But many questioned Lewis and Jordan's decision to move to Bulgaria

A COUPLE have revealed that they ditched life in Bournemouth and moved to Bulgaria.
Rather than breaking the bank each month on a costly mortgage in the UK, Lewis and his wife Jordan purchased a huge property for £7,000.

Not only is the house massive, but it even came with 1.5 acres of land too.
Lewis explained that deciding whether to leave their life in Bournemouth was the "hardest decision' they ever had to make at the time.
But they put themselves out of their comfort zones and left their UK life behind for an off-grid village lifestyle in Bulgaria, which has recently been hailed as 'the perfect' family holiday destination.
Posting on social media, Lewis and Jordan - who have two children, Leo and Fae - gave their followers a close-up look at their Bulgarian property.

The couple bought the house online, without having viewed it in person.
And whilst the large plot is in need of some work, not only did they get a six room property for £7,000, but they also got a free extra house and a massive barn thrown in too.
As well as this, there's also space for two workshops and a shower room too.
Whilst the average house price in the UK varies massively by the region and the month, in August 2024, it was reported that the average house price in the UK was £292,924, up from £285,073 a year earlier, according to the latest HM Land Registry UK House Price Index.

Not only did the family luck out with their cheap property, which was £285,924 less than the average home in the UK, but Lewis explained that the family got 'pretty lucky with the views' and the massive garden too.
The content creator, who claimed the family have five years residency which they can renew when the time comes, lives on the derelict land, which is in the middle of nowhere.
We lived in one of the UK's most expensive seaside towns but house prices were mental - so we saved £293k by packing up and moving abroad
Showing off the rural property Lewis confirmed: 'Since we got here, we have been constantly working on it - although you might think that it still looks bad, it actually looked a lot worse.'
As well as a space for Lewis to store his tools, Jordan has her own craft room and there's even an outside play area for the kids.

The family also has a vegetable patch, as the father explained: 'The goal with the garden is to be able to grow lots of produce - grow tomatoes, cucumbers in bulk rather than in small quantities.'
Thrilled with their purchase, Lewis later shared: 'I personally think this house is worth way more than £7,000 - even if the market value was £7,000, because in the UK, good luck getting a house like this for £7,000.'
Moving house hacks
1. Declutter Before You Pack
Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.
2. Create an Inventory
Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.
3. Use Quality Packing Materials
Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.
4. Label Everything
Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.
5. Pack a 'First Day' Box
Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.
6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup
Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.
7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items
Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.
8. Colour-Code Your Boxes
Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.
Social media users react
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @frombournemouth2bulgaria, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 752,000 views.
Not only this, but it's also amassed 19,800 likes, 601 comments and 1,799 saves.

But social media users were left totally divided by the couple's home - while many thought it was 'beautiful,' others questioned their desire to live in Bulgaria.
One user gushed: 'Looking fabulous, good luck with your amazing new life.'
You could have easily done this in Italy or Spain. Bulgaria is a stretch
TikTok user
A second chimed in: 'Good for you. What an experience!'
Whilst someone else beamed: 'Very scenic and beautiful house.'

However, at the same time, one person said: 'I could buy a shed from B&Q for less and nicer.'
Another added: 'You could have easily done this in Italy or Spain. Bulgaria is a stretch.'
Whilst a third asked: 'Who wants to live in Bulgaria?'

Lewis Capaldi reveals an A-list singer ghosted him after 'super' night out

Lewis Capaldi may be a celebrity, but even he has been ghosted… by another celeb! (Picture: Matt Baron/Shutterstock) Lewis Capaldi may be one of the biggest names in pop right now, but he's still susceptible to ghosting like the rest of us. The Someone You Loved hitmaker recently returned to the music scene after an extended break to focus on his mental health. Lewis came back with a bang, performing to thousands upon thousands of adoring fans at this year's Glastonbury Festival, having just dropped his latest single, Survive, in which he bravely sings about his struggles. And while he's back on the press circuit, ahead of kicking off his UK tour next month, Lewis has been lifting the lid on some of his showbiz friendships. Alas, when it comes to US megastar Justin Bieber, after an epic night out together, Lewis was met with radio silence. Speaking to Chris Stark for Capital Breakfast, the 28-year-old revealed he and Justin, 31, exchanged numbers at a star-studded bash, but he did not hear from the Baby singer again. The singer confessed that he was ignored by pop star Justin Bieber after a night out (Picture: Capital Breakfast) Lewis sent the Biebs a text, hoping to strike up a friendship (Picture: Capital Breakfast) 'It was amazing,' Lewis said of the event. 'There was famous people, Charli XCX was there, Justin Bieber was there. 'Justin Bieber comes over and said, 'Hey, man, what's going on?' And I said, 'You don't remember my name?' And he said, 'Of course I do, you're Lewis Capaldi'.' 'Me and Bieber had this super night together, like really lovely evening together,' Lewis continued. 'We didn't spend the night together, but we hung out and I'm like, 'me and the Biebs are gonna be best pals, this is huge.' 'And he's like, 'Man, make sure I get your number tomorrow.' And I was like, 'Me and the Biebs, this is huge!'' Unfortunately, Lewis didn't quite get the lovey-dovey response he was hoping for after sending a message of adoration to JB. 'If you're out there, Bieber, wherever you are, text me back, please' (Picture: Matt Baron/Shutterstock) Justin aired him! (Picture: Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic) 'I text him maybe the most sucking-up-his-a**e text. I said, 'Just wanted to jump on, bro, last night was so special, great guy, so nice to hang out with you, such a dude.' 'He likes it and doesn't reply. So if you're out there, Bieber, wherever you are, text me back, please. Bieber aired me.' Lewis's recent comeback has been received extremely warmly by his fans, who sobbed as he, too, broke down on the Worthy Farm stage in 2023, unable to finish his set due to a Tourette's flare-up. At the time, he was still navigating living with the condition, apologising to the audience as they sang the lyrics for him. Ahead of his return this summer, the award-winning star was heavily rumoured to be the surprise performer, as cryptic signs promoting his new music appeared in various locations. But that doesn't mean Lewis wasn't nervous, as he recently confessed to 'convulsing' backstage at another secret gig before heading out for his first performance in two years. Lewis recently returned to music after a two-year break (Picture:) He was greeted by thousands of screaming fans as he played a surprise Glastonbury set (Picture: EPA) 'A few weeks prior to that show, we were playing in Chicago, and I had a very similar episode—probably even worse,' he told This Past Weekend with Theo Von. 'I couldn't come back and finish a song. I was backstage, convulsing and having this crazy panic attack. Way worse than what happened at Glastonbury (in 2023).' Fortunately, Lewis was able to power through his nerves and anxiety, which he has spoken openly about, to make it to Glasto, having admitted his breakdown in 2023 was probably 'the best thing that's ever happened' to him, as it meant he then had time to 'go and get help and fix [himself] for the next two years'. During his time out of the spotlight, Lewis has been going to therapy to learn how to manage his Tourette's, with which he was diagnosed in September 2022. He's also overhauled his physical health, having drastically reduced his alcohol intake and switched from antidepressants to antipsychotic medication, which he believes has made a difference. 'It's changed my life,' he said of his new meds. 'My anxiety levels are so low these days. I don't feel the stress.' Lewis broke down while on stage at Worthy Farm just two years ago due to a Tourette's flare-up (Picture: Oli Scarff/AFP via Getty Images) Lewis, who has therapy every week now, will hit the road on September 6 for his first tour show in Sheffield, concluding the sold-out run of limited shows in Dublin on September 30. After being forced to release more tickets due to astonishingly high demand, Lewis wrote on Instagram: 'honestly didn't expect this at all… genuinely had no idea what to expect after taking a break for so long so be seeing this tour sell out faster than any tour i've ever played is the most incredible surreal feeling ❤️ thank you to every single one of you who got a ticket and i'm very sorry to any of you who wanted to come and missed out this time.' He added: 'there won't be any other shows for now, want to make sure I don't push myself too far too soon. means more than ya know how many of you were waiting to get tickets this morning x' Got a story? I'm not gonna say much up here today because if I do, I think I'll probably start crying. "But I said it's just amazing to be here with you all, and I can't thank you all enough for coming out and coming and seeing me.' Making light of his 2023 performance, which he was forced to cut short, he said: "Second time's a charm on this one, everybody. "It's just a short set today, but I just wanted to come and finish what I couldn't finish the first time.' Festival-goers teared up and chanted 'Oh Lewis Capaldi' as he treated them to the surprise 35-minute set with hits like Before You Go and Hold Me While You Wait.

In Flight review: Katherine Kelly stars in a plot-laden thriller which feels like trying to walk up the down escalator

Watching new thriller In Flight this week (Channel 4, Tues-Thurs, 9pm) reminded me of walking up a down escalator. Sign up to our daily newsletter Sign up Thank you for signing up! Every time you thought you'd finally fought your way to the top, another step appeared from the plot room down below and the whole trudge started again. That's not to say you didn't appreciate the work-out this twisty-turny little thriller gave your faculties, it's just that at times it felt like you weren't getting anywhere. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Katherine Kelly stars as Jo Conran, a flight attendant with a messy personal life. The life of Jo Conran (Katherine Kelly) is up-ended when her son is convicted of killing a man in a bar fight in the new Channel 4 thriller In Flight (Picture: Channel 4/Peter Marley) Most protagonists in dramas have messy personal lives these days, it's just that Jo's seems a particular tangle. Having fallen out with her teenage son Sonny (Harry Cadby) over his relationship with his dad, and her ex-partner, she has to step up when his travelling overseas goes horrendously pear-shaped and he winds up in jail for killing a man in a Bulgarian bar fight. Then there's her affair with married customs officer Dom (Ashley Thomas) – he's gone back to his wife and kids, while she still pines after him. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Add in turning a blind eye to a flight crew colleague's layover, well, layovers and Jo has a lot on her plate. Jo (Katherine Kelly) is at the centre of a drug-smuggling operation in the new thriller In Flight (Picture: Channel 4/Peter Marley) But wait, here comes another one of those pesky escalator steps. She's approached by Cormac – who may have an attractively soft Northern Irish and a very well-tended beard, but is clearly a bad danger – who threatens Sonny's well-being in prison if Jo doesn't agree to smuggle drugs into the UK from her various airline destinations. All the while, you keep plodding your way up the escalator. Jo tells Dom about the smuggling, and he helps her get through bag checks, putting him and his family at risk, both from the law and the bad guys. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Ashley Thomas stars as customs officer Dom in the new Channel 4 thriller In Flight (Picture: Channel 4/Peter Marley) Cormac is threatened by unknown forces, leading you to wonder if he's just a patsy too. The man Sonny's accused of killing turns out to be the son of a notorious gang boss in Sofia - then there's a pregnant girlfriend, a suspicious wife and a light-fingered airport cleaner. Those steps keep coming and by the end of episode three you feel as frazzled as Jo heading through Bangkok customs with a bag of heroin taped to her stomach. But you wonder if those steps will ever stop revolving round and round and if you ever will reach the end of the climbing. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad And In Flight starts to teeter under the weight of the plot, with some sequences extended over what seems like weeks in the timeline – particularly when Sonny finds himself in hospital after a prison cell shivving – and others when apparently of weeks of cabin luggage drug-smuggling are compressed into a 30 second-long montage. Jo is clearly a woman of some resolve, and that steeliness only increases as she fights to protect her son as best she can. A moment when she comes over all John McClane, stripping to her vest before manhandling her son's hospital bed around dimly-lit corridors, is in danger of bringing the escalator to a grinding halt, but such is Kelly's sinewy performance that they get away with it. It has the air of a Channel 5 drama of the week, which would normally star Sheridan Smith and end in a welter of plot holes and silliness, but In Flight muddies the characters' motivations convincingly, never allowing you to think they're all wholly good or wholly rotten. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad In the end, all the characters are stuck trying to get up that down escalator, some will fall backwards, some might eventually got to the top and get away. As drug mule wrangler Cormac says: 'This is your life now. Make peace with it, it's the easiest way.' In the meantime, us viewers will keep putting our steps in, and hope it pays off when we finally get to the top.
