KATHRYN Thomas has opened up about her "amazing" new job and told fans to "watch this space" for what's coming next.

Kathryn admitted that although she was "really concerned" about the sleep aspect, she said: "I absolutely love it, I love it."
She continued: "For the first time in my life, at 46 years of age, I have routine.
"I've never had routine. I've never had a Monday to Friday job. I always fought against routine because I loved the never knowing what I was going to do.
"That's my life since I was 21, I worked as a freelancer so I'd never know what job was happening, you know there's no real stability.

"This is the first time I've had it and actually, it has made me feel much more grounded, much more settled, I'm sleeping better, I actually have much more energy.
"I go to bed at ten, I'm up at twenty past five, I finish at around half twelve, there's a one o'clock pick-up - and then I have my afternoon with them.

"I have more energy than I have done for a long time."
However, Kathryn admitted she's still in the "honeymoon phase", so "it could all wear off".

She admitted that being on in the mornings is "a big responsibility for the station" - but added that she doesn't feel that pressure.
She said: "Everybody is so nice, the culture in the place is amazing - I think with a lot of breakfasts there's two-handers, three-handers.
"A lot of the shows, it can be about that big frenetic energy between people, whereas they were just like they want me to do it on my own, bring my own energy.
"So that's what I'm doing, I'm just kind of enjoying myself and loving every second of it."

However, the huge show was axed last year as RTE felt it was time to "refresh and renew their offering".
Kathryn admitted: "It was strange, I'm not going to lie. Come January we went to Morocco, we took the kids away because I just didn't want to have any of that sort of feeling straight after Christmas."

The mum-of-two told how she as grateful for the support and messages from fans who missed the show this year.
However, she added: "It was time for me, it definitely was after 14 years. It can kind of be scary for people when you're making a move.
"But until you close one door - pushing open another one comes easy when one is closed."
Kathryn has always had a passion for helping people look and feel their best.

Now, the Carlow native has moved on to front a brand-new two part documentary titled The Skinny Jab Revolution.

She explained that the reaction was "huge" and admitted she was "nervous taking it on".
Arthur also noted that Kathryn was "emotional" and "very vulnerable" in the documentary.

She said: "It's the first time I had done documentary and for me, I had produced it as well, it was my own production company, so I just wanted to be honest from the get go.
"I wanted to be frank, I wanted to tell my own story and show how this has kind of impacted me as well.
"Not only having suffered with being overweight as a child but also working in that whole space for 14 years."
Brian then asked if there will be more documentaries in the future.

She revealed: "I have got a couple of ideas in and it's that age old thing, none that I can talk about.
"I loved the documentary space. It was just great to step into a different genre.
"But watch this space, as they say."
