
Jeremy Clarkson launches new version of UK favourite product only available to customers of his pub
TV star Jezza, 65, will also flog bottles of the condiment at his Diddly Squat farm as it meets his UK-only ingredients condition.
An Isle of Wight company took on the challenge after the subject arose on Clarkson's Farm.
It came after thousands of requests for ketchup at Jezza's pub in Burford, Oxon, saw staff put up a sign urging diners not to bother asking for it.
The firm, Condimaniac, uses Isle of Wight tomato passata, apple cider vinegar from Hants, Essex salt and British sugar and onions.
Boss Kier Kemp said: 'Making a 100 per cent British ketchup after Jeremy Clarkson alerted us to the fact there wasn't one was very hard.
"We had to put on our big boy pants.'
The firm made 1,700 bottles for its first order to be sold at the pub's one-stop butcher and bottle shop and at Clarkson's farm in Chipping Norton.
The firm's own supplies of the £7.95 red sauce have sold out.
A source close to Clarkson's pub said: 'Jeremy and the team support the British food and farming industry.
'So he made no apologies for not selling ketchup, no matter how many times staff had to let customers down.
'But the pub 's always said that if a British company could do it with all-British ingredients, it would get on the menu.

Britain will rely on gas for decades to come, Centrica's boss said yesterday after it backed a £1.5billion deal to buy Europe's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. Centrica, the owner of British Gas, and US infrastructure investor Energy Capital Partners have agreed to acquire the facility at Grain, on the Kent banks of the Thames Estuary, from National Grid, subject to regulatory approval. They said the site 'will be able to provide up to 33 per cent of UK gas demand and so is a critical piece of our energy security infrastructure'. And Centrica chief executive Chris O'Shea told the BBC: 'I do think that gas will be a key part of the energy transition for decades to come.' It comes as Labour's aim to shift away from oil and gas runs into trouble, with a drive to use more wind power in particular facing increasing challenges. Meanwhile, Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has banned the issuing of new oil and gas licences in the North Sea. Critics argue that gas will be vital to fulfil demand – in a less polluting way than oil and coal – at a time when the capacity of renewable sources and infrastructure is still being built up. The Grain site imports and stores gas, and supplies European energy markets with customers including Centrica, Shell and Qatar Energy. O'Shea said: 'We'll have more wind and we'll have more solar but there are points where we don't have enough sun, we don't have enough wind. 'You need to have something that when you don't have your renewables you need to be able to turn on your electricity generation and gas is the best way that we've got that now.' The acquisition comes soon after Centrica announced it was investing £1.3billion for a 15 per cent stake in the new Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk. LNG, which is chilled to minus-162C (minus-259F) and transported on specialist ships, has become increasingly important to Europe since imports from Russia were cut off following the invasion of Ukraine. The fuel met 15 per cent of the UK's gas demand last year. That is expected to soar to about 60 per cent by 2050. Centrica's equity investment totals about £200million as it will also take on £1.1billion of debt. The shift to renewable energy is being hit by US President Donald Trump who has promised to ban new wind farms and recently branded turbines 'a con job'. Shares in Danish wind giant Orsted nosedived this week after it tapped up investors for £7billion to plug a financial hole, blaming its struggles on Trump's policies. Separately, UK figures showed how wind farm operators were paid £117million this year to stop producing energy that could have powered every home in Scotland for six months.

Kingsmill owner agrees to buy Hovis in deal to create UK's biggest bread brand
The owner of Kingsmill has agreed to buy its rival Hovis in a deal that would create the UK's biggest bread brand if the competition regulator approves it, but also put jobs at risk. The deal comes after decades of decline in the popularity of the packaged sliced loaf, with Hovis, owned by the private equity firm Endless, and its rival Kingsmill – part of Associated British Foods – struggling to get out of the red for some years. ABF, which also owns the Primark clothing chain, said the tie-up would combine the production and distribution activities of the two businesses, which is expected to lead to roles being shed. The potential merger between the UK's second- and third-largest bread brands will attract scrutiny from the competition authorities which it is understood could take a year. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will have to decide if the brands face sufficient rivalry on price and quality from supermarket own labels and other options as well as the UK's current market leader, Warburtons. Hovis's directors said in accounts recently published at Companies House that they thought any deal was 'unlikely to be concluded' before September next year and that scrutiny was likely to continue until at least then. Sales at Hovis, which employs 2,925 people, fell almost 9% to £447m in the year to 28 September 2024 as pre-tax losses widened to £4.7m from a loss of £3.6m a year before after £530,000 in one-off costs, the majority of which related to restructuring. It said it had been battling 'extreme price volatility across key raw materials' during the year. Meanwhile, ABF's bakery division, Allied Bakeries – which includes Kingsmill, Allinson's and Sunblest – incurs annual losses of about £30m despite sales of about £400m, according to analysts at Panmure Liberum.
