The $49 Kmart item you never knew you needed: 'High on rotation'

Daily Mail30-06-2025
A $49 jacket from Kmart has quickly become the fashion hero of winter, with shoppers across Australia running to nab one for the cold snap.
The budget-friendly shearling jacket has been hailed for its luxe look and incredible value, and it's striking resemblance to a $3,400 designer version from Coach.
The two jackets share a similar oversized aviator cut, statement shearling collar, vintage-look hardware, and belted hem.
Despite the massive price difference, the Kmart jacket doesn't skimp on style or comfort, and is available in women's sizes six through 20.
It also comes in a neutral tan shade with cream faux shearling lining, making it easy to pair with everything from activewear to jeans and boots.
The colour, fit and quality are making this a winter wardrobe staple thanks to its ability to keep wearers warm on icy mornings, without being too bulky to wear indoors or while running errands.
And unlike its high-end counterpart, the Kmart version is machine-washable, making it a practical pick for everyday wear.
However, the items' popularity has seen a few disgruntled shoppers who have complained of stock being too low in their area: 'never in stock,' one complained.
Kmart swiftly replied to let all hopeful fans know that they are working with their team to 'make sure there are lots of products you love to shop in-store and online.'
They're not the only popular winter item that has shoppers in a frenzy – with some $15 Kmart clogs being named as a perfect 'dupe' of $354 designer alternatives.
Melbourne-based mum-of-two, Amelia O'Brien, posted the now-viral video when she couldn't believe her eyes after stumbling across the Senior Footbed Clogs in the kids' section of her local Kmart store.
'These are the perfect colour… like this is the exact colour that I wanted, and they cost me $15!' she said in the TikTok video that now has 15,000 views.
'Cute and comfy,' she added.
The winter-friendly slip-ons bear a striking resemblance to the Birkenstock Boston Shearling Antique White Suede Clogs, which are a designer favourite that retails for a jaw-dropping $354.
'I have wanted those Birkenstock slides for so long,' Amelia said. 'They look cute, great for Pilates, but also I'm not paying like $260 for them - that's ridiculous!'
She also referenced a similar version by UGG that's currently trending, adding 'they're like $120… but I have just come across these!'
The bargain shoes are made from a soft faux suede upper with a cosy, fleece-look lining, and they also feature an adjustable buckle strap and a sturdy moulded footbed, making them stylish yet supportive enough for everyday wear.
But there is one major catch - they're technically from the kids' range, so they're best suited for adults with smaller feet.
'My feet are small enough to be kids, so that's a little embarrassing… but also, fab for me,' Amelia joked.
Shoppers are now rushing to snap them up before they disappear off shelves, with some TikTok users saying they've also found other great 'dupes' of the style elsewhere, and in adult sizing.
'For a bigger foot, Cotton On/Rubi also have a good dupe for them too,' one commented.
'Target have them in kids sizes and they are genuine leather,' said another. 'Only $30!! I was moments away from buying the Birks' or UGGs and then found them.'
While these are a great alternative, some commented that sometimes it's more about quality over bargain buy, especially with what will actually last until next season.
'You say you won't spend $260, but I promise you the real Birkies last yearrrrrrs. I have a pair that are 10 years old!' one fan raved.
The viral moment couldn't come at a better time, as Aussies rug up amid a brutal cold snap sweeping across the country.

Controversial 'it girl' shocks fans with unrecognizable new look while filming TV legal drama

She has never shied away from making a wild, scantily-clad fashion statement. But Julia Fox 's latest look is certain to shock fans for an entirely different reason. Kanye West's ex looked completely unrecognizable as she filmed her latest project in a surprisingly ordinary outfit. Julia, 35, was spotted shooting a new episode of the CBS legal drama Elsbeth in New York City on Thursday, in which she plays Raquel Drabowski, a 'grief influencer', according to Variety. The network describes her character as a 'Staten Island widow who transformed herself into an upscale NYC "Grief Influencer" and reality star on the hit dating series "Black Veil."' Julia wore a sophisticated, midnight blue suit with a crisp white neckline and black heels. Her hair was styled down in long, loose waves while her complexion was accentuated with a smoky coat of eye shadow and blush. Julia, who is known for her eccentric and bold outfits, rose to fame after briefly dating Kanye West. Julia reflected on the high-profile split, while making an on CBS Mornings with Vito Schnabel, her co-star on The Trainers. 'I was going through a lot during that time. I was coming off of, like, a very public breakup. It was horrible,' Fox lamented to Gayle King. 'And I just wanted to go to work and be able to just be somebody else. I loved being her. I feel like I have so much in common with her in terms of you know being, like, overlooked or not taken seriously or just dismissed. 'And I feel like that's why our characters kind of just, like, had this unique love story.' Meanwhile, audiences can next catch Julia as the seductive Elsie White in Justin Tipping's NFL satanic horror film HIM - hitting US theaters September 19 and UK cinemas October 3 - produced by Jordan Peele. Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith seen on second date as the AFL star flies to the Gold Coast AGAIN to see the fitness influencer

Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith can't seem to get enough of each other, as the pair were spotted enjoying their second date at a beach on Friday. The AFL star, 24, who first jetted up to the Gold Coast to see Tammy, 31, last weekend, made the trip again to take her on a romantic stroll to Nobby's Beach. Influencer Updates AU shared footage of the pair on Instagram on Saturday, as the footy player appeared to have his arm wrapped around Tammy's hips. The clip showed Tammy and Bailey cuddled up as they walked down the street after getting a coffee together and soaking up some sun in the sand. 'Spotted at Nobby's Beach GC yesterday!' the caption read. 'They pulled up together in her car, got coffee and went for a walk then drove off with him driving her car!' Tammy posted to her Instagram Stories just a few hours later, wearing the same grey tank top and denim shorts she wore on her date, and shared a photo of the beach. Likewise, Bailey was spotted in Melbourne just shortly before he flew up to QLD, wearing the same black tracksuit he donned for their outing. It was likely a brief visit as Bailey would have flown back to Melbourne soon after their rendezvous to prepare for the Cats' bout against the Swans in Sydney on Sunday. Their second catch-up came on the same day news broke about a community coach being sacked after he made a vile comment about Tammy dating Bailey. Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club formally sacked League coach John Baggetta on Friday after he posted a shocking slur about the online star to Facebook. John called the fitness influencer a 'c** bucket'. Days earlier, Daily Mail exclusively revealed Bailey and Tammy were seen together on a date on the Gold Coast, kissing and sharing lunch at a waterfront restaurant. The outing fuelled speculation about a new romance, coming only two months after Tammy's split from her ex-husband Matt Zukowski. Later, she appeared on social media wearing what seemed to be Bailey's jacket. Bailey has declined to clarify the relationship. Photographers and reporters attended Geelong training this week, where Bailey was the centre of attention, but the Cats star only responded with a tirade of expletives. Their alleged union on the Gold Coast sparked enormous chatter on social media platforms, including plenty of horrendous comments directed at Tammy. One of the worst of those slurs was posted in the comments section of a news article by John. 'He's just trying to keep his relevance,' John posted about Bailey. 'And she is just a c** bucket,' he then posted about Tammy. His comment sparked a barrage of calls for him to be sacked, with the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club officially wielding the axe on Friday. 'The board of the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club wish to inform all players, members, officials and supporters that John Baggetta has been terminated as League coach,' the statement read. 'Regarding the social media post made by John, we do not condone those comments, and they do not reflect the values or standards of the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club at any level.

Brazen thieves target footy legend's luxury car in broad daylight - leaving his young family 'rattled'

Footy legend Trent Cotchin and his family remain in disbelief after they were victims of a daylight robbery. The triple-premiership captain with Richmond and Brownlow Medallist had numerous items stolen from his Mercedes outside his Moonee Ponds home, in Melbourne's north-west, on Thursday. His wife Brooke later posted security footage of a car pulling up in front of their house around 6pm. A hooded thief can be seen hovering over Cotchin's car - which was unlocked - before opening the door and helping himself to a wallet, including an Amex card. Cotchin has confirmed multiple transactions were made on the card before it was locked. Victoria Police were then spotted at Cotchin's house on Friday morning taking statements. Footy legend Trent Cotchin and his family remain in disbelief after they were victims of a daylight robbery this week in suburban Melbourne The triple-premiership captain with Richmond and Brownlow Medallist had numerous items stolen from his luxury Mercedes (pictured) outside his Moonee Ponds home on Thursday Cotchin's wife Brooke told Instagram followers her family were left 'rattled' by the incident The footy star's wife posted on Instagram anything 'half valuable' in the vehicle was taken, but Cotchin's mouthwash, toothbrush and toothpaste were left behind. She added her family were left 'rattled' by the incident. Cotchin retired at the end of 2023 following a brilliant career with the Tigers, which included flags in 2017, 2019 and 2020. He captained the team to all three premierships, and also snared three best and fairest gongs at Punt Road during his storied 306-game career. Away from footy, Cotchin was recently mortified when he appeared on Channel Seven's Dancing With The Stars. While he impressed when performing a Cha Cha with Jess Raffa, the decorated midfielder was left with a questionable red lipstick mark on his crotch. It was all good natured, with Cotchin admitting it was 'extremely awkward' before playfully asking host Sonia Kruger to 'move on' when questioned about the stain. Dancing With The Stars fans previously noted Cotchin had been a little hesitant to dance with Raffa during early days of the show. Many felt the footy star didn't feel comfortable dancing with another woman who was not his wife and childhood sweetheart, Brooke.
