He asked for high-schools and colleges to offer workplace focused courses as part of their curriculum. The billionaire banker also stressed that businesses can't rely solely on four-year degrees. 'They all want jobs,' he said of young graduates. 'But many end up in retail or inventory roles, when there are jobs in coding, cyber, and financial management.'
Dimon is also calling for unprecedented collaboration between the private sector, government agencies, and educational institutions. He advocates for incentives for companies that invest in workforce training and increased public funding for apprenticeship programs and digital learning platforms. "No single entity can solve the skills crisis alone," he emphasized. "It will take all of us working together."

No data with MCG on 34 defaulters with 97cr tax dues
Gurgaon: An audit of the MCG joint commissioner's office found that the corporation has no records of 34 property owners who have not paid taxes amounting to nearly Rs 97.2 crore. Without the details of the owners, there is little action that the corporation can take to collect this property tax, the principal accountant general pointed out in the report for the audit carried out this Feb. "In the absence of the names of the property owners, chances of serving notices and initiating legal action to such property owners were negligible. There might be very bleak chances of recovery of outstanding property tax from these properties," the report said. It added that "considering the financial interest of MCG", authorities should take up the matter with revenue officials for identifying the property owners. MCG, the report said, had "failed to take action" to recover taxes from defaulters, leading to accumulation of dues. You Can Also Check: Gurgaon AQI | Weather in Gurgaon | Bank Holidays in Gurgaon | Public Holidays in Gurgaon The auditor also sought explanation from MCG regarding the failure to recover taxes and the lack of enforcement measures against the defaulting owners. Asked about the report, an MCG official told TOI on Wednesday that the corporation is trying to "retrieve" the records of the defaulters. Other than stamp duty and advertisement fees, property tax is a key revenue source for the corporation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Investire è più facile che mai BG SAXO Scopri di più Undo In the 2024-25 fiscal year, MCG collected Rs 232.9 crore in property taxes. It has projected income from property tax at Rs 275 crore this fiscal year. According to the audit, there are 120 property tax defaulters, each of whom owes the corporation more than Rs 1 crore. In total, dues from unpaid property tax stand at Rs 280.6 crore, other than Rs 18.4 crore fire tax and Rs 35.6 crore in development charges. Kuldeep Yadav, a city councillor, said it was "unacceptable" that such a massive sum of taxes has not been collected. "The audit report's findings are a scathing rebuke of MCG's inability to fulfil its basic responsibilities. It is clear that MCG has been asleep at the wheel, allowing tax evaders to go unpunished while the public suffers. Heads should roll over this scandalous dereliction of duty," he said.

ONGC clears major hurdle in Sivasagar blowout control effort
Dibrugarh: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on Wednesday achieved a critical milestone in its effort to control the ongoing blowout at the Rudrasagar well in Sivasagar, which has been spewing gas uncontrollably for 14 days since the incident began on June 12. In a step forward, an extra-long boom crane and a 40-tonne crane worked in tandem to remove 42 tubing stands from the derrick, clearing the way for the safe extraction of the rig base from the wellhead. With the rig base now removed, ONGC will proceed to dismantle the blowout preventer and install a capping stack — a vital phase in sealing the well. The company cautioned that gas discharge may temporarily intensify during this step, but reassured the public that the emissions are non-toxic, with volumes significantly reduced and posing no threat beyond a 500-metre radius. In a statement, ONGC said the operation is being executed with utmost precision and layered safety protocols, including continuous water blanketing to suppress gas emissions. It is collaborating with CUDD Well Control, a US-based firm specialist in well intervention, to ensure a seamless operation. Rising water levels in the Dikhow river have posed logistical challenges, threatening to delay equipment deployment. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo In response, ONGC teams are repositioning high-capacity pumps to maintain uninterrupted support for critical safety systems. "Ambient air quality continues to be rigorously monitored, with all key. parameters well within permissible limits. Medical and relief camps also remain operational, ensuring the well-being of personnel and nearby communities. ONGC reiterates its commitment to operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and community safety, and continues to work with determination to bring this complex operation to a safe and successful conclusion," ONGC in a statement said. As the operation enters its most delicate phase, focus now shifts to the successful installation of the capping stack — marking a decisive step toward ending the blowout.
