
Smart glasses can remember names of people you meet, only for $299
ALBAWABA - If you can't remember people's names, well, this is not an issue anymore; new, smart glasses will solve the problem and save the names of people you meet.
Singapore-based startup Brilliant Labs has announced a new version of its open-source Frame smart glasses, which were first released early last year, with smart features.
The new smart glasses, called Halo, are priced at $299, which is closer in price to Meta's basic Ray-Ban glasses.
For those with memory or vision impairments, Halo glasses will use Brilliant Labs' new Narrative system, which uses data collected from the camera, microphones, and user interactions to create a personalized knowledge base for each user.

Ministry of Digital Economy Completes Development of Digital Skills Curricula for All School Grades - Jordan News
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship announced the completion of the development of new digital skills curricula for all school grades from first to twelfth, as part of the 'Youth, Technology, and Jobs' project. This initiative is led by the ministry in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the National Center for Curriculum Development, and in collaboration with a consortium of local companies headed by Alealam Al-Istithmar for Development and Technology. اضافة اعلان This achievement marks a significant step forward in advancing digital transformation in education and enhancing students' capacities to meet the demands of the future job market. The new curricula were designed under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education and the National Center for Curriculum Development. The development process was based on the National Framework for Computer and Digital Skills, aligned with global standards, international best practices, and comprehensive reviews of national documents and existing Jordanian curricula. It also drew on the digital labor market supply and demand gap study launched by the Ministry of Digital Economy in 2022. The process included the creation of integrated digital curricula for grades 7 through 12 and modern educational activity books for grades 1 through 6. These curricula were implemented in grades 7, 9, and 11 during the 2024/2025 academic year and are scheduled to be introduced in grades 8, 10, and 12 starting in the 2025/2026 academic year. The new curricula cover eight key areas that form the foundation of students' digital skill development: Computing Systems Impacts of Computing Networks and the Internet Algorithms Data Analysis Internet of Things (IoT) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cybersecurity The Ministry of Digital Economy emphasized that this milestone is a core part of implementing the Economic Modernization Vision and reflects its commitment to equipping students with essential digital skills for the future, while reinforcing Jordan's position as a regional hub for digital education. The ministry also noted that this development is part of broader efforts to support digital transformation in the educational environment. This includes the rollout and activation of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in schools, and efforts to enhance digital infrastructure so students can easily and effectively access digital learning tools, including devices and internet connectivity.

Graduation of a new cohort from the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program' Orange Jordan, in the presence of H.E. Samira Al-Zoubi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, celebrated the graduation of the sixth cohort from the Coding Academy at the Orange Digital Center in Amman. اضافة اعلان This also marks the second cohort of the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program' scholarship. The program is funded by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship under the 'Youth, Technology, and Jobs' Project (YTJ), and is implemented by the Digital Skills Association (Digiskills). A total of 49 female and male students completed this cohort, following the graduation of the first cohort earlier this year, bringing the total number of program graduates in Amman to 100 youth, of whom 33% are women. For four months and 640 training hours, the participants were equipped with both technical and life skills to enhance their readiness for the job market. The program has proven its effectiveness, achieving a 100% graduation rate with no dropouts. To date, around 50% of the students have secured employment opportunities, a percentage that is expected to increase in the coming months. Additionally, the graduates supported 25 startups by developing websites for them during their practical training. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, H.E. Samira Al-Zoubi, expressed the Ministry's pride in funding and supporting the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program' scholarship under the 'Youth, Technology, and Jobs' Project. She emphasized that this reflects the Ministry's commitment to empowering Jordanian youth with digital skills that enable them to enter the job market with confidence and competence. She added that such programs represent genuine career pathways rather than just training stops, as the Ministry continues to collaborate with its partners to create employment opportunities, support entrepreneurs, and foster innovation that contributes to building a competitive digital economy led by Jordanian youth. From her side, Amira Qarqash, Digital Education and Skills Development Manager at YTJ, emphasized that investing in youth is an investment in Jordan's future, and that empowering them with digital skills is key to unlocking employment opportunities and driving economic growth. This program stands as a living example of effective collaboration between the public and private sectors and civil society institutions to build a capable generation ready to lead change. The Chief Corporate Communication & Sustainability Officer at Orange Jordan, Eng. Rana Al-Dababneh expressed her pride in the partnership with the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program' scholarship and its achievements, praising the 'Champions of Change' from this cohort and those before them. She added that Orange Jordan, through the Coding Academy at the Orange Digital Center, continues to empower Jordanian youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to build their future. She highlighted that since its launch, the Coding Academy has graduated over 1,000 students, with more than 80% of them joining the job market, confirming the effectiveness of the training model, which integrates technical skills, projects, language, life skills, and practical training.
