Haryana to get Mateshwari Ahilyabai Holkar museum: Saini
Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday announced that the state government will build a Mateshwari Ahilyabai Holkar museum on two acres of land.
He said that with the museum, the young generation can get inspired by her life and work.
Saini was addressing a gathering as the chief guest in the state-level function organised on the occasion of 300th birth anniversary of Mateshwari Ahilyabai Holkar at Anaj Mandi in Pipli, Kurukshetra.
During his address, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving towards becoming a developed nation and all must follow the footsteps of Ahilyabai and provide justice, development and preserve culture like her.
He also announced that with the consent of the Pal Gadaria community, an entrance gate will be built in the name of Mateshwari Ahilyabai Holkar in any one village or city.
He also announced to give an amount of ₹31 lakh from his voluntary fund to the Pal Gadaria Samaj Dharamshala Kurukshetra.
Along with this, he has also announced to give ₹11 lakh each on behalf of cabinet minister Krishna Lal Panwar, Mahipal Dhanda, Ranbir Gangawa, Shyam Singh Rana, MP Naveen Jindal and Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra.
Saini said that saints, gurus and great men are not only our invaluable heritage but also our inspiration and it is the responsibility of all of us to preserve and protect their heritage.
'Therefore, the message of saints and great men is being conveyed to the people by the state government under the Sant-Mahapurusha Vichar Samman and Prasar Yojana. This function has also been organised under this scheme,' he added.
He said that Mateshwari Ahilyabai ji was born on May 31, 1725 in Maharashtra.
'In an era when women were deprived of governance, education and freedom, Ahilyabai ji broke the chains of society and emerged as a divine example of women power. Ahilyabai has proved that when a woman is steadfast on the path of her duty, she changes the era,' he added.
The chief minister also highlighted how the BJP governments at the centre and in state are working to uplift the downtrodden.
BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli, education minister Mahipal Dhanda, panchayat minister Krishan Lal Panwar, PWD minister Ranbir Gangwa, agriculture minister Shyam Singh Rana, several MPs and MLAs were present at the occasion.

The Congress on Monday hit back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his recent comments accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of facilitating infiltration from Bangladesh with senior party leader Rashid Alvi underlining that securing national borders is the responsibility of the Central government, not the state. During his two-day visit to West Bengal, Amit Shah, while addressing the Vijay Sankalp Karyakarta Sammelan, alleged that Mamata Banerjee had allowed unchecked infiltration for political gain. "Mamata Banerjee has opened the nation's borders for Bangladeshis. She is allowing infiltration. Only a Lotus government can stop this," he claimed. He further accused Banerjee of refusing to provide land for fencing at the border, suggesting she was doing so to maintain her vote bank and pave the way for her nephew to succeed her as Chief Minister. Responding to Amit Shah's statements, Rashid Alvi told IANS: "Is Mamata Banerjee responsible for guarding India's borders, or is that the duty of the Indian government? Who is in charge of border security? If people are entering India illegally, the blame lies with the Central government, not Mamata. She doesn't control border patrols - (PM) Modi's government does.' Addressing the government's recent claims after Operation Sindoor, which reportedly led to the deportation of 2,000 Bangladeshis, Alvi said the figure was insignificant in comparison to the overall scale of the issue. "If lakhs of people have entered from Myanmar and Bangladesh as claimed, sending back just 2,000 is meaningless. The Supreme Court has clearly stated that India is not a dharamshala where anyone can enter and settle. All those who have entered illegally must be sent back. Even the US deports illegal immigrants, though often in handcuffs - we should do it respectfully." On being asked about Congress MPs like Shashi Tharoor and Salman Khurshid, who praised the Modi government during recent international delegations, he said: "Those who are part of official delegations represent India, not any party. But if any Congress leader praises the BJP at the cost of the Congress, action must be taken. These actions weaken the party. As the saying goes, the house is set on fire by its own lamp. Some of our leaders are destroying Congress from within. And BJP doesn't respect those who switch parties - most of them are sidelined after joining." Commenting specifically on Khurshid's praise of the PM Modi government's handling of Article 370, Alvi said: "I strongly disagree with him. He may have joined the delegation to clarify India's stand to the world, but his statements suggest he is endorsing the BJP's policies. Since the removal of Article 370, terrorism has risen in Kashmir. Pulwama happened. Pahalgam has turned into a hotspot. We even had to conduct strikes inside Pakistan. What development has taken place since the abrogation? How many five-star hotels or factories have been built? Development hasn't improved, nor has the situation on the ground. If Article 370 had to be removed, it should have been done with the confidence and participation of the Kashmiri people - not by jailing them." Asked whether the Congress should take disciplinary action against such leaders, Alvi said: "That's for the Congress high command to decide. I don't agree with their statements, but I'm not personally demanding action. If their remarks go against the party's policies, appropriate decisions should be made." On Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's criticism of Prime Minister Modi's speeches after Operation Sindoor, Alvi said: "Sindoor runs in PM Modi's veins? That's an unfortunate choice of words. At a time when the entire country stood united behind him, he chose to extract political mileage from it. PM Modi should avoid such rhetoric. Whether it's PM Modi or Amit Shah, both are trying to gain politically from military actions. They're misleading the country." On Rahul Gandhi's query about aircraft losses during the operation, Alvi said the government must come clean. 'Every citizen has the right to know. If aircraft were lost or soldiers died, the public deserves transparency. Even the Army chief has given details to agencies. Why is the government hiding it? We missed the opportunity to hold Pakistan accountable. PM Modi had claimed we'd kill terrorists in their homes - then why is Masood Azhar still alive? A few airstrikes don't change anything; we must eliminate the root of terrorism." On the arrest of influencer and law student Sharmishta Panoli, who was sent to 14 days' judicial custody over a controversial video allegedly hurting religious sentiments, Alvi said: "Over the last 11 years, the BJP and RSS have created an atmosphere targeting Islam. India has always respected all religions. Remember the international backlash over a BJP spokesperson's remark. In this context, action against those inciting communal disharmony is justified."

BRS not have alliance with any party, says Harish Rao
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will not have an alliance with any party and will contest the elections on its own, senior party leader and MLA T. Harish Rao announced on Monday. He exuded confidence that the BRS will come back to power in Telangana with 100 seats. In his speech at the Telangana Formation Day celebrations at BRS headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao said: "Some people are saying that the BRS will join hands with the BJP. The BRS will not have an alliance with any party. It will come to power on its own." Harish Rao was apparently referring to BRS MLA K. Kavitha's recent claim that attempts are being made in the BRS to have an alliance with the BJP. Kavitha, who is the daughter of BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), last week said that a proposal was made to merge the BRS with the BJP when she was in jail in the Delhi liquor policy case and that she strongly opposed it. KCR, Kavitha's brother and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) or her cousin Harish Rao have not reacted to sensational allegations, which came close on the heels of her confidential letter to KCR getting leaked. Apparently targeting her brother, Kavitha also made it clear that she will work under the leadership of only KCR. Harish Rao said KCR recently made it clear that whenever elections are held, the BRS is sure to win 100 seats. The former Irrigation Minister said that the BJP leaders were not opening their mouths on the injustice to Telangana. He asked them why they were silent on the Godavari-Banakacherla link project being taken up by Andhra Pradesh. If the BJP MPs have any integrity, they should immediately block the project, he said. He also stated that BRS will approach the Supreme Court to stop the project to protect the state's interests. Only the BRS can protect the interests of Telangana, he said. Harish Rao warned the officers harassing BRS cadres that their names will be written in the 'Red Book' and they will be taught a lesson once the BRS returns to power. He reiterated that the Congress government brought shame to Telangana with its inefficiency in conducting the Miss World beauty pageant. Referring to the allegations of inappropriate behaviour during the event by Miss England, the BRS leader demanded that the CCTV footage be made public. Harish Rao remarked that while KCR was number one in development, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is number one in speaking lies. Disputing the claim of the Chief Minister that women were provided interest-free loans to the tune of Rs 21,000 crore, the former minister said that if the Chief Minister proves this, he will resign.

BJP MLC appears before police in Kalaburagi
BJP MLC N. Ravikumar appeared before the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Kalaburagi on Monday in connection with an FIR registered against him for his recent offensive remarks against Deputy Commissioner B. Fauzia Tarrannum. During the Kalaburagi Chalo rally in the city on May 24, Mr. Ravikumar made derogatory remarks against the IAS officer stating that 'she might have come from Pakistan' and his remarks created an outrage. Following his comments, an FIR was lodged at the Station Bazaar Police Station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with charges under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act based on a complaint filed by Kalaburagi Samudaya president Dattatraya Ikkalaki. On May 29, the High Court of Karnataka took suo motu cognisance and directed Mr. Ravikumar to tender an apology to Ms. Tarannum and also ordered him to appear before the Kalaburagi Police on Monday in connection with the case. However, Mr. Ravikumar who made himself available for investigation clarified that the remarks were unintentional and a slip of tongue. BJP leaders, including MLC Shashil G. Namoshi, the former district BJP president (rural unit) Shivaraj Patil Raddewadagi, and party workers accompanied Mr. Ravikumar to the Assistant Commissioner of Police's office. However, the police, who had set up barricades, stopped them from entering the police station.
