Mahima Gosain Express derails near Sambalpur, no report of any casualty: Railways
The incident took place between the Sambalpur city station –Sambalpur junction, shortly after the train departed from Sambalpur city at 9:18 am at a very slow speed, the East Coast Railway said in a statement.
'No loss of life or property in this incident reported,' the railway statement said.

The guard of the train said that a major accident was avoided as the speed of the loco was very slow.
Railway officials and local police have reached the site and shifted the passengers to another coach.
The East Coast Railway statement said that the rear trolley of a general coach next to the guard van of 20831 Shalimar-Sambalpur Express derailed near Sambalpur City Station at a very slow speed.
'Train already left for Sambalpur with all passengers. No one injured,' it said.
Railway officials including the DRM have reached the site and overseeing early restoration of traffic.

SWR's Mysuru Division DRM inspects Hassan-Bantwal railway section
Mudit Mittal, Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru Division, South Western Railway, conducted a comprehensive window trailing inspection on Thursday covering the Hassan–Sakaleshpur, Sakaleshpur–Subrahmanya road, and Subrahmanya road–Bantwala sections. The inspection aimed at reviewing the safety and maintenance standards of track infrastructure, signalling systems, and operational preparedness along the route. Mr. Mittal interacted with on-site engineering teams and instructed officials to ensure adherence to project timelines and maintain high standards of quality and safety during the execution. He was accompanied by Anand Bharti, chief project manager, Gati Shakti Unit, and other senior officials from the division, a release from the division said.

DRM inspects railway sidings, infra at NTPC, Simhadri
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Lalit Bohra, along with senior officials from the Waltair Division, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the railway siding and establishments at the Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant, on Thursday. The DRM focused on critical safety protocols related to rake handling, the discharge system at the siding, and the mobility of train operations within the NTPC premises. Special emphasis was given to track and electrification maintenance, as well as streamlining operational challenges to enhance overall efficiency. During the visit, Mr. Lalit Bohra held a high-level meeting with Executive Director of NTPC Simhadri, Sameer Sharma. The discussions focused on improving infrastructure and maintenance activities, increasing rake availability, and reducing operational constraints to optimise operations. The DRM also conducted safety inspection at the Level Crossing (LC) gate in Jaggayyapalem, near NTPC. He reviewed safety procedures, inspected various records and interacted with the gateman to assess his knowledge and preparedness of various safety practices.

SCR, GHMC agree to resolve pending ROB/RUB works
The SCR and GHMC officials have resolved to expedite pending issues with regard to land acquisition and utilities shifting for taking up Ranigunj Road-Under-Bridge (RUB), Sanathnagar RUB, additional ROB (Road Over Bridge) at Fatehnagar, RUB at Gundlapochamplly and RUB at Malkajgiri at a coordination meeting held here on Wednesday. DRM-Secunderabad R. Gopalakrishnan and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan participated in the meeting with their respective officials to discuss on the elimination of level crossings (LCs) within the GHMC area as they contribute to traffic congestion and train safety. It was decided to eliminate these LCs through the construction of grade separators within the GHMC limits. The drainage issues at Hyderabad Yard, Moula Ali yard, and Hafizpet yard, where direct discharge of drain water onto the railway tracks has been causing track flooding during the monsoon was also highlighted. Officials from both sides are to inspect these locations, and undertake necessary measures to mitigate the issue, said a press release.
