I can't believe this RTX 5060 gaming laptop is on sale for $400 off

Tom's Guide24-07-2025
Gaming laptops with RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 series are now available, which is awesome for those who want a great gaming experience without destroying their bank accounts. A recently released Alienware laptop is on sale for a steep discount, making it a machine worth considering.
Right now, the Alienware 16x Aurora is on sale for $1,399 at Best Buy. That's not only a $400 discount, it's also $250 cheaper than Dell's direct price of a similarly specced machine. If you're looking for a solid entry-level gaming laptop at a relatively affordable price, read on to see why the Alienware 16x Aurora might be for you. (For more deals, read our guide to the best back to school laptop sales).
The Alienware 16X Aurora is a brand-new laptop, but it's already been discounted by $400! It has everything you'd want in an entry-level gaming laptop, including a 16-inch 3K display, an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, an RTX 5060 GPU, 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. At this price, it's a gaming laptop we strongly recommend. By comparison, a similarly configured laptop with an Ultra 7 CPU goes for $1,449 at Dell.Price check: $1,649 @ Dell
The Alienware 16X Aurora has a design that's similar to the Alienware 16 Area-51 laptop that I recently reviewed. This laptop won't look out of place in your gaming den or at the office thanks to its elegant blue color and soft curves. Though it doesn't look like a gaming laptop at first glance, the RGB lighting on the keyboard is there to let you know this is a gaming notebook at its core.
While we're discussing the keyboard, you'll be happy to know that the 16X Aurora has number keys on the right-hand side, which is something you don't often see on laptops. You don't get the option for Cherry MX switches, like on the Area-51 laptop, but the keys here are plenty thick and deliver a nice typing experience.
Spec-wise, this Alienware 16X Aurora comes configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU, 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. Specs like these should allow you to comfortably play the best PC games at medium graphical settings and 1080p resolution without a hassle. That said, I suggest enabling DLSS4 to boost performance.
Lastly, this laptop features a 16-inch display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. You probably won't be able to play many games at the full 1600p resolution without impacting performance, but the 240Hz refresh rate (combined with DLSS 4) should ensure everything looks and runs great at 1080p.
This laptop was on sale during the Amazon Prime Day event, and I'm glad it's still discounted by $400. If you've had your eye on an RTX 50-series gaming laptop, this is about as good as it gets at this price point. Don't miss out!

No way! This 48-inch LG OLED just got slashed to $600 — and it's the perfect TV for back to school

Looking for a back to school TV on a budget? Specifically one that's adequately sized and doesn't compromise on picture quality even under $1,000? This LG OLED might be perfect for you. Right now, you can get the 48-inch LG B4 OLED TV for $599 at Best Buy. That's a major discount on a fantastic, budget OLED we loved from last year, especially if you're looking for exceptional picture quality on a smaller screen. (For more deals, check out or roundup of the best OLED TV deals right now). Looking for an incredible OLED picture without the high price? The LG B4 is the best deal you can find. It's not as bright as higher-end OLED TVs, but you still get to bask in the glory of those perfect contrasts. Inky black levels and ultra-wide viewing angles will have everything from movies to video games looking fantastic. Dedicated gamers will appreciate the B4's array of sought-after features, including four HDMI 2.1 inputs, support for 4K gaming at 120Hz, VRR and FreeSync.55" for $999 The LG B4 OLED is one of the best TVs you can buy on a budget. Even at its budget price, it still comes packed with tons of features that make it worthy for new students and recent graduates. Even better is that you can use the 48-inch model as a PC monitor, which is perfect for video editors and budding entrepreneurs. I got a first hand taste of how the LG B4 OLED stacks up against the competition last year and it proved to be the best value in the OLED camp. There will be some minor downsides, like a reflective screen, no HDR10+ support, and middling audio, but these pale in comparison to its positives. In my testing, I found it had excellent motion processing. You wouldn't expect that, given its budget pricing and smaller processer, but I was adequately blown away by how it handled fast-moving. Whether it be sports and action movies, the LG B4 did not disappoint. It's also built on the brilliance of LG's OLED panels. This means you can expect rich contrasts, perfect shadows, and inky blacks in darker movies like "The Batman" and "Interstellar." It also has a robust color output, both in terms of accuracy and coverage. I wrote a piece last year replacing my PC monitor with the LG C4 OLED, and that did not disappoint. You can do the same with the LG B4 and get an incredible boost in picture quality, making term papers and research an absolute breeze. But don't wait! The LG B4 is selling out fast, as it's 65-inch and 77-inch models are already unavailable.

Dell 15.6″ Laptop (32GB RAM, 1TB SSD) Is Nearly Free, This 4.7-Star PC Is 80% Off and Cheaper Than AirPods Max

Finding a laptop that feels at home on the kitchen table, in a classroom, and on the couch is not easy, especially when you want space to work without a bulky machine. The Dell 15.6″ Laptop Computer for Home and Student (32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD) hits a sweet spot. The screen is large enough for side by side windows, the keyboard invites real typing instead of pecking, and the whole package stays light enough to carry to the library or the local café. If your current computer groans every time you open a few tabs, this Dell feels like a reset button for daily work. See at Amazon Start with the display. A 15.6 inch panel gives your eyes a break during long reading sessions, and there is room to keep notes on one side while a lecture or spreadsheet sits on the other. Colors look pleasing for movie breaks, and text stays crisp enough that you are not constantly zooming in. The bezels are slim, which keeps the footprint reasonable in a backpack. Typing comfort matters more than people admit, and this keyboard understands the assignment. Keys have a steady feel, there is a number pad for quick data entry, and the roomy touchpad behaves when you scroll through long PDFs. A clear webcam sits above the screen for classes and meetings, and a simple privacy shutter lets you close the view when the call ends. Little touches like that make busy days calmer. Speed is where the upgrade really shows up. A modern processor and fast solid state storage help the system wake quickly, launch apps without drama, and juggle research tabs while streaming music in the background. Wi-Fi is strong enough to handle crowded homes and campus halls, and Bluetooth pairs easily with wireless earbuds or a mouse. Ports cover everyday life, including USB for older accessories, USB C for quicker transfers, HDMI for a larger monitor, and a headset jack for quiet study sessions. Battery life carries through a mix of classes and work blocks, and a quick top up during lunch gets you ready for the evening. The chassis feels sturdy without looking stuffy, and the finish resists fingerprints so it stays presentable after frequent travel. Slide it into a sleeve, grab a notebook, and you are out the door. If you need a reliable machine for school, remote work, and a little streaming after hours, this is an easy pick. The Dell 15.6″ Laptop Computer for Home and Student is still available for $530 at Amazon, a big drop from the regular $2,200 price. See at Amazon
