Ohio State football lands graduate transfer quarterback out of portal
The Ohio State football team and head coach Ryan Day now appear to be all set at the quarterback position.
The Buckeyes got a commitment from Houston Christian graduate transfer Eli Brickhandler on Tuesday according to a social media post on his "X" account. It gives OSU four quarterbacks on the roster now, joining presumptive starter Julian Sayin, Lincoln Kienholz, and freshman Tavien St. Clair.
Though Brickhandler is a graduate transfer, he still has two years of eligibility left. The Stockton, California native started his career at North Carolina A&T in the Raleigh area, but transferred to Houston Christian after two seasons. He wasn't particularly adept at throwing the ball, completing just 38-of-77 (49.4%) of his passes in a two-quarterback system last year. Either way, he'll add some veteran depth to the position group, which is never a bad thing, and you can bank on Day seeing something in him if he went after him to round out the room.
Ohio State's football roster is almost assuredly all set at this point and it'll be just a couple of months before fall camp begins. To say that it can't get here soon enough would be an understatement.

Future Nebraska quarterback Trae Taylor recruiting top tight end Ahmad Hudson

Future Nebraska quarterback Trae Taylor recruiting top tight end Ahmad Hudson A Nebraska quarterback commit is developing a relationship and actively peer recruiting the top tight end in the class of 2027. Ahmad Hudson teamed up with future Husker Trae Taylor at the Nebraska-sponsored 7 on 7 tournament, Battle of the Boneyard. Hudson measures in at 6 feet 7 inches, 220 pounds, and is the No. 1-ranked tight end in the 2027 class. As a sophomore, he caught 41 passes for 718 yards and six touchdowns. He's also an accomplished basketball player, averaging 21 points and 14 rebounds per game last season. Taylor is the third overall quarterback in the 2027 class and the third overall player in his class from the state of Illinois, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Last season, he threw for 3,061 yards, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, per statistics from MaxPreps. He also carried the football 41 times for 342 yards and four touchdowns. This isn't the first time Taylor has connected with Hudson. Since committing to Nebraska, the future quarterback has been active in his recruitment of other top players in the 2027 recruiting class. It's good to see a future Husker taking active steps to load the class with as much talent as possible. 2026 4-star CB and Texas A&M commit has canceled his future visits

2026 4-star CB and Texas A&M commit has canceled his future visits Texas A&M's recruiting success under coach Mike Elko, who is entering his second season at the helm, has already matched that of former head coach Jimbo Fisher, except for the historic 2022 recruiting class, which, despite its struggles, remains a historical achievement. In the 2026 cycle, Elko has landed 12 commitments, including four-star cornerback Camren Hamiel, who is the highest-rated prospect in Arizona. Landing Hamiel, whose instincts and decisive play makes him a candidate for early playing time as soon as his freshman season, is completely locked in with the program, as Texas A&M recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway (AggiesToday) reported that Hamiel has cancelled his future visits to competing programs, and has moved up his official visit to College Station to Friday, June 12. This has become a trend for several Texas A&M commits, as the news that Mike Elko will call defensive plays and 2025 and beyond is good news for players like Hamiel who possess elite athleticism and versatility, while playing with a high motor at a position that has been an issue for the Aggies over the past two seasons. This summer is critical for Elko and his staff to lock down a majority of the 12 commits in the cycle, and they are looking to flip five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys, who is currently taking an official visit with the Aggies this weekend. Hamiel's dedication to the program is a great sign, and Elko deserves credit for building a foundation that will (hopefully) result in on-field results for years to come. Recapping offers, happenings at Notre Dame's Irish Invasion camp

Recapping offers, happenings at Notre Dame's Irish Invasion camp It was a big day for Notre Dame football, as they welcomed in multiple top-end prospects for its Irish Invasion camp. Earlier in the day, it was Texas running back Wayne Shanks Jr. earning an offer, but that wasn't the only one send out following the event. Multiple more players were given scholarships by Notre Dame, and a good part of that was due to the boss, head coach Marcus Freeman being there. That's what separates this era of Irish football from others, the fact that this coaching staff is all-in on the program, and it has shown on the recruiting trail. It wasn't just them either, star running back Jeremiyah Love made an appearance as well. Find out below all the other prospects to earn an offer from Notre Dame during Irish Invasion. (Note: All recruits rankings are from the 247Sports Composite.) 2028 Linebacker Tahj Gray The 6-foot, 2-inch and 200-pound New Jersey native must have shown out during the camp, as the Irish are one of the first major schools to send out an offer after Ohio State and Penn State to the currently unranked prospect. Gray has the perfect size for a middle linebacker, and would look great in the Blue and Gold. 2028 Edge Jackson Vaughn Bergen Catholic has been good to Notre Dame, even though one of its former stars in Steve Angeli is no longer with the program. That didn't matter with the offer out to Vaughn, a 6-foot, 3-inch and 220-pound pass rusher. While he's not ranked at the moment, he has over 30-offers as he heads into his sophomore year. 2028 Cornerback Phoenix Evans Another New Jersey prospect getting an Irish offer, Evans is a bit on the smaller side at 5-foot, 9-inches and 160-pounds. That didn't seem to matter after his performance on Friday, showing that his size isn't going to stop him from being a high-level player. Evans also is unranked, but has over 25-offers, and should be soon. 2028 Defensive end Asher Ghioto Notre Dame has put extra focus on Florida prospects, and Ghioto is the latest from the state to earn an offer. At 6-foot, 5-inches and 240-pounds, he's got a very projectable body that could fill out even more by the time he arrives at a college campus. It's going to be tough to get him to leave his home state, but the Irish have shown that isn't an issue for them. 2027 Edge Chaz Gray It was a big day for New Jersey prospects, as Gray was added to the list that Notre Dame offered. At 6-foot, 4-inches and 225-pounds, he's the long, athletic and fast prospect that the Irish look for in an edge rusher. Gray is ranked as the No. 401 overall player in his class. 2028 Linebacker Allen Kennett Unranked at the moment, the 6-foot, 1-inch and 215-pound Californian did what he needed to earn a Notre Dame offer. He's a bit of unknown at the moment, but don't let that fool you. If Kennett is good enough to earn a scholarship, then he can play at this level.
