attention with his grizzled beard, golden tooth, and vintage metallic shades, delivering a look that feels straight out of a post-apocalyptic battlefield. Tamil actor Sara Arjun, the film's leading lady, is also introduced, hinting at a strong narrative presence amid the testosterone-fueled rage.
What elevates the teaser further is its intense, genre-defying soundtrack. Composed by Shashwat, the track features powerful vocals by Jasmine Sandlas and an electrifying verse by rap phenom Hanumankind. Known for his genre-blending artistry, Hanumankind injects rawness into the visuals. The background score pulses with urgency, amplifying the promo's visceral energy. 'An Inferno will rise. Uncover the true story of The Unknown Men," teases the caption, promising a story steeped in mystery and revolution.
Interestingly, the launch of the promo came with its own backstory. Director Aditya Dhar had planned a secret birthday gift for Ranveer Singh — the first look of Dhurandhar was to drop on July 6, as a surprise. But the plan didn't remain a secret for long. Sources reveal that Ranveer caught wind of it and directly asked Dhar if the rumors were true. Dhar tried dodging the question but eventually admitted it. He asked Ranveer to trust him and wait for the final cut. 'Ranveer knows something special is coming, a true cinematic treat, but he hasn't seen the final cut," a source shared. 'It's entirely Aditya's ingenious way of making this birthday not just memorable, but truly iconic for his superstar."
Written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is presented by Jio Studios and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar under the B62 Studios banner. The film promises to unravel the origin story of the 'unknown men" — cloaked in secrecy, fury, and grit. With its theatrical release slated for December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar has already ignited a storm of anticipation. If the first look is anything to go by, Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh are all set to deliver a cinematic inferno that might just redefine genre boundaries in Indian cinema.

India's cinema struggle: Falling screens and capital crisis demand gumption

The movie business in India is caught in a vicious cycle of falling screen count and, consequently, fewer films and no capital. Breaking out of it will require gumption Listen to This Article There are so many happy movie business stories, you just have to look for them. Take Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir Khan Productions decided not to do any OTT deal until the film, which released on June 20, had its full theatrical run. The shorter the window between a film's theatrical release and its appearance on OTT, the less likely it is that audiences will walk into the theatre to see a small film like this one, which is about the story, not about the star — a la Pushpa2 or Pathaan. Since he has been critical of the two- to

ZChum gets banned mid-subathon over alleged Twitch drops farming violation, loses 288 hours of VODs

In a surprising turn of events, popular Twitch streamer ZChum was hit with a sudden platform ban right in the middle of a highly anticipated week-long subathon. The ban, issued for 'rebroadcasting VODs to farm Twitch drops,' wiped out over 280 hours of footage and left fans both confused and furious. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now What Triggered the Ban? ZChum was running a Rust subathon with fellow streamer OmidLive, operating in shifts to keep the stream live around the clock. They played, slept, and streamed every moment, claiming they only went offline for basic hygiene and meals. Everything seemed within Twitch's terms, until it wasn't. On July 5, Twitch suddenly hit ZChum with a suspension citing 'rebroadcasting VODs to farm Twitch drops.' The accusation? Fake engagement. 'We Never Looped VODs' ZChum quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to challenge Twitch's decision. According to him, there were no loops, no fake streams, and definitely no shady tactics. 'We didn't loop any VODS, we have always been on camera….,' he wrote. He also revealed that their subathon began a full week before the Rust Twitch Drops campaign even started. The timing, he says, was purely coincidental. 288 Hours — Just Gone Possibly the most brutal consequence? A massive chunk of the stream's history—288 hours of VODs—was completely wiped. These weren't just casual streams. Viewers had donated thousands to keep the subathon going. And now, nearly all that content? Gone without a trace. Only one VOD, lasting 46 hours, remains visible on his channel. Fans and Creators React The ban sparked immediate backlash online. Many creators pointed out how unclear Twitch's automated moderation can be, especially during Twitch Drop campaigns when viewership spikes and strict rules kick in. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Several questioned how streamers are supposed to plan legitimate long-format content without accidentally triggering Twitch's moderation bots. Back Online, But Not Without Damage Though ZChum's Twitch account was eventually restored and the subathon resumed, the damage was already done. Lost content, lost trust, and a major disruption in one of his most ambitious events to date. Twitch, as usual, hasn't commented on the specifics—adding to growing frustrations about transparency and consistency in enforcement. The Bigger Question ZChum's case raises a much larger issue: Can creators safely run long-format, collaborative subathons during Twitch Drop events without risking a ban? Right now, the answer seems unclear—and streamers are watching closely.
