Baz Luhrmann, 62, looks worlds away from his former self as he displays wrinkle-free complexion and plump cheeks at 2025 Met Gala

Daily Mail06-05-2025

Baz Luhrmann has been at the centre of cosmetic surgery accusations for years.
And the award-winning filmmaker, 62, did little to dispel rumours as he attended the 2025 Met Gala in New York City on Monday.
The iconic Australian director looked very different from when he shot to fame in 1992 with his hit film Strictly Ballroom.
Lurhmann displayed a wrinkle-free complexion and very plump cheeks as he walked the red carpet with his wife Catherine Martin.
His visage appeared shiny, while his jawline seemed noticeably more pronounced than they did during his former years in the spotlight.
Earlier in his career, Lurhmann sported a rugged appearance with natural wrinkles.
The director made a style statement at the Met Gala with his wife Catherine.
The award-winning filmmaker channelled German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld as he arrived in a striped suit jacket, a white vest and matching coloured pants.
He completed his eccentric look with a colourful tie, round glasses and wore a pair of black dress shoes.
Baz was joined by his wife Catherine, who looked glamorous in a long black and navy gown which featured sheer sleeves.
She accessorised with a large green and white necklace, patterned shoes and large framed blue glasses.
The couple, who've been married for almost three decades, proved their relationship is stronger than ever as they put on a loved-up display on the red carpet.
Their red carpet appearance comes after it was recently reported that Baz and Catherine appear to be living separate lives.
Award-winning filmmaker Baz was spotted at Taylor Swift 's Sydney concert in February last year in the singer's star-studded box alongside her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce, Katy Perry and fellow filmmaker Taika Waititi and his wife Rita Ora.
The Romeo + Juliet director was seen dancing like no one was watching, his wife notably missing despite the fact they were living on Gold Coast at the time, a short one hour and 20 minute flight from Sydney.
The couple also recently moved into 'a shack' in the Miami beach area, downsizing from a larger home they were residing in after they relocated to the glitter strip in 2020 to make their sixth film Elvis.
In an interview with The Australian's Wish magazine, Martin spoke about doing long distance with her husband.
The Academy Award-winning Costume Designer said the pair speak regularly on the phone when he is in New York and she stays at their seaside Gold Coast shack.
Martin said she was enjoying the 'work/life balance' on the Gold Coast, where she goes for daily long morning walks on the beach and classes at her local Pilates studio.
'I called Baz this morning, I was walking on the way to Pilates and he was marvelling at the weather, because he's in New York,' she said in the interview at the time.
Meanwhile, Baz was forced to put split rumours to rest after fans noted eerie similarities with Aussie actor Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness' failed marriage.
The director confirmed the pair were still very much in love.
Baz and Martin have been married for 28 years and just saw their own children Lilly, 20, and William, 18, move out of home.

Ginny and Georgia fans fume at Netflix as awkward age leap 'ruins' new series

Fan favourite show Ginny and Georgia has returned to Netflix for an all new series which sees more dramatic storylines than ever but not all viewers are happy with the new episodes Ginny and Georgia fans have all said the same thing about brother's age leap in new series. The show has returned to Netflix for its third series, which viewers have waited two years for. Season three picks up just hours on from season two's finale - but not everyone looks the same. Many have pointed out that Ginny's brother Austin has grown up a lot since the last season. Fans have noticed that the actor who plays Austin looks a lot older than nine-years-old which is what he is meant to be in the show. ‌ Actor Diesel La Torraca who plays Austin is actually 14-year-old in real life so is five years older than the character he is playing. Many took to social media to point out the ridiculous age gap thanks to the huge break between filming the two series. ‌ The show has not aired for two years but has picked up where it left off in season two meaning there should be no age change in the character. Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "I fear ginny and georgia is going to have to recast the little brother because this is deeply unserious." As a second said: " #ginnyandgeorgiaS3 know they wrong for having this 14 year old boy play his 9 year old character. They let too much time pass in between filming and it's p***ing me off." "It's so ridiculous cause austin being so young made georgia's reckless choices hit harder. Now he looks the same age ginny's supposed to be playing and it just doesn't give the same effect," a fan pointed out. As a fourth added: "Netflix should stop taking 2+ years between seasons because wdym these two scenes are supposed to be only a few months apart? #ginnyandgeorgia." ‌ Diesel took to his own TikTok page back in May and shared a video of himself which he captioned: "My tryna convince people that Austin is still 9." The Australian-American actor has acted in several roles already despite just being in his teens which include in The Secrets She Keeps, Lambs of God, La Brea and Little Monsters. Actress Antonia Gentry who plays the main character of Ginny commented on how quickly the actor who plays her little brother has grown up. When season 3 filming began in 2024 she shared a side-by-side photo of herself and Diesel after filming season 1 compared with now which showed how much he had grown. ‌ He was originally much shorter than the actress and now he towers above her. Ginny and Georgia first arrived on Netflix back in 2021 and quickly became a fan-loves show. It is now in its third series and has got even more dramatic than before. Series two left off with a murder which mum-of-two Georgia is now being accused of, despite it actually being her son who committed the crime.

Action! Derrick Henry can parlay a 2,000-yard rushing season into a movie cameo with Adam Sandler

'King Henry' finally has the attention of 'The Waterboy.' Baltimore Ravens star running back Derrick Henry has an offer from Adam Sandler, his favorite actor, to be cast in a movie if the five-time Pro Bowl selection rushes for 2,000 yards this season. The offer grew out of Henry's appearance on radio personality Dan Patrick 's show this week to discuss his $30 million, two-year contract extension. Patrick told Henry he would get him in a Sandler movie if he made NFL history with a second 2,000-yard season. Two days later, Sandler made the offer himself in a video shown to Henry on the practice field. 'That's my dawg,' a wide-smiling Henry said while watching the video. Sandler, star of 'Happy Gilmore' and the remake of 'The Longest Yard' along with 'The Waterboy,' said he was in a hotel room while filming his greeting for Henry. At one point, Sandler turned the camera to show his bulldog. 'Two thousand yards-plus this year not only gets you in a movie, but we'll have a nice dinner together and talk about Dan Patrick's facial hair and how hard it is for him to grow it,' Sandler joked in a video posted Friday. 'I love ya and keep it up.' Sandler came up during Patrick's interview with Henry because Patrick was hearing a hoodie for the soon-to-be-released 'Happy Gilmore 2.' Sandler had given Patrick the hoodie. 'Can you do me a favor?' Henry asked Patrick. 'If you ever see him again, tell him I'm a really big fan and would really love to meet him one day.' Patrick left Sandler a voice message — and Sandler responded. 'Dan you're a real one!' Henry later wrote on social media. Henry rushed for 2,027 yards with Tennessee in 2020, when he was an All-Pro and the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year in the fifth of his eight seasons with the Titans. Henry nearly did it again as a 30-year-old in a resurgence with the Ravens last season, when he ran for 1,921 yards. Saquon Barkley of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles led the NFL with 2,005 yards. ___
