Martin Hromkovic was born in Slovakia on May 27, 1982.
He's a former professional footballer who enjoyed a 17-year career as a defender.
Martin was picked up by FK Inter Bratislava, but spent most of his career at OFC Russell Gabcikovo.
He later transitioned into a career as a fitness and conditioning coach, gaining a master's degree from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia FTVS.UK.
The new job was partly responsible for kindling his romance with Belinda Bencic, which started in November 2018.
Their relationship was initially professional — Martin became Belinda's dedicated strength and conditioning coach.
As they spent more time together during training sessions in Slovakia, their relationship naturally developed into a romantic one.
In 2022, Belinda told Blick: 'It came a little unexpected, but it's an ideal situation. When I work on fitness in Slovakia, we can be together.
'As a tennis professional, relationships are so difficult. I do not see my best friend until half a year later.
'You never see another tennis player. A man waiting at home — no chance!

'Martin wants the best for me for my private life and sport. He often travels, I'm very grateful for his support!
'Fortunately, we can separate private and professional life well. When I work, I really see him as a coach. I hope it stays that way.
'For him, the job is done when I'm fit. Martin was an athlete himself, a footballer. So he understands well when I'm nervous or tense.'
Wedding
In November 2023, Martin proposed to Bencic during a romantic holiday in the Maldives.

Around the same time, Belinda announced she was pregnant on Instagram, writing: "Expecting our little miracle soon! We can't wait to meet you."
The two married without fanfare, with Belinda's manager Martin Bal Telling 20 Minuten: "Belinda and Martin got married in a civil ceremony during her pregnancy."
While the civil ceremony was kept private, they reportedly plan to hold a larger celebration with friends and family at some point in the future.
Family life
Their daughter, Bella, was born in April 2024.
Belinda is one of nine mothers to start in the Wimbledon 2025 ladies' draw.
On being what it feels like bringing not only her husband, but also baby Bella along, she said: 'Sometimes I feel even more relaxed with a different perspective, you know, playing the tournaments, maybe being more grateful that I'm able to play and to have these beautiful moments together.'
Speaking about her return to the Slam, Belinda told the Wimbledon website: "The locker rooms are so nice.
"I'm not in the members' locker room now, because I'm not seeded [in the] top 16 now, but they help create this special atmosphere before we play.
"They are so classic, clean, elegant.
"I love the flowers all around the Grounds... I love it all here."

Former F1 boss tells Lewis Hamilton to retire

Bernie Ecclestone has urged Lewis Hamilton to retire from Formula One, citing the driver 's recent struggles at Ferrari. Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, has failed to secure a podium finish in his first 14 races for Ferrari and recently finished 12th in Hungary. Ecclestone, the former F1 supremo, believes Hamilton is tired and should have retired 'a while ago', suggesting he would be 'cheating himself' by continuing. The 94-year-old also advised Hamilton to negotiate with Ferrari to have his £50m-a-year contract paid out in full if he were to step aside. Hamilton himself has expressed frustration, calling his performance 'useless' and hinting at 'background' issues at Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton told to QUIT F1 and demand £180m contract in full before ‘anything bad happens'

LEWIS HAMILTON has been told to quit F1 and demand his £180million Ferrari contract is paid in full. The seven-time world champion caused shockwaves at the Hungarian grand prix last weekend after admititng he was "absolutely useless". 2 2 Hamilton, 40, finished 12th in qualifying and called for Ferrari to "change driver" after the result. He was equally as despondent after finishing 12th in the grand prix, and now Bernie Ecclestone has told him to quit the sport. Ecclestone told the Daily Mail: "Lewis is very talented, was and probably still is. "But like a lot of leading sports personalities when they reach the top, there is only one way to go, and it's not a good direction. It's only down. "They get tired. Lewis is tired. He's been doing what he is doing forever. He needs a rest from it for good, a total reset to do something completely different. "He may not think it but he will soon get used to doing other stuff away from motor racing in retirement. I think he should have done it a while ago. "The guy is not a cheat. But he would be cheating himself if he goes on. He should stop now. "If I were looking after him I would negotiate with Ferrari immediately and say, 'If you have someone to replace Lewis, he'll step aside.'" Hamilton has not got off to the best start in his three-year contract with Ferrari, which is worth £60m a season. His team-mate Charles Leclerc qualified on pole in Hungary and has out qualified Hamilton ten times, with the Brit quicker on just two occasions. Toto Wolff defends F1 driver Lewis Hamilton after 'useless' comments He has also failed to podium in 14 attempts with his only success this season coming in China when he won the sprint race. Ecclestone shared concern for Hamtilon and advised him to retire to avoid the risk of racing. He continued: "I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to Lewis. "He's not fighting for a world championship and is at a stage of his life when it wouldn't be worth him spending two years laid up in bed with a broken back or anything else nasty. "He doesn't need to take the risk any longer. He's won seven world titles and that is quite enough."

The European Cup winner bringing women's football dream to Monaco

Women's football in France has always been an important marker point in Europe, mainly through Lyon's record-breaking Champions League success. The club have been pushed along domestically by Paris Saint-Germain but a shift is taking place, with Paris FC continuing to develop and Lens and Marseille promoted to the top division for the 2025-26 season. One place lacking a professional team in the women's pyramid is Monaco but that could change before long, and not necessarily through AS Monaco. Monaco United launch this season and although they will begin in the fifth tier, they are founded and coached by Marco Simone, a four-time Serie A winner and two-time Champions League winner as a player with Milan. 'I've coached men's teams around the world, starting here in Monaco with AS Monaco in 2011,' says Simone. 'I coached in Switzerland, Morocco, Thailand and France, but always men's teams. One year, I was studying and the only games I saw were women's games. I watched them in France, England, Germany, Spain and Italy, and I really enjoyed it. That led me to build this project.' Monaco United's creation was announced just under two months ago in a partnership with the Racing City Group, which was founded by Morris Pagniello and has a network of clubs. Simone, who won four Italy caps, became involved with the group in January when it partnered with AS Monaco's women's team. He had two spells as a player with the men's side before returning as the coach. 'I played here for five years, coached here, but the history of the place is incredible,' he says. 'The people think it is impossible to build another club because we are not a big country. It's not like London, where there are five or six teams in the top league alone – that's not possible here. 'The real target is the development of women's football, because when you see the top league here, you see Lyon, PSG, Montpellier, now Marseille too, the top clubs in France. But Monaco [United] is not in the top league, not the second league, not even the third league. I think it's not possible for Monaco to not be there one day. We are very far away because we start in the fifth division, but I do believe in a few years we can be in a professional league.' Open trials have allowed Simone to build a squad, and training and fixtures will take place at the Stade Didier Deschamps in Cap-d'Ail. Monaco United list the aim of also having a successful men's team and men's academy but describe women's football as being 'at the heart' of the club. 'It's important when you start to respect the time it will take, to arrive at the time one day to have a bigger budget, to think about professionalism, but the time we have for this project is very important,' Simone says. 'We are starting at zero … I know football isn't easy, but I know this team has the chance to become professional quicker than if this was the men's game, where the budgets and structures are much bigger. We don't have many pitches or stadiums in Monaco, the structures are not as simple, but we do have passion and enthusiasm, and we are ready for this.' On the squad, the 56-year-old says: 'We have 20 players. It's not been easy to scout. Some players we know locally, some through contacts, but through that and watching many, many videos, we have our squad.' As a player, Simone also won multiple domestic cups, two European Super Cups and a French First Division title in Monaco in 2000, as well as individual honours including the 1998 Ligue 1 player of the year and France Football's best foreign player in 1998 and 2000. That experience could be invaluable. Sign up to Moving the Goalposts No topic is too small or too big for us to cover as we deliver a twice-weekly roundup of the wonderful world of women's football after newsletter promotion 'Yes, but this is also my first experience of the women's game,' Simone says. 'I have the experience from my career. I played 10 years for AC Milan, I played for PSG, for Monaco, and I hope I can offer all my experience to the team, of how to win both games and leagues. I don't know everything about women's football but I hope my experience can help build the team. I'm positive, but I know the work is not simple.' He has wasted no time in utilising his status with some of his former clubs to arrange glamorous friendlies. On 27 August, Monaco United will face Milan, a club where Simone is in the Hall of Fame, in their first match and through the season he aims to give his squad a taste of top-level football in 'MUWFC challenge' fixtures fitted around the league matches. 'It's a big friendly game for us, the AC Milan game,' Simone says. 'We are the fifth division against AC Milan! For a new club, it's a big event, a big moment, but I want to give the visibility for the women's team. The league is not very strong, so we have arranged these friendlies against top European teams, and it will start with AC Milan … It's very special.'
