Kourtney Kardashian, 46, says her 'heart is exploding' over daughter Penelope Disick's new milestone
The 46-year-old former Keeping Up with the Kardashians personality shares Penelope, as well as Mason, 15, and Reign, 10, with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick.
She took to Instagram this week to highlight the special occasion and express her gratitude for motherhood.
'My daughter is 13 today,' she wrote over a photo of a floor covered in balloons. 'My heart is exploding with gratitude and love for her.'
Kardashian didn't specify exactly where they traveled, but scenic photos resembled Italy.
'I am so indescribably grateful for my sweet girl,' Kardashian wrote over a photo of a balcony view. 'She inspires me every day to be a better person.'
The mother-of-four, who also shares toddler Rocky with husband Travis Barker, also noted the trip was extra special for a sentimental reason.
'My parents spent their honeymoon here 47 years ago, so special to get to bring my daughter here,' she typed over another image featuring a riviera.
It comes one month after Kourtney used social media to share that she was 'crying bc my baby girl is done with 6th grade.'
Last year Penelope celebrated her birthday by going on a three-day getaway with her friends.
Taking to Instagram afterward, Kourtney posted photos from the soiree and wrote in the caption, '9 girls (and a baby), 2 moms (shoutout @natalie5382), 3 days of casual, perfectly slowed down beach days to celebrate my little lady.
'Toe rings, sound baths, night swims, painting bikini boxes, frozen bananas, mamma mia and lots of frank ocean forever.'
Penelope received warm birthday wishes from her family on Instagram, including her grandmother Kris Jenner.
Jenner uploaded a series of throwback photos of her granddaughter and added a heartfelt caption.
'My beautiful granddaughter Penelope is officially a teenager!! I can't believe you are 13 today!' she began the note.
The Kardashian-Jenner matriarch continued, 'P you are such a smart, strong, confident, kind, fun, and amazing girl… You're the best daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, cousin, and niece, and you make all of us so proud every single day.'
She gushed, 'You already have the most amazing sense of style and such a creative spirit. Getting to watch you grow into this amazing young lady has been one of the greatest blessings of my life and being your Grandmother is a gift I cherish every single day. The world is yours my sweet P, and I love you beyond words!!'
Kourtney and Travis' blended family also includes his three children with ex-wife Shanna Moakler: stepdaughter Atiana, 26, son Landon, 21, and daughter Alabama, 19.

Kelly understandably had plenty to celebrate as she sang, danced and skipped her way across the pitch in the aftermath to the full-time whistle. However some England fans joked that she was getting a little carried away when a hilarious team photo surfaced seemingly showing her taking a nibble at a teammate's arm. A celebratory selfie snapped by veteran star Lucy Bronze, and uploaded to the Lionesses X account, looked to show Kelly munching on the elbow of substitute goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse. The former Man City forward was the definition of a supersub, coming on for an injured Lauren James at the end of the first half and going on to set up Alessia Russo's equalising goal and netting the deciding spot kick. History-making Lionesses showed true English grit to win Euros and fully deserve the glory Kelly had similar influences from the bench in the Lionesses' dramatic semi-final and quarter-final victories over Italy and Sweden. Speaking after her confidently dispatched penalty, Kelly had no doubt she was going to score having had to rely on a rebounded miss for her winner against Italy earlier in the week. She told the BBC: "I was cool. I was composed. "And I knew I was going to hit the back of the net. I don't miss penalties twice". She added: "The celebrations are going to be crazy. I hope the whole of England comes out to support us and shows the love to all these girls, because they deserve it." The Lionesses made history by becoming the first England side across both the men's and women's game to win a major tournament on foreign soil. While boss Sarina Wiegman added a third consecutive Euros title to her trophy cabinet, her second with the Lionesses after initially tasting success as Holland boss in 2017.
