The Champions League winners want to earn a fee for the shotstopper after failing to come to an agreement over a new deal and signing Lucas Chevalier as a replacement. It is said Donnarumma could be available for as little as £26m. Casemiro transfer stance Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is happy at Old Trafford, despite persistent talk of a move away from the club over the last 12 months. The Brazilian midfielder has produced inconsistent form in the Premier League in recent seasons but started under Ruben Amorim in the first match of the season against Arsenal. Casemiro has another 12 months on his contract, and has seen links to Saudi Arabia, but appears content to spend another year with the club. "I am very happy here," he said "My family is happy here. I enjoy every day at Carrington and at Old Trafford. If people talk from the outside, that's fine, it doesn't interest me. I just want to focus on winning." HMRC update after customer surprised to receive request message
HMRC warned against taking certain actions if you get the message HMRC has provided guidance after a customer received a message they were not expecting. The customer contacted the group as they had received a text message with an access code. Yet, they claimed they had not tried to access their account. HMRC responded to say there may be an innocent reason for the message. The group said: "It may just be somebody that has entered the wrong digits." Nevertheless, the tax authority did issue some further guidance to protect the person's account security. The group warned: "For security reasons, avoid clicking on any links or responding. "You can log into your account separately and check your account, review security settings and change password for added security if you wish." You can access many HMRC services with a personal tax account. Here you can see your income tax estimate, check your state pension entitlement and submit and manage a self assessment tax return. The account will also show you your National Insurance number and you can also view your simple assessment tax bill if you have one. To set up an account, you will first need to create a Government Gateway ID on the website. Another way you can monitor your tax affairs is through the HMRC app. You can use the service to see your tax code, as well as details of your state pension forecast, income and benefits payments. You can also see an estimate of the tax you need to pay and you can make a self assessment payment or a simple assessment payment. The app can also be used to check if you can pay to cover any gaps in your National Insurance record.

Clubs must wait until October for confirmation of 2026 Super League status
The current top 12 clubs voted last month to expand the competition to 14 from 2026, subject to enough applicants meeting tight financial and sustainability criteria. The top 12 will still be determined by existing IMG grading scores, with the possible additional clubs picked by a seven-strong panel of experts. Clubs – including those who face the prospect of dropping out of the existing top 12 in the IMG table – must express their intention to apply by next Wednesday, with the composition of next season's Super League announced on October 16. Crisis-hit Salford, who are battling to complete their season after forfeiting last week's game against Wakefield, are expected to drop out of contention, effectively leaving three top-flight places up for grabs. The PA news agency understands that Bradford Bulls, who last played in Super League in 2014, are in pole position to replace Salford in the 12th spot, leaving Toulouse, York and London as front-runners for the remaining places. The panel, which will consider criteria additional to those already set out by IMG, specifically relating to financial status and sustainability going forward, will be chaired by RFL non-executive director Lord Caine. Caine said: 'I am honoured to have been asked to chair the panel to determine whether the Betfred Super League expands from 12 to 14 in 2026 and, if so, which clubs will take up the 13th and 14th positions in the competition. 'This panel consists of individuals with the considerable knowledge and expertise necessary to ensure that the process is both thorough and robust. 'All of our proceedings will be conducted on the basis of absolute fairness, rigorous impartiality between the applicants, total independence and, of necessity, complete confidentiality.' The seven-strong panel will also include two fellow non-executive RFL directors Abi Ekoku and Dermot Power, RFL chief executive Tony Sutton, interim head of legal Graeme Sarjeant, RL Commercial managing director Rhodri Jones and Super League (Europe) board member Peter Hutton. The composition of next season's Championship and League One competitions – which are expected to merge – is set to be confirmed later this week.
