When the Chicago P.D.'s season 12 finale aired, many may not have expected to witness a tragic death. The person who died from the show was none other than Charlie Reid. For those who did not get a chance to see how he met his demise, read on to know about it.
In the episode, it was not the Intelligence Unit or Hank Voight who directly killed Reid. The Killer was Renny Otero, who was the son of Jesus Otero, a drug smuggler. If you remember, Jesus was killed by Reid's hitman previously, in an episode named Open Casket.
In the finale, when the officers, including Reid, gathered outside the court for a preliminary disciplinary hearing for Intelligence, as revenge for his father's death, Renny assassinates Reid. While he dies, Reid tells Voight, 'You're worse than me.'
Later, Nina Chapman explains that Voight may not have pulled the trigger, but he did have a hand in ensuring that Reid died. Voight's lack of denial confirmed Chapman's suspicion, which also ended the potential romance that could have unfolded between the two as ADA disapproved of his actions.
In the conclusion, Voight was only making sure that a dangerous, compromised figure high up in the CPD could no longer have a hand in controlling the streets of Chicago. The investigation into Intelligence was not carried forward. The unit was saved, and Kim Burgess, along with Torres, got their jobs back.

CID introduces AI-based biometric data collection unit
Pune: The state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) introduced an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based data measurement system on Wednesday at the Pashan headquarters of Pune rural police selected for the pilot project. The centre will take photographs of arrested persons from 12 different angles, fingerprints, iris scans, and other features. "It will collect samples for DNA fingerprints depending on the nature of crime," Ramanand said. The data will be stored on NIC's cloud server and available across India on the Crime and Criminal Tracking System. If a person is arrested, his or her entire data will be recorded. This will help police to track down the suspects in the crime with ease by just feeding the modus operandi of the suspects of a particular type of crime. "The AI will automatically match the features of the suspects even if they change their looks or alter their hairstyle or weight. He or she will be identified," he said. In the next few days, the system will be introduced in Pune city and Pimpri Chinchwad. The data of an arrested or convicted person will remain uploaded on the cloud server for the next 75 years.

'With the intervention of the international community — and I would like to mention particularly the role played by the US President Donald Trump and his team led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio — we did manage to achieve a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. This is a welcome first step, but it's only a first step,' Bhutto-Zardari said. Jaipur/Jaisalmer: A Jaipur court on Tuesday sent Shakur Khan, an assistant administrative officer in the employment department in Jaisalmer, to seven days' police remand after intelligence agencies arrested him for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Khan was picked up from his Mangliyon Ki Dhani village on May 28 and formally arrested on Monday evening following multiple rounds of interrogation at the Intelligence Bureau headquarters in Jaipur. According to the prosecution, WhatsApp chats, frequent communication with Pakistan-based individuals, and multiple unauthorised visits to the country without informing the department pointed to his involvement in espionage. Khan, who has been booked under Official Secrets Act, 1923, was produced before a local court in Jaipur. Prosecution officer Sudesh Kumar Sattawan said: "We sought 10-day remand, arguing that he made unauthorised visits to Pakistan and there was evidence of his contact with ISI. Further interrogation is needed to gather more evidence and uncover any spy network he may have been linked to within India."
